I hope there are some starting/low level Jedi/Sith robes rather than that weird tight armour 'suit' sort of thing. That looks a little odd on Jedi and Sith.

Please let this not suck Bioware!

The Art style is actually shaping up pretty well, looks rad! 

I understand its a game, and I loved KOTOR, but there is one thing that has always bugged me about the Star Wars games I have played: Light Sabers should be a one hit kill.
 
Other than that, it looks interesting, and if I still played MMO's I would give it a whirl.

Anytime I hear the Gregorian chant voices in any piece of film or game media I automatically assume it's going to suck.  It's an overused, terrible total cop-out, basically smashing you on the head and saying 'pay attention, this is dramatic'.

Looks like MMO combat but a MMO I want to play.

if they don't fail on this project, i will gladly give them some of my money every month, for an extended period of time.

 Lightsabers can't be a one-hit kill if you want your single player game to be challenging and your multiplayer game to be balanced.  
 
And honestly NZV, your idea doesn't sound too appealing.  I can't imagine feeling like much of a hero if 95% of my attacks missed.  The combat would simply be underwhelming if there was not contact.   Besides, you're forgetting the fact that half the classes in this game use guns.  They have nothing to parry a lightsaber with.

If there wasn`t a monthly fee I would play the shit out of this game.
 
Hell even if they wanted an exorbitant amount for a life time fee like with star trek I would be very tempted.

Everything about this game sounds bitchin' on paper, but that combat really didn't look all that exciting. I just looked like your typical MMO combat wrapped in a thin layer of Star Wars. I'm sure that is exactly what some people want, but I don't think that that is going to be enough to make me get in to an MMO for the first time. I think I have to agree with sociald107. If they could figure out something to make the combat not look so bland and have the animations actually have a cinematic feel to them, it would be a lot more appealing to me. I mean, even just looking back at the movies, in any lightsaber battle, the characters were very rarely hitting one another with their sabers, yet it was usually clear who was winning and who was losing. Now obviously this shifted several times throughout a fight, but that just made for a more interesting and dynamic action sequence. Really, I see no reason that something like that couldn't be applied to a game. And in something like this, you still keep all your numbers and the behind the scene's stats and hp would all stay pretty much the same; however on the outside you have blocks, parry's, and dodges for animation so that it keeps a bigger sense of excitement and 'realism' to the action. Then I think that the implementation of some sort of bar or display that shows you which way the battle is swaying and how far from the final blow the players are. Hopefully, if done correctly, the bar wouldn't really even be that important, as you could watch the action and infer who was clearly was winning and who was on the ropes. The only really promblem I myself can see with this system is that in order to make it fair, the struggle would have to be able to swayed back and forth easily enough to make both players feel like they have a chance of turning the tides. This would be a huge pain to balance, and any tweaks made to the system could throw it off very easily.

Wow, this seems.... absolutely awful.
Art style is interestingly childish.
Maybe pop round to Naughty dogs animation department, missing a few frames.... everywhere.

Thought that from the still screen preview that it was either for the DS or turned to a side scrolling camera. Still looks in that realm of okay, will know more when I play it though it's going to be hard to top having your own Galaxy class ship in Star Trek Online.

As much as I love BioWare and all their games... I'm still not convinced that this is going to deliver at all at being a more compelling MMO experience than World of Warcraft.

C'mon Bioware, don't fail us now. You guys rock so hard and this game looks like a blasty blast and a half!

I'm really excited for this game! That said, i'm really curious how the balancing is going to work out...

I can't wait. Tried wow and got to level 40 but was bored. 

I honestly have doubts whether this is going to be good or not.  I mean, I'm excited that it's a new game from Bioware, and that it's a new Star Wars game, but right now, the characters look awful, and way too blocky, and also it's a MMO Game, which doesn't excite me.
 
All I can hope for is good reviews when it comes out later this year, or next year.

the combat looked a little boring in that trailer, but i still wanna play

simply, can't wait.  This is the first game in a decade where I've been THIS excited about a single title coming out (well, MGS 3 Snake Eater, so not quite a decade).

God I wish the animations were better.
 
Other than that I'm sure this will be crazy awesome. I'm still waiting for Guild Wars 2, though as I can't afford to pump out $15 a month for a single game haha.
