Damn. Did anyone else get a little freaked out by how savage those tentacles were? Not just the executions (which were nasty as hell), but just in the credits/logo sequence. Those things are gnarly.

So.... do we still get to watch "To Kill a Mocking Bird" in game?

The more I see, the less I like. Assecutions and constant spinal cord-removal isn't what I wanted from the Darkness. I mean, it looks fun, but it doesn't look like the new developers are very interested in what made the Darkness interesting. Then again, maybe this is just marketing and there's some depth to the game beyond "everyone wants you dead, kill them first!"

Fatalities work because Mortal Kombat is already totally off the fucking wall in every respect. If you're trying to establish an emotionally resonant story, "ASSECUTION" really isn't the way to go about it.

I somehow feel the story wasn't the main focus this time round.

the assecution thing is taking it a bit too far, dontcha think? Ill still check out the reviews atleast when it comes out, but that video was pretty sickening.

I hope they remember the Darkness had a hell of a story, and the 2 tentacles, yeah they were violent(and sometimes a little funny when they fought over which was going to do the killin', one was dominant but the other snuck in there ocassionally) but they were an extension of the Darkness. Those 2 guys look like they have started their own party.

Multiple spinal cords and skulls should come out of the bodies.

Yeah, it sticks out as a step or five in the wrong direction. The darkness is The Darkness, not Bulletstorm.

Really?I'm sorry,I don't mean to be an ass but all of those executions scream of a desperate attempt to appease immature teens with over the top gore.Look at the first game,sure the executions were brutal but they weren't wacky or over the top,they were mature kills to help sell the gravitas and tone of the game.

Agreed. I liked the first game a lot. I mean I cared when they killed my girlfriend, not in a "I cried when Aeris died whhhaaaaa" kinda way but I felt it gave my character a good reason to be pissed off. And the whole alternative dimension with the perpetual World War I thing was awesome too.

"Assecution"? Fucking hell, they just undid a lot of good will frankly. It looked like they cared about making a good game with a good story... now this looks so juvenile my excitement for this game has been ripped out of my ass like that dude's spinal cord. sigh
