The 2D to 3D mechanic could probably produce a lot of head scratchers.

Posted by coakroach

Never owned any of the Zelda games... might give this a crack

Posted by FoxMulder

I'll play it, but I'm not too keen on the art style.

Posted by EuanDewar

Not at all a fan of how the game looks but it still could be great gameplay wise!

Posted by Duecenage

@patrickklepek And Mario Party for the 3DS, what in the world does Nintendo have in store?

Edited by Shaanyboi

The wall mechanic is gonna fuck with my head...

Posted by soulcake

Never played a zelda game but since i bought the pokemon machine i might as well give it a try.

Posted by alanm26v5

Oh hey a fire and ice rod.

Posted by B_Heart

Really dislike the way this looks. Not my style at all. Think i'll pass

Posted by VierasTalo

This wall thing looks fucking insane.

Especially because I haven't played a Zelda-game since Link's Awakening

Posted by Jaqen_HGhar

Goddammit, I might have to get a 3DS now.

Posted by HeyGuys

I really hope the game is great but I'm not a fan of the look at all.

Posted by joeshabadoo

i dont get why so many are down on the art style

Posted by Zauzazu

Nice to see Link with his massive hair back.

Posted by MrPlatitude

Just started playing 3D Land again, and this graphically looks less impressive than that game, which is odd. I might pick this up, but I don't know how far into it I will get. I never do very well in Zelda games.

Edited by CoolYetiDance

Oh man, got too much stuff on my 3ds. With pokemon and Phoenix Wright right now. New professor Layton in a few days, and now this. Better get back to playing!

Please please, hire someone else to do your trailers, nintendo. PLEASE

graphically and stylistically, this looks terrible

Yeah, this looks like a Zelda knockoff.

Posted by Cold_Wolven

Nintendo couldn't of picked a worse time to release two big games just before my PS4 arrives.

Posted by TheUndyingPigeon

Looks like I'll be buying a new 3DS in the coming months.

Posted by Budwyzer

When they said that the magic meter would now just regenerate instead of having to pickup magic to refill it, I never imagined it would be that fast.

Posted by bhhawks78

Man this game looks ugly as fuck

Posted by Etrips3

This is gonna be the best Zelda yet!

Posted by Adrian79

Not understanding the graphics hate, to me it just looks like LttP HD. Nov 22 is gona be a great shopping day, Xbox one and a brand new Zelda edition 3DS XL.

Edited by joeshabadoo

The lighting and texture work are both looking great, very much a rounded/smoothed over translation of ALttP visual style. The game's flow/movement seems fluid and responsive too.

Forgetting all of that, as long as the dungeon design is sweet and boss battles are mostly great then that's all I give a shit about. Hopefully the OST, recurring and new themes, are up to or near par. Early indicators have me hopeful

Unfortunately it appears some of the hate for the art style comes from those that never played Link to the Past on Super Nintendo. I actually think this looks great and can't wait for it to come out. Link to the Past was my very first Zelda game and to date probably one of my favorite.

Edited by darkest4

Yikes, those are some seriously ugly environments/textures..

Posted by DrBackflips

I think it's kind of hilarious that Nintendo thought it was necessary to advertise that you'll be able to "explore all new dungeons." An original Zelda with NEW dungeons?! Wowie!

Posted by CrossTheAtlantic

I love ALttP, but I can't say this looks like the HD version of this (that would be more this). It kind of looks like the same soulless art style the New Super Mario Bros games have, which is such a bummer as Nintendo can definitely do better.

The game itself looks great, of course, but I really wish they had made it look more unique.

Posted by BBQBram

Despite the ugly graphics I am incredibly hyped up for this. I just hope that the art style will seem more consistent when playing the whole thing.

This doesn't look amazing, but what you linked looks like trash.

Posted by sp0rkeh

I really dislike the art style they chose for the 2D stuff. I would have liked to see some regular animations for the movement when Link is in flat mode, rather than just wobbling the texture from side to side. I get what they're going for but it's just not working for me.

Posted by Strathy

I'd play this but I lost my Gameboy Colour.

@bit_agent: @joeshabadoo: I'll be the first to admit that blowing up 3DS' image to higher resolutions will make it look like absolute shite, but compared to other titles on the 3DS that can pull off PS2 era graphics, this just looks like something from the N64 era. The lighting seems way too sharp, the "polygonal" models look like they belong in Donkey Kong Country for the SNES. I have a bad feeling about this.

And Nintendo, for the love of God: the 2DS is not a different platform. I understand that someone in the marketing department felt the need to highlight the new version of the 3DS, but Come On.

Posted by flasaltine

Man love that remastered Zelda theme.

Edited by Aretak

I have to say, I'm really not a fan of how the game looks, both from an artistic and technical standpoint. The 3DS has shown itself to be capable of a lot better. This looks closer to an N64 game than a GameCube one.

Still, I'm sure the gameplay will be solid.

Guess what I'm exited for all 3 of those things. FUCK ME RIGHT!!!!

Because some geniuses didn't understand that this is not a remake of ALTTP.

Posted by pkmnfrk

I really hope this has more than four dungeons.

Posted by LandonRobinson

Dat verticality.

Posted by Praise_the_sun

I had almost no hype for this at all...but goddamn I do now.

Posted by relyt55

Looking good! No complaints here.

Posted by WeaponBoy

Personally, I think this looks rad.

It's probably also worth pointing out that in almost every 3DS quick look they've said that the game looks much better on the actual screen than on the capture feed. If your complaint is the art style then ok, but I'd wait for some more hands on stuff before writing off the technical aspect.

Why is his hair not pink?

I'm definitely picking this up with my birthday money. It looks like a must-play with the 3D slider allllll the way up.

Posted by DayOneAdvantage

Seems a bit of a stretch to throw Tearaway into the same group as a next-gen console launch (and all the games that go along with that), the first 3D HD Mario game, and the sequel to Link to the Past...even if they are all on the same day.

Posted by Timing

Part of the music in this trailer is A Link to the Past's Hyrule Castle theme reversed.

Just like two years ago with that Skyward Sword trailer.

Edited by Sooty

People saying it looks ugly, remember, 3DS footage always makes the games look a fair bit worse than they do on the actual device.

Edited by DaddyCabinet

Hmmm I have yet to be disappointed by a handheld Zelda.
