The Legacy stuff seems like a good idea and it certainly is a step in the right direction for replayability, but there is still way too much repeated content between classes to make me want to roll a new character.

I'm not gonna lie, a force-powered bounty hunter sounds pretty rad.

I haven't played in a while, but adding combat abilities with this seems really imbalancing, unless they just replace existing abilities that do the same thing

I'm sticking with TOR so I am excited for this

Actually, this isn't the 1.2 change log. It's purely about the legacy system.

I started losing interest in SWTOR... but not until after almost 7 days worth of in-game time, without even hitting the level cap. (I'm currently a 49.) So yeah, I've definitely gotten my money's worth for almost 150 hours of gameplay, but we'll see how things go once I cap and more things open up. It's just that the massive planets with all their samey missions are starting to grate on me.

There's a free SWTOR weekend this weekend too that's already started. Probably worth looking into.

This actually sounds pretty fucking awesome. A breeding simulator sounds cool. I would love to make a hybrid sith cyborg or something.

Gave up on this game after 3 weeks. The performance in warzones was god awful no thank you.

Now all characters and classes play the same

@Hef: Unless cyborgization is way more invasive than I was led to believe, I doubt that you can impregnate a chick with sperm that create metal bits.

I like a lot of the changes they are presenting, but it's all stuff that an MMO released in 2011-12 should have been in the game on day 1. For instance: The UI customizations are just getting added 3 months in.

The legacy abilities will only be available when you have a companion out, so you can't use them in a full party or during pvp or raids. Essentially they've acknowledged that you'll be overpowered when solo, and that that's ok.

Whats up with William Wallace? Senior Game designer straight out of 8th grade prom.

I can see the legacy stuff being good when a game's had an expansion or two but since the game came out not too long ago, to hype up the legacy system now makes the overall game seem quite short to where you need to fill in the family tree. Now if you could do stuff in the legacy system the same way that one mission in kotor (or kotor2) of the family feud turned out then I might be more interested (can't remember the name but it was one little side mission that had 3-4 ways it could be resolved going from good to really really bad).

This should have been in the game from the very beginning, it was a big limiting factor on making a new character early on.

I'm done with this game though, by the time i finished my second character's main quest i stopped logging on because having to go through a lot of the side quests and sometimes even the main quests was just getting to be insufferable.

Many sighs were had.

@onan: There actually was a free weekend last week as well. I gotta say I was actually fairly skeptical considering I never made it past level 10-15 in WoW either because it just bored me to death, but the conversations and story progression here actually adds a lot in my opinion. I maxed out rwo characters to 15 in those 4 days and I'm really chomping at the bits for my copy to arrive so I can continue playing my Sith Inquisitor and Infiltrator.

I completely forgot that I had this. I should totally hop back on when I have more time.

@mrsmiley: if you do a character on the other faction that you didn't play the stories and side missions are completely different

I'm aware of that, but the missions themselves, as many as there are, really follow cookie cutter MMORPG rules, in that they're all pretty much the same "kill x number of y enemies" structure. It's not terrible, and in fact I've been an avid defender of SWTOR from haters throughout the launch month, but at the moment things are feeling a bit dry. Perhaps it's the fact that I make it a point to complete EVERY mission and bonus mission on EVERY planet? Perhaps I've brought this on myself. Either way, I'm sure things will become more interesting when I cap and start the end game content and PvP. :)

Very cool, I'm glad a friend of mine got me re-interested in this game after I gave it a shot, now I'm loving it. The legacy system seems like a fun thing to explore and cannot wait for 1.2 pets and UI customization :D

Awesome, was wondering when they would actually implement this. Might hop back into SWTOR this summer.

i got to level 4 and then got bored

The questing in this game is really, really linear in terms of areas to explore and that kind of nulls whatever kind of enticement I had to make a new character as a result of this legacy system. Awesome! I can make a sith pureblood Jedi... but I already have a Jedi.

I'm aware there was one last weekend, but that's really helpful to no one but cheap time travelers. :)

I'm sitting on a free 2 week trial they sent me in the mail, I guess for participating in the beta. Debating on whether I should use it or not. I don't need another time sink, but the beta was a hell of a lot of fun. Not so much on the Jedi side, but I had a great time with my Sith Warrior.

This looks really coo in a lot of ways, but the story lines are not good enough to make me want to do generic questing for 5-6 days played time per character. I also think it's silly to give a bounty hunter the force choke power, if I wanted to force choke people, I'd play a sith. I wish they would make the end game difficult and add variety to the loot.

Legacy stuff is very interesting. That being said, I should probably actually get a character on my main server to the point of having a Legacy before I keep rerolling guys.
