The Guts of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

I don't really get why they think carriers and tempest are so similar. Sure, they're both big slow-moving air units, but their damage models are complete opposites making them efficient against completely different units. What they really should do is just specialize the carrier even more towards big numbers of small units. Make it faster, increase the amount of interceptors and reduce their individual damage. Maybe even make it less durable and cheaper too, to make it less of an "end-game only" option. It would serve to give a stargate build even more viability, although it might impose a bit too much on the role of the archon. On the other hand though, archon is already being marginalized by units in it's own techpath.

Release it already!

Great interview! It's always a nice thing to see interviews were both sides know their shit and also know what people want to hear.

Brad gives a perfect interview again. I get sick of seeing fansites do interviews with devs where they don't know how to ask questions or let the interviewee talk.

Err why are you making out Terrans an easy race to play? Mech play you need a lot of game sense, because drops and getting out of position is easy. Standard play requires a lot of multi tasking. Both pretty hard to pull off.

I would ignore anyone who uses the phrase "ruined starcraft 2"

I love Blizzard's transparency with their balance adjustments. It's really refreshing to me coming from a 2D fighting game background where the usual developer/player interaction on balance is maybe, maybe a blog posted in Japanese only with a less than comprehensive rundown on the changes made.

You look rough Brad, but pull out a great interview as always. Archon Toilet is some crazy business.

The longer this game takes to come out, the more I hope events for testing it out entice players with these new units. I think Brad said that everyone was just using the builds they know and ignoring new stuff when they had the chance, and I would like to see an explosion of crazy new strategies when the expansion releases.

The Carrier is the protoss. If you get rid of it you're getting rid of all the meaning that came from Tassadar crashing Gantrithor into the overmind.

The thing I really enjoyed about this video was that, David Kim seemed uncomfortable.. or nervous..and I guess that's what I like to see from game developers.
