Pretty excited about this one but it's lack of media coverage has me holding out for reviews.

...and drifters wonder why they don't get much respect from the racing community in general. This doesn't do anything to dispel my view that pro drifters are either jerks or failed racers, unfortunately.

I'm a bit of a racing fan on the PC (wheel and pedals guy), but I didn't really like the original shift that much. It wasn't that bad, but I think the whole "rewind" feature in Codemasters games really spoiled me. No more screwing up a long race at the very end and having to restart. 
 
So more looking forwards to Dirt 3 than this.

Needs more Monster branding.

I like the camera movement stuff going on when you're drifting.  looks very good.

As long as there is modding support for the PC like in the last one, this game will be solid.

So racers who don't play video games playing video games. Also I know this is an early model, but it's really laggy and the cars don't look great.

You can become a not very good trash talker if you buy SHIFT 2.

Dude, don't show the outtake in the commercial. I'll probably skip this simply because I'm still not done playing NFS: Hot Pursuit.

Why is "Drift Mode" still in Shift? It sucked the first time, because it drove and handled nothing like the driving in the actual races. Do what Forza 3 did. Make an additional scoring mode for drifting, and change nothing on the way the cars drive and handle. 
 
Then again, the original Shift was a complete waste of money, so I won't be taking the chance with Shift 2. Forza 4 is out later this year, I can wait until then.

Psyched for the game.  I'm really hoping they've gotten the frame rate more solid than the previous game, because the enhancements to the cockpit view are pretty fucking great. 
 
I will say, however, that it's funny how you can catch a split second of someone playing with an out-of-car camera angle at 52 seconds.  lol
