The Future of Torchlight

I'm honestly surprised he mentioned the 2 biggest challengers to Torchlight. Diablo 3 and WoW will make it really hard to market their MMO. I sincerely hope it does well because these guys deserve to succeed.

Kind of disappointed that there aren't really any concrete plans for an official addon, but I suppose the time and resources are better spent developing their MMOG.  I'll be really excited to hear more in-depth info about the project when it's farther along.

Definately watching for what these guys put out.

Wow, it really sounds like they've put a lot of thought into how they're going to do the microtransaction model for their MMO. I'm really looking forward to how it turns out and that they're able to stand up to Blizzard's onslaught. I may even buy Torchlight, despite my earlier misgivings for that game.

Great guy. Torchlight MMO could be something up my alley.

I'm glad that they decided to do a free to play model, and the CEO really sounds legit too and doesn't sound like some high and mighty executive. I expect cool things from this developer.

i may have to buy this game simply cuz that guy is cool and i love diablo-style games anyway. i'm very interested in seeing this mmo take off.

Pleasant chap. May give Torchlight a look, been flirting with the idea for some time. Probably best to finish up Borderlands first though.

Free to play.  Cool, i may actually play this MMO then. 

What a nice down to earth guy. He just seems like a genuine dude that plays games as well and isn't worried about naming other game's he's interested in and that it might take some (Torch)light of the game he's repping. 
 
I was wondering, you might have to prep him for interviews because of his wiley ways :P, but have you ever thought of Dave interviewing the more PC centric titles? You had him already do a few PC QL's and the DA review, might be kool just to see a PC gamer probe the minusha workings of PC games. 

Man what a cool dude! I love Torchlight and to see this interview gives me real hope that they will be able to pull it off. Great to see a guy that's not to dis-attached to reality making great games. Gotta support those kind of developers!

Or you could just run Windows in bootcamp for gaming. It's quite easy. "

Torchlight has become a really nice, unexpected surprise for me.
 
It does absolute nothing to reinvent the wheel and yet it's one of the funnest games of the year. It's like playing a dungeon crawling version of Peggle and I'm definitely looking forward to the MMO.

I think I would like to play a Torchlight MMO, but I still wish they weren't making it - I don't want another good developer to get sunk by a failed MMO.

Haven't checked out Torchlight yet, hearing a lot of great things about it though. 

welll he seems nice. perfect person too talk about an upcoming game. i will def. give the f2p mmo a go, i may even buy torchlight too show my support, and use the modding tools.

I agree with Jimbo_N, seems like a really cool down to earth sorta guy. Im really interested to see how this pans out.

To me, playing a hack 'n slash game alone is like playing Quake 3 Arena alone. It's about the multi-player. Just what I think...so not interested in it until they have MP.

I've put 20+ hours into my Vanquisher. Loving every minute of the game. Well worth the $20, probably more. Knowing it's going to a good group of guys is just icing on the cake. Looking forward to more Torchlight!

Really nice guy,,, seems a little jolted by caffeine and maybe a little lack of sleep but very (as everyone else has said) down to earth. Torchlight has been a wonderful unexpected treat, can't wait to see the bigger world they give us.

i love the game & i am attempting my first mod on it, the tools are great & i love the fact there not dumbed down. 

Downloading the demo right now, after seeing this interview. That must be one of the coolest guys in the game industry.

Man...I don't want to wait 2 years.  I don't play MMO's but just from playing the demo of Torchlight I can't wait to play their MMO.  Still haven't bought Torchlight, only because Steam keeps draining my wallet with their sales.... but I plan on picking it up in a few weeks.  That is unless it goes on sale sooner....
