Loving pretty much all the aesthetics on these attacks. That heart-monitor blip for the dash attack was great.

I'm really not sure what to make of the art style. On the one hand, it's obviously all about sexploitation. On the other hand, it's way too cartoony to actually be hot (putting aside arguments about whether video game girls can be hot, to which I say yes). So is it ironically sexual?

does anyone else think they ended the last game timer on 69 on purpose?

If only this game had some sort of happy go lucky, naked cat lady...yeah, every game could use one of those.

Like other games with pixelated jubblies, I just apply the "creepy old man" litmus test. If my wife or friends saw me playing it, would they immediately think that I'm a little creepy because of it? The answer for Skullgirls is a resounding yes, so I ain't buying it, despite it looking like a damn good fighting game.

@skrutop: Can't argue with that.

I kinda like it, but the graphics don't look nice and sharp. They look not just like cartoons, but old cartoons. It's like watching old anime compared to new. I don't mind animated style video games, like BlazBlue, but I like it to look crisp and saturated.

If you don't play video games because you're afraid of what people might think of you, you should stop playing video games altogether.

Most publications show their video footage at 30fps as a general rule of thumb. Skullgirls will be a 60fps game.

I wish I played fighting games, because man, this game's whole steez is DOPE.

Art style whatever, I just think the animations are lacking way too many frames. This is supposed to be a fighting game and it's way too common to see characters floating in a freeze frame through an attack. Maybe if it was a 3D fighter that would look interesting but as a sprite based game it just looks lazy.

Music and art style are both godlike. This game is looking solid.

Haha, true. I'm pretty sure that buying this game automatically puts you on a "potential sex-offender" list. But it's less creepy than 80% of the anime I've ever heard of.

The artstyle is fantastic, the animation is fantastic, the moves are fantastic. This game is shaping up to be rather interesting, I have to say. Sexy ladies or not.

PLEASE MIKE Z I feel like this is the mine-craft of fighting games. Every week is him streaming fights with his buddies and saucy trailers. I heard about this Game at NEC 2010 I think. Please mike Take my money now, patch it later Capcom style.

Although I don't like fighting games very much, I have been looking forward to this game for a while. It's just so good looking! This is a game that is made by people who are passionate about what they do, and it shows; it's all in the little details, and the unwillingness to compromise on those details.

I look forward to this game's release.

Thing about Skullgirls is that it's got an extremely robust tutorial mode, specifically for people who don't play fighting games to learn, practice, and understand the fighting game terminology(I.E. what "launcher" means). So even if you don't play fighting games, this game will teach you how in a far more elaborate and thorough way than any other fighting game before. That's one of the biggest draws of the game, is that it's accessible to everyone.

@Vortextk: I have googled it. I've seen many different videos for this game. The animations are definitely not very smooth and seem to be lacking a lot of frames. This might be the "style" they are going for maybe. Darkstalkers, while way older has arguably better animations. This is my opinion of course so you are welcome to disagree. Although in the future it would be nice if you didn't outright assume things, and refer to others in a holier than thou condescending manner. I mean I know it's the internet and everything, but at least try to be a little civil.
