Shamefull thing to say but, i had a lot of fun with starwars galaxie the first year it was out. If I can play solo (for the most part) and get lost in the fiction, then I will keep playing.

I find it funny that everyone is talking shit about this game, but everyone here will either play it or play a trial. I mean EVERYONE. On forums, everyone bitches about WoW being the devil, but WoW is played by the entire population of a medium sized country, which means that people who say they hate WoW on forums are regular subscribers to WoW. The same thing is happening here.

Did he really just pull that random machine part out of the ground at 1:40? Seriously? You're going to display how inflexible your super specific ability animations are in an official fkin trailer? I thought the point of trailers were to show your game's good side

           

I noticed that. Bloody awful isn't it? I love how they try to edit the combat to make it look exciting and dynamic, rather than static and boring as hell. The armour looks dreadful, animation substandard (even for an mmo)... damn it, the list about everything that puts me off this game just keeps getting longer and longer.

Nice to see a forum where people are seeing what I'm seeing, and that ain't something good, rather than blind love. On the ToR official forums its all "zomg awsum"

I think you should reread that comment. More people play WoW than people living in Finland, Norway, and New Zealand. Not combined of course, although they're not far off.

I've played it, it is another WoW clone but with an annoying combat and animation system. The only thing making this worthwhile are the dialogues in the quests and the multiplayer conversation system.

Is it just me or does the graphics and animations completely suck? Age of Conan looks a lot better than this and it's several years old now.

Star Wars:  Still boring as fuck.  It makes WoWs Elves and Orcs seem fresh.

 Because Star Wars:KoR is just another wow clone, they hurt the industry and mmo genere as a whole with their senseless attempt to create a cash cow this late in the phenomenon's life-cycle.

That didn't really look too good. It looked kinda bad actually.

I think using Two Steps From Hell music in trailers just officially jumped the shark...

In all action in this game the characters are standing completely still, makes me think it's going to be utterly boring to play in the long run.

Sorry to give it more hype (especially in a TOR thread) but Guild Wars 2 is similarly putting a large focus on the story, but is also doing away with many of these tedious MMO conventions, including the shit gameplay.

Old Republic may be good "for an MMO" but why should MMO's have such ridiculously low standards? I'm glad that some upcoming ones are at least trying to get away from that.

Regardless of the general consensus, I'm still very excited about The Old Republic. It's not just the social aspect of an MMO and the way that I'm still a fan of the classic movies, it's also the fact that there's finally an MMO that tries to bring the strong narrative of a single-player RPG to the table... Even if the animations look a little hokey at times.

You know what I was  thinking of watching this trailer? A proper Knights of the Old Republic.

GiantBomb just generally dislikes MMOs, yet they still like to bash them all the time. So much bashing of this game from people who don't like MMOs in the first place and want KOTOR 3. Because honestly.. This looks like a very polished MMO.

Too bad the game is actually good and unique enough in the story that my enjoyment will be a significant number of  months instead of 2 weeks like rift. Wish i had the rift beta so i coulda known that.  
My only dread is dealing with the people who impose what they wanted and declare it to be what everyone wanted. If you're going to be disappointed before you even get it... do yourself, and everyone else, a favor and dont get it.

he doesn't need a lightsaber because he is a healer which is a total joke. In those scenes you can see him rezzing allies lol. They should have made this game an MMO KOTOR. KOTOR had no dedicated healer. This game looks like it usees the trinity yet all you can have in a dungeon in TOR is 4 people: which is EXACTLY like KOTOR. That game would have been fun to play. Who here doesn't agree that a 4 person KOTOR wouldnt be fun? Anyone?

Hey I like this guy, He was totally getting it on with that chick at a distance. And some guy thinks he's bad with his red sword and all? Wave your finger at him in dissaproval, throw rocks then set him on fire. I like it. Oh and shoulder pads and staring at glowy blu stuff for Lucasarts/MS spiritual points..

Wow, that looks so incredibly bland. Why don't they produce two hours of FMV instead? Those are actually good.

If this wasn't an MMO I'd be all over this shit.
