The Delayed Rayman Legends Is Also Coming to Vita

Yay! When they debuted this i thought it looked perfect for the vita/ps3 cross screen touch dealy.

Also saves ever having to buy a Wii U, Double yay!

I'm not sure losing excitement qualifies as "turning" on something. They delayed the game so late that they were mid pre-release advertising for it, so we've effectively been through two launches for this game, plus I played the demo and challenge mode they released for Wii U. Basically it is finally time for the game to come out and I kind of feel like I've experienced it already.

@residenthazard: Oh right, I should add that I'm European and Tales of the Abyss never came out for the PS2 here. Are you satisfied now? :3 And yeah, I tried taking that into account.

Super Mario Land is pretty good, but I wouldn't call it one of the best platformers ever--especially since it was one of the first Game Boy games, and was easily bested by Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Although the shmup levels were fun.

If you guys really want to list why these systems are great, you'd avoid multiplatform titles and ports--like Virtues Reward (which is a sequel to a DS exclusive, so if you use that to say why the Vita is good and appealing to you, then logically, so is the DS & 3DS), Persona 4, Rayman Origins, MvC3, and Lumines--and Tales of the Abyss. RE:Revelations counts because it was made for the system, and is the best reviewed version of said game.

The biggest problem with the Vita, aside from Sony misusing it as a peripheral to their home consoles, is the "let's port everything there" way Sony that treats it. It needs exclusives, as exclusives are what really define consoles. The 3DS has those in spades, and if you want Shin Megami gaming, the 3DS has four times as many titles.

So. It seems like the Vita one is the one to get now.

I would think this would annoy Nintendo. I kind of wonder if Ubisoft had a falling out with them.

Cancelling Wii U pre-order. It seems like they are really polishing this one.

I loved the last Rayman Vita game - not to sound blasphemous, but it is up there for me with Super Mario Land in regards to quality of platformers.

It was pretty amusing how long this one was delayed.

The 3PS has Uncharted: Luigi's Fortune, Kratos Party 3 and New Super Call of Duty Land 3D, so it is clearly the best system.

You know, they could probably just make cross-controller support for the PS3 and Vita to have a WiiU-like experience without the WiiU.

This is fantastic news. I didn't even make it halfway on the PS3 version of Origins, then bought it on the Vita on a whim and absolutely loved it and finished it. Such an awesome game.

So pumped to play Legends on the Vita.

Who'd have thought that the Vita would end of being the perfect platform for Persona! (I also own every Persona for my Vita with only a handful of others.)

This game is Michel Ancel's grand parody of Duke Nukem Forever. Coming to Playstation 6 - actually the seventh Playstation - and Xbizzoks in Fall 2028.

Beginning to sound like it's coming out for everything *except* the WiiU at this point, but this seems like a good fit for Vita.

Anyways I loved Origins on Vita so I'll probably pick up Legends on it as well.

Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2 (it's good, just not great), Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus, Professor Layton, Resident Evil Revelations, Tales of the Abyss, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Pushmo, Crashmo, Sakura Samurai, Harmoknight, Final Fantasy Theatrhythm, Rhythm Thief, etc.

Yeah, you can play Persona 3 Portable on it. :D

But, because you're a gamer, and because gamers turn negative on seemingly everything for any reason imaginable, you turned on it for reasons that have nothing to do with the act of playing the game itself, right?

The issue is that they are launching in September when there are going to be a shit ton of other titles coming out, all of which harness more focus than a Rayman game (why get this when I could wait a week and get GTA5?)

It's going to be vastly overshadowed and sell poorly, while if they had just launched it when they originally had planned for Wii U, pretty much anyone who owns a Wii U would pick it up because oh god there are no games for this system I am dying to play ANYTHING.

I was interested right up until it said "Touch screen features!", and I fucking OWN a VITA.

EDIT: Ok, I got to the bit about the two special guests and my interest has returned. Funny stuff.

@alekss: Actually for the last 2 months the Vita has been outselling the WiiU globally. According to vgchartz.com anyways...

I preferred the Vita version of Origins because of its portability, its ability to go to sleep mode immediately either in the middle of a level or between levels (the perfect way to play a platformer like this is in bits and chunks, at least for me), and it have the better graphics of the handheld versions.

There are a ton of good games on the Vita. Much more then on the 3DS, at least for me.

Nice, I'll pick it up on Vita. The first one I played exclusively on Vita, since that sort of platformer feels better in the palm of my hand, as opposed to on the big screen.

It's not all that hard to do considering Nintendo's negotiating tactics for third party exclusivity basically consists of an intern writing a kindly worded letter to the studio saying "pretty please can we have your game as an exclusive."

I'll probably get this on vita again, I loved playing Origins on it.

Not the 3DS version, though, from trying the demo. It just wasn't made for such low resolution.

I don't know if there are any numbers on this available anywhere, but I wonder if it's the case that while the Vita has a smaller install base (if it still does), a larger percentage of it's user base purchase the games that are available for it.

Great! This was awesome when I played it at an Expo, but I wasn't going to get a Wii U for it. Now I can play it on my Vita.

I just wish it was released on WiiU back in the day when it was actually fucking ready. I'd have snapped it up. Now, all the exposure to various demos / challenge apps has left me a little colder on it than I otherwise would've been.

I look forward to seeing it in the five dollar bin, only in the pound sterling equivalent...
