@superfriend: This game was in development for a while before Volition was purchased, and it doesn't come out for 5 months. Also the devs have said the entire process with THQ and Deep Silver barely affected them, and deep silver is staying out of the process. Yes, it's on the same engine, but I still wouldn't worry.

Wow, I really didn't think it would be coming out so soon - especially considering the bankruptcy and whatnot. That's cool, though, and I'm glad it's coming out on PC day-and-date.

I went back and played some more Saints Row 3 recently, and that game is still fun. Think I'm ready for some brand new Saints Row fun. And by fun, I mean "smacking people with a giant purple dildo/baseball bat hybrid".

Don't misunderstand me I loved SR3, but c'mon. I've seen expansions that managed to look more different.

Color me..kinda unimpressed by this trailer. I didn't like the idea of this when it was a DLC and I think I'll like it less stretched out over a full (and I bet short) game.

it was pretty obvious this would at least be on the same engine considering they were sorta forced by THQ to make it a rush job, and they're probably so far along with what this game was supposed to be that it'd be kinda stupid to throw it all away now. does it really matter if it's the same engine if they bring their a-game writing/gameplay wise? i'm guessing you'll have to wait for the next installment to see anything truly "revolutionary" (i.e. new engine).

Btw, Saint's Row needs more than new gimmicks to get me in for another round, I think. I'd also want further improvements to the gameplay (and maybe engine) to incorporate the advances to the genre that Sleeping Dogs made.

I wonder if the story is going to be as crazy as the gameplay was in SR3, based off what's in this trailer, guessing it's going to be great.

While I'm disappointed it's not gonna be a next gen thing, I'm way more excited that 1) I get to play a new Saints game this year. 2) Volition are still making Saints Row games 3) Strap It On.

Problem is they brought their C game at best on SR3 as well for me. SR2 felt like a story that was all feeding into itself with the gang branches. The gameplay itself was undoubtedly more fluid but the story? A loosely tied together series of set pieces. Cool set pieces, but they didn't feel like they fit together. The storytelling was so bad I couldn't tell Johnny was dead until the funeral mission.

Who here thinks this will outshine GTA V this year?

Reading the comments on Kotaku, apparently there were a lot of Saint's Row 2 fans who thought Saint's Row 3 was too stupid and ruined the story? This concept is very strange to me.

I love how the black bar covering the guys dick was actually animating as he walked. That means it was some guys job at some point to make sure the game had proper penis swinging phycis and that it animated properly.

Will be interested in seeing what they have been able to do with the game to make it new and interesting given how recently the last one came out. Hopefully it won't have so much terrible DLC.

I'm really glad my xbox will get it's final tango with some Saints Row action.

Watch as the same people who said the Deadpool trailer was dumb and immature (despite being the purpose of that trailer) will suddenly all love this one.

even if this is just a stopgap game between consoles.. i will get it first day and play through it multiple times.. love the Saints Row series..
