The Journal Tells the Story of a Troubled Young Girl

I'd give this game a look, but i'm not sure I really want to play it. I don't know what this particular game is about but I enjoy some games trying to say something outside of - Your the ONE, save of princess again, or come stop the bad guys in this Modern War-is-fun-zone where no civilians exist,etc,etc,tropes,tropes.

The chief motivation of one of the "antagonists" of the game is to cure his prosopagnosia.

Oh god, I love how some people just get defensive for no reason when they see a game like that. Why? Men's rights and all that jazz?

Anyways, this game isn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure some people will dig it.

That music choice makes half the trailer, but the game looks interesting (in a positive way) and I'll definitely keep my eye out for it.

Colour me intrigued.

The word "emotional" in video game review context has always bugged me. I feel like somehow "emotional" gets turned into a sliding scale, where "more emotional" and "less emotional" are valid things to say, rather than what emotion you're referring to.

But seriously thanks to those of you who've said nice things about the game. To those of you who don't dig it, no sweat at all I always knew we were making something pretty niche but it's just what I wanted to make right now. After this is finished one of our next projects is a game a bit more mechanically focused so maybe that will appeal more. I just want to do a range of stuff.

The trolls are out from under their bridge.

Anyway, love the art style.

Maybe the medium has reached the point of maturity to have its own Oscar bait.

I dig the style, it's a neat idea for the presentation.

I dunno, this visually doesn't look all that appealing to me... unique it may look but nothing about it's visuals have sparked my imagination :(

This stuff can't make me feel anywhere near as emotional as when I'm playing a Mario game.

The art style looks cheap and the 3D environment looks sooo bad.

Crazy that this is coming from the same guy who did Kairo. What a diverse dude. This looks pretty great.

So many pretentious indie game tropes that'll be bound to annoy people. I think it looks interesting, however.

Something about about the cast of characters zooming away from the camera at the end game me a JRPG feel for some reason.

If it's as good as the game you're alluding to, it'll be well deserved.

That "flipbook view while you can see the real world" perspective reminds me of Contrast. On my radar now.

Sadly I treat women equally and don't put them on a pedestal so the protagonist being a female doesn't give me some cheap appeal to this obviously bad game.

Oh man if it's about a lesbian it'll get perfect scores no doubt.

A quick scan of his website makes it seem like he may not be the singer/lyricist for the song in the trailer, though. I tried using Sound Hound on the song, but there weren't any results. :(

Does it really, though? The drawn art looks like something out of a Flash game, with some terrible font choices and unimpressive animation. The small bit of 3D world surrounding the titular journal itself it looks incredibly bad. What am I missing here that's supposed to impress me?

Anyone able to find the song? I'm guessing it must be made for this game or really obscure, or maybe I'm just bad at googling.

What we need are more cover-based military shooters with muscular White guys as protagonists who shoot things and drive vehicles and use their muscles & stuff. Why don't they make games like that anymore?!?
