Usually I don't listen to inerviews with developers because I already know if I want to buy the game or not but this interview was pretty awesome. Jeff knows what he's doing and Hector seems like a cood dude too.

Since I'm more of a Street Fighter guy it's great to hear that I can change the control scheme and back to block feels more natural to me anyway. Roster is pretty good so far too and if the storymode is as intersting as it appears to be then it could be one of my favorites this year.

While I can see where he's coming from, that's kind of a jerk thing to say, because that's not the point that's being made in a statement like that at all and it just comes off as "HAHA, NEEEEERDS"

@Jeff This is a good interview. Curious as pretty much the resident fighting fan what your early impressions of the game thus far? While I'm sure I will be picking it up, does the story mode look to you like it was as fleshed out as in MK and does the combat feel the way it should?

Specifically, it hit a cat-lady. It's a fact, people; the Bat-mobile has been confirmed as the greatest pussy-mobile out there. (It had to be done and I just rewatched "Drive" the other day. Don't judge me. Or do, seems right up your alley.)

Also this game looks fucking great. Hell, I'm tempted to fire up MK9 again.

Looking forward to this, after MK I have absolute faith in NetherRealm and have loved what I've seen of it.

Jeffs interviews are the best. Games looking good, but still dislike the stage hazards, makes the game too dependant on stage selection.

As someone who doesn't get much enjoyment from going online and getting my ass kicked, the story mode in Mortal Kombat was rad as hell. It sounds like this is basically that with 100% more Batman, so I'm completely on board.

I loved MK9 but I'm not a huge fan of the way their games control, it's just real stiff. This doesn't look to be much different. I wish they'd work on an MK game with a more technically capable studio. Imagine Project Soul working on an MK game, it would be so fluid!

This game is looking great so far. Will be getting this for sure. MK9 was awesome.

Agreed. One of my biggest deficiencies as a video game enthusiast is that I've never properly learned to play a fighting game. All that stuff about frames and priorities always been too arcane for me. I've screwed around in Smash Bros and Soul Caliber, but that doesn't really count. This sounds like it might be my best chance yet.

I've never seen Hector in a video before, but he seems like a really cool dude. Would love to see more of him at E3 and similar events.

The thing is you can add as many features as you want, if the game just isn't that great and is kind of boring to watch like Mortal Kombat (2011) was then it's kind of moot.

I don't deny 2011's outing had a lot of interesting stuff for a fighting game but it still fell flat competitively, which is a huge deal. Injustice still looks just as stiff as the last MK and for me that is a dealbreaker. It's just not fluid.

I just don't see anything gripping here, still looks weird and floaty like MK.

If somebody makes a Marvel vs DC game I want it to be Capcom, in the MvC mold. If Netherrealms wants to make their own, secondary version, fine.

I have zero interest in DC stuff (with the exception of Batman) but I want this game because MK9 was so good. Great interview. Lots of information, gameplay, and fresh Jordans.

Ugh, I'd love a decent DC fighter but this looks awful. The animation is so damn stiff and those character designs are horrible. I have faith in the story mode (glad to hear the DCAU voice actors) but I couldn't care less about its jerky-ass gameplay. I had fun with MK9 but I certainly never stuck with it.

Well MK 9 is my favorite fighter since SF II or MK II... both great to play and watch. It plays like MK and if you didn't like that fine, but plenty do and did. All the added features made it the most full featured fighter I've ever played (and the features added were good, unlike, say, the bad "campaign" type modes that have been in Soul Caliber, Tekken, and even older MK games) So not going to agree at all.

At the very least, if you don't like Netherealms fighters, you can hope that your Capcom fighting games or whoever you happen to like, learn from them and add some actually meaningful features into their games next go around. Especially ones that enhance practice modes and teach deeper knowledge of fighting games to players, as that's the single most neglected area in the genre.

Great interview! The story mode in MK9 was a delight, glad to hear they are focusing on that again. Looks like a rad game.

Glad Jeff asked about the online compatibility issues in MK9 and that Netherealm is building an architecture to alleviate the problem. Playing online in MK9 became a crap shoot after the DLC released.

For the way the old MK games got shit on by many fighting game fans, NeatherRealm is doing amazing work in creating single player content and options that allow the player to learn the deeper aspects of their games. I'm not really into DC stuff beyond Batman, but they sure know how to craft one hell of a game, so I'm in

Pretty late to the party here but this is an excellent interview. Very good information and a cool vibe throughout. I'm excited to see how this'll turn out. Looks good even to my somewhat MK obsessed eyes.
