Did anyone else notice that the TV screen uses the same texture as COD4. Like... the exact same.

People are starting to suspect a coordinated deliberate attempt by the publishers to force the PC players into abandoning that platform. Until now, I dismissed such rumors as nonsense, but I am slowly growing suspicious myself.

If putting the price to match the console prices means more games that take advantage of the PC, and more companies focusing on PC only, then count me in as supporting making this a standard. I know that this probably won't be the case for MW2, but if it has that impact, I will be more than happy to pay the 10 dollar premium. However, as stated above, the graphics will likely be the same on PC and console for MW2, and that is what I'm sick and tired of. I'm also tired of the QUAKE 3 ENGINE. I mean honestly, do we really need to be using this engine for games anymore? I can understand from a business standpoint that this sequel will rake in a ton of cash for them due to low costs on engine development, but come on Infinity Ward, you're using an engine that was made in the 20th century! Get with it! "

Actually for Call of Duty 4 they've been using a propriety engine (i.e. they made it themselves), with MW2 using an updated version of that dubbed as "IW4". Call of Duty 2 was the game that had the Quake 3 engine.

There's no reason to push for a new engine for every new game release unless there's a significant gap between each sequel, namely a minimal of 4 years. Even then most developers still use the same game engine until much later.

Game engines take time, resource and money to make. Why make something new when Infinity Ward already made a engine that renders objects photorealistically, plays fairly well and can still run locked at 60 fps amazingly enough? There are probably other developers that are wondering how the hell did IW manage to pull that off. IW should be proud of their engine and will continue to use it until they see it is time for a new leap or when hardware limitations have been lifted.

Im interested in the story now, i used to not give a crap. Im interested to see whats invading America. Though i usually find most any invasion of America unrealistic. It would take an ungodly amount of resources to even make land fall. It looks as great as the COD4 so i cant wait.

Sounds fun but the whole plot seems busted. Invasions on American soil always seem super far fetched, not to mention the capital. If they're just like "OH NO UNNAMED MIDDLE EAST COUNTRY LANDED BOATS AT WASHINGTON" that's going to be super dumb. I know it's a game but I think if you set it somewhere real you have to give at least a semi-realistic reason for it. Hopefully they will.

Im very offended that the age gate only goes up to 80, not 82. Its discrmination, my great great great grandmother wanted to check out the new trailer so she could tell her friends if it was good or not, and was sad that she was older than the age gate.

No, the age gates are the suck, although I do like what the ESRB does in general.
Anyways, it would be nice if GB remembered my age in a cookie or the profile. I was older than 13 yesterday, I'm older than 13 today, and I'll still probably be older than 13 tomorrow.

Well the last game took place in real locations, with real weapons, and realistic scenarios. The argument that it's a game so it can do whatever it wants is true but that does not make it a game people want. They could throw in unicorns that ride on rainbows and pour candy over all the terrorists if they wanted but that would be stupid. An invasion of the White House could work if they put a clever story behind it but the fear is that it'll just be a cheap Tom Clancy rip off.
But to assuage people's fear it looks like it might be a Mumbai like situation where it's more of terrorists holding the US capital hostage than an actual invasion. That would explain why a significant portion of the game does not take place at the US capital.

Whoever gets lulled into thinking these heavily cinematic presentations make for good games need to stop drinking the cool-aid. Gameplay is the only thing that matters, and so long as they tightened and "deregulated" the potential for ridiculous in-game exploits (mismatched perks, close combat sniper rifles) it'll be solid. Spare the hyperbole however.

This is exactly what I said. Someone else suggested that Russia and the USA will become full-blown enemies soon, which I think is not realistic. In the case of Iran, it depends on how the upcoming control visit goes. While I think it's pretty unlikely, Obama could always opt for "preventive measures" - just in case. Not in the next couple of years though, it's far too expensive.

Your government dosn't do this out of the kindnes of their hearts. Its always money and oil. Its always selfinterest. And the rare time, when it is not about money and oil, then it is about cleaning up after your government has fucked up again in another war. Why do you think so many nations hate your country?

Would you be happy? Joyfull? sad? or maybe angry?

Im all for removing "evil" dictators, but it has to be done right! And you have to clean up after yourselves afterverds, like USA and the rest of the Allies did after WWII in Germany. Rebild, and reestablish the econamy.....
If you dont help the country after you destroy it, then you end up creating terrorrists. And you make room for a new dictator.
The world is bigger the America, and the decision to invade another country has to be made by the world, not by ONE man, thats not democracy.

You should be happy that you finally have a democratic president in the white house, maybe he has time to clean up the mess George Bush made, before you reellect another republican.
