You guys must have some blazing upload speeds!

Posted by jonnyboy

I hear part 2 is the best part.

Posted by mrcraggle

Where's part one?

Posted by toastface

I had to get up at 5am for this. I didn't.

Posted by McDunkin

My guess is that Part 1 is much longer so it takes longer to upload. welp!

Posted by ionkinetic

It was the perfect timing for a live show in Denmark, now it's passed midnight and I can go to bed.

Edited by bistromathics

part 1 was winter olympics...mark your calendars for 2014

edit: guess I should have watched more than 10 seconds in before saying that :\

Posted by Rhombus_Of_Terror

They put up part two first so that it doesn't appear before part one therefore the video order wouldn't look right.

Posted by crusader8463

I will admit that I was not very good at the Social Studies in school, but last time I checked 2 came after 1.

All parts were best parts.

Where's part 1?

Part 1; the sequel prequel to part 2

Posted by hussatron

Something something part 2

Posted by MHumphreys89

The audio is loud on this as opposed to quiet, I think the Twitch player is fucked.

Posted by _Chad

Part 2? This must certainly be a mistake.

Those owls are ridiculous.

Posted by Patman99

It would be really great if they would actually do a competition where each of the athletes would compete on various events spread throughout the various olympic video games and see who is really the greatest virtual olympic athlete.

Apperently Dave is Brad's penis head..

Edited by falling_fast

Nagano is the only olympics game I've ever played.

though I had it for n64. the n64 version is about 100x the game the ps1 version is. it was actually a really good game.

Posted by FoxMulder

Beijing has the best mascots hands down. They're real things and actually look good! Goddamn fire panda!

Posted by Capt_Ventris

The best Olympic mascot in history is Fatso the Fatarse Wombat aka "The Battlers Prince"

Posted by vistea

No Nagano 64? It was a completely different game almost, way better.

someone remind ryan to get this in a year and a half, I guess. looking at that ps1 version after having played nagano 64 is painful.

Winter>Summer

Brad's lack of knowledge about winter Olympic sports is disheartening, Winter Olympics are so much better in my opinion.

I hope that if they do this again after the next olympics in 2014 they go with the alternate ports of all these games. I'm sure there were weird handheld versions too! Gameboy Color/GBA? DS? PSP?

Giant Bomb gets the gold medal for video games journalism.

Posted by prestonhedges

So, he skipped all the ones that matter? That seems kinda dumb.

Posted by HatKing

Those owls are clearly poorly drawn Batmen.

Posted by zerdune

These Olympic games would be great for a new Scrub League Tournament.

Posted by Rafaelfc

A Scrub League Olympics Season would be totally awesome... they'd never do that

I was confused with everyone saying it was four hours and then this video only being 44 minutes, but I guess it all works out.

As a Canadian, every time Ryan discusses curling and gets the mechanics completely wrong I die a little inside...

Can't wait to see the continuation!

Same here. Sweep to the right to change the direction? Man...

Posted by Tag

Amazed at how little they know about the winter sports, also ryans performance in curling was poor, its not a button hammer game, sweep left to curl left more, sweep right for more right curl, to smash out opponent, not button mash, more power, no sweep straight throw!

Also yes nagano on the 64 was amazing, had alot of fun with that

Posted by Baal_Sagoth

Great fun! I'm not a sports game fan by any means but seeing a chronolgy of these licensed games is fascinating. And of course another round of exceptional effects use, especially using the mascots for their full creepy effect. I'm excited for the next installment.

Agreed, but at least he's taking an interest.

Man Nagano looks unapproachably difficult, especially for something released in '98. Who did they think that were making that game for? What super hardcore gamer is buying Olympics games? I'd think you'd want to make these games as approachable as possible.

In any case, this feature is great. It's very cool to see the evolution of gaming through such a specific lens. Brilliant idea on Ryan's part. Can't wait till next week when the start getting into the PS2 era games.

I don't know, skipping the NES games just seems kinda dumb.

My completionist OCD is now ON thanks to you skipping alpine skiing. Why skip 1 event that take's like 30 seconds long, 2 hours into the show, and having done all the other events so far? I mean, it's not like you're gonna make another one of these, so why not suck it up?

Posted by Jasoncourt

Why isn't Brad playing as well, it would be much more fun to watch? Seeing all those COM1 COM2 COM3 slots is killing me. I don't know that purely looking at how the games have changed is all that interesting.

Posted by tourgen

GREAT SHOW! I'm looking forward to the second half.
