Maybe it's just me but I feel like the Puzzle Quest craze has run its course. I was never too into Puzzle Quest so maybe I'm just out of touch with the Puzzle Quest super fans.

I used to play Puzzle Quest original all the time on my PS3, it was a good sit down and just do it between stuff kind of game but I felt robbed after Galactrix (which I waited extra long for on PS3 so maybe that had SOMETHING to do with it). I think I'll skip this one until it's cheap or on sale for $5

I Have the first for PS3 and it looks like not much as really changed apart from some animated / still screens for some of the spells and attacks.

I loved Puzzle Quest and stayed away from all the shitty clones, so I'm really anxious to play this.

I hope though, as much as I like seeing the special attack animation for the first couple times, that there's a button to turn it off so you don't wind up seeing it dozens of time. Maybe they should just time that special animation to some kind of critical/massive hit so it's a rare treat.

Space Puzzle Quest kind of destroyed my interest in this franchise.  That was a downright terrible game.  I might pick this up if it reviews well and I have some XBLA downtime, but not a first day purchase. 
 
And I agree on those animations.  If those are in there every attack, that pretty much seals the deal.  I don't want each basic fight to last an extra couple minutes because of animations and wait-time like some PS1-era Final Fantasy game.

Same here.  I have a feeling that after first 5 of those animations, I would get insanely sick of them.  Lets hope that there is some sort of an option to disable them.  :)
