The Wii U Has Landed

Never got a Wii U unfortunately. I had a Wii and it was one of the nicest packaged consoles Ive had, this is a let down though.

@Scrumdidlyumptious: i think it looks damn sleek. pretty surprised the console itself is so small, considering it's supposedly more powerful than current gen consoles.

There's something about the way Vinny's face lights up when he's doing something stupid that makes the world a little more bearable.

Last week on the Giant Bombcast, you said you did not do unboxing videos. Thanks for trying to call them on it Dave. I could tell you were pleased with this as you sat and patiently watched....wait, that's me too. :-P

I got mine all payed for and waiting for me. I just hope that DragonQuest X comes out in the west sometime soon, That game looks so great, Especially for a RPG nerd like me haha.

I watched this unboxing video over any others because I knew Giant Bomb's would be more entertaining. I am a bit disappointed, however, that no mention was made about how the Wii U GamePad has its own power brick.

Seeing that glossy box shell of the Wiiu brought back memories of the last time i opened my new 360 back in 07 and at the same time that overly excited feeling of wanting to try it out immediately and not bothering to clean up all the packaging that came with it. Man, I feel like preordering one but that would just be an additional expense i cant afford to have right now. I think ill just buy XCOM instead. Haha!

Brad is starting to look like Will Smith now.

Is it possible to have a negative amount of excitement for something? If so that's how I'm feeling right now.

For some reason, seeing this video made me realize I'm dropping almost $800 on Wii U launch day.

Wii U Deluxe, Pro Controller, New Super Mario Bros. U, Batman, Skylanders Giants, Zombi U, and Sonic Racing. $725 before tax is what my math says.

I'm psyched because this is step 1 of the two-step process for my next gen gaming. Step 2 is build a gaming PC.

Does anybody play like that? I mean, index fingers on the bumpers, middle fingers on the triggers (to use the xbox controller terminology I'm familiar with)? I always have used my index for both, because it feels weird to pull a trigger with your middles. I was always curious if I was using it the way most people do or not.

Told ya it was a weird question.

I do with the PS3. I rest my middle fingers on the very bottom of the L/R 2 buttons. On a 360 controller, I tend to rest my index fingers across the top of the controller in a way that lets me pull the triggers and "push" my finger up to hit the shoulder buttons.
