Nothing happened for 20 seconds so i stopped watching. May be cool but I'll never know, make better trailers people!

@b_heart: More than 20 seconds man. Woof.

Edited by BoomSnapClap113

Huh..
What the fuck is this game?

Posted by MarginalMagus

This trailer is amazing. I'm actually really enjoying the self-aware trailers like this and the bloody katana.

Loved the trailer! I can't wait for this game to come out. I really enjoyed the source mod and I want to see what's new with this.

@b_heart: It's called Patience and a build up. It helps set the tone.

Brilliant.

But I did expect the voice over to break into :-

There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are now in control of the transmission. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousands channels, or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. For the next hour, we will control all that you see and hear...

@b_heart: That's fine. The game isn't for someone like you then anyway. I don't think you even have a gun.

This is the story of an man named... Stanley. And I cannot wait.

This game looks fucking awesome. Love the trailer.

Smart trailer, i enjoyed that.

Every video this team puts out is so perfect. I can't wait to play this, if play is even the right word.

Hallway Simulator 2013.

Great. Great! GRRRRREEEEAAAATTT!

@b_heart: Shame you didn't stick with it, it's quite clever actually.

Edited by Thurbleton

This seems like Antichamber but without the block gun. Peoples minds will be torn asunder no doubt.

Also, was that Chilled 'playing' the game?

Posted by GalacticGravy

There seems to be an direct correlation between people I don't like and their love of Deadpool.

The problem is that I doubt it would pull anyone in who hasn't already played the first game. It's a neat concept, but unless you're already invested in the decision to stick it out, it's a rough start. But their other trailer does a better job of that, so I guess it's fine? One trailer for the fans, one trailer for the soon-to-be fans?

What? O_o

The second dude sounds like a british version of agent Smith to me... for some reason.

Love me some Stanley Parable.

Edited by DJJoeJoe

@redrocketwestie: I've never played the initial mod but I'm very much interested in this game, even before seeing this trailer. Mostly because I kinda know what the game is about, not specifics obviously but I get what it's going for and how it delivers itself to the player (through mundane trial/error and a narrator that mocks and manipulators you as well as reacts to your decisions in funny ways) .

This game seems rad, fun, and worth my time :) I can't imagine anyone who would enjoy this game that isn't capable of watching and enjoying this trailer right here... it's kinda the same bread and butter as the actual game itself.

I've never played the original, but this seems all the way up my deepest, darkest alley

Posted by jorbear

Yup, I'm going to play this.

Posted by Ghost_Cat

That kinda spooked me out. I'm in.

Posted by poperamone

@b_heart: you need to give it another chance dude

Hmmm, not sold.

Antichamber was brilliant at this because its other worldly setting allowed you to forget about the nagging "what's behind it all?!?" thoughts and just have fun being fooled and discovering clever solutions to progress.

This gradual reveal in a real world setting, however, just seems like a frustrating drag up to the what-does-it-mean revelation. Intentionally frustrating, sure. But that doesn't magically change actual frustration into a satisfying experience.

I wonder if they mean for everyone to live stream their stanley parable game?

In an age where many people can just use X-Split/OBS and stream PC games immediately or at least have a record(s) on YouTube, this is an interesting time to present a game like this.

I love you Davey Wreden! And everything you do.

I'm seriously looking forward in anticipation to this more than almost anything else.

@joshwent: @thurbleton: Trust me, this isn't about mimicking Antichamber's type of trickery - the walking down the same corridor stuff which eventually changed was just to frame the idea of the game and something like that particular sequence might well not even be seen in the final game.

This is not going be about enjoying traditional gameplay. Instead, if the general tone and crypticness of the narrator is intriguing to you and draws you in then that is the sign that you will likely get a lot out of this.

That's actually a pretty clever way to make a trailer for a game that relies on you not knowing what's going on.

At least I think this is one of those games. I've never heard of it.

Edited by Arx724

Loved the mod, excited for this. I'm all for good mods turning into complete games or getting sequels you buy.

Posted by Xpgamer7

God this whole thing is wonderful.

Posted by Sgtpierceface

@joshwent: This game is NOTHING like Antichamber (at least, the original mod isn't). Please don't write it off just yet.

Posted by Tactless

I see what you did there.

Posted by Dredlockz

@b_heart: More than 20 seconds man. Woof.

It was actually more like 2 minutes of him just walking down a halfway, they could've tightened that to 20 seconds and the trailer could have more retention, and less people skipping ahead.

Pretty terrible trailer-thing. Maybe a slightly less grating impression of an "LP-er" would have been better.

Edited by NoelVeiga

Big fan of the original mod, which predates so much of the similar exploratory first person games later turned into indie darlings through stuff like Dear Esther and Gone Home. The fact that it has a sharp, witty sense of humour to it instead of taking itself too seriously doesn't hurt at all, either.

So yeah, whatever you thought of the trailer, this is a cool thing. The mod should still be somewhere on Steam, by the same name, so you can always try that out and see if you like it.

But if you don't like it, know that I probably don't like you.

Machinegunless ... perfect

I just played through the original 10 different ways. Awesome writing
