THE POWER OF KINECT

Online
Edited by Spitznock

Dubstep is not something that immediately comes to mind when I think "Fantasia".
Also: Kinect. But Harmonix has a good track record, so I'm sure it'll.. work out?

Flare Spells!!

Edited by Penzilneck

Will my copy come with an oversized, red robe and blue, floppy wizard's hat? If not, no sale.

Edited by Ett

Kaoss pad the game?

Edited by radioactivez0r

The name really came out of nowhere there.

Posted by hollitz

Had me at Harmonix, lost me immediately afterward.

With the power of Kinect, YOU are the dance beat

Edited by Scroll

So this is one of those 15 exclusives right? Hope it doesn't take up much space in the conference.

Posted by animathias

Man... Harmonix is my favorite and most inspirational developers of this generation. But I'm not going to cross that Kinect line. Not even for them. I love playing, molding, and creating music, but I'm not going to flail about in front of a camera to do so.

Edited by Thoseposers

hmm...

Showcasing the game with a Bruno Mars song? Not doing yourself any favors, Harmonix.

If anyone wants to get a sort of idea what this will be:

You wont have projection of course, but imagine having some air controls around the song etc. And of course using the kinnect 2 so more accurate etc.

A Kinect game, exactly what I wanted!

Posted by mcmax3000

Harmonix is lucky that I trust them, because otherwise, I wouldn't know WTF to think about this.

Posted by posh

i bet this'll be a really good game that i won't buy

Edited by MrGtD

I love Harmonix as much as anyone, but yeah this is not a thing I need in my life. I LOVED Rock Band Blitz, and I'd love it if they went more in that direction. Motion games are pretty much the opposite of that direction.

Possibly, but I was under the impression the 15 exclusives were Microsoft published, and there was no Microsoft logo anywhere at the end of that video, just Harmonix, and Disney.

Posted by RJPelonia

If this means more videos of John Drake looking goofy on-camera, hey I'm all for it.

Posted by JackBurt0n

Yay for a new Harmonix game! Luckily they're one of the few devs out there that actually figured out a "good" way to use Kinect, so hopefully they're going to do some awesome stuff with Kinect 2.0. Not sure about the dubstep, though...cautiously optimistic.

I think a demo will help this premise out quite a bit.

"Harmonix" tells my brain to pay attention. "Kinect" tells my brain to think about something else, anything else.

Posted by Maajin

Really love Harmonix, but that's clearly not for me.

Edited by Coafi

Hmm, Alex should have posted this video, we could really use a snarky remark here. When I heard the title, I was expecting Kinect related shenanigans but not like this! Why call it Fantasia? If they are just going the pop/dupstep direction. If you strip this game of its title, maybe people wouldn't be so critical about it.

Edited by Dizzyhippos

So dubstep the game presented by Disney? I assume there's some explanation that goes along with what exactly this is because other then YO HARMONIX I dont know what the fuck that was

Posted by SlashDance

So Harmonix is making Kinect Wii Music ?

Posted by Ronald

Harmonix and Disney, it's the John Drake/Vignocchi team up no one was asking for.

Edited by jbuchan76

No thank you..

I was so hoping it would be something cool.

as usual John Drake disappoints.

Posted by cthomer5000

Hmm. Excitement level reduced, unfortunately.

Posted by budgietheii

What the juddering fuck? Still, I trust Harmonix and Fantasia isn't a name that Disney isn't going to dish out willy nilly so guess I'll wait optimistically for some details.

Wait, is "Fun." an actual band name? What?

It actually is. I thought they added that as in adjectives to describe the game and I laughed out loud, until I realized that's a band.

Only glad the game will exist for the upcoming Quick Look EX. Don't like what the game is showing right now and i love Fantasia.

Edited by MildMolasses

@mcmax3000: I don't think that they are all necessarily MS published. I believe they just said that they invested in exclusives, and I'm pretty sure a Kinect based game involving a Disney property would not come about without some MS money behind it. After all, with Kinect 2.0 being mandatory, they need something that works and is a lot of fun to make it more attractive element to people who may have little or no desire to use one. Harmonix have arguably made the best and most functional Kinect games so far

I have to wonder, with the trickle of MS related games today (Fable remake, Windows 8 Halo game and this), if MS is getting some of the more casual stuff out of the way to make their "core" game announcements have more impact at E3

Edited by Ganthet2814

Another Dance/Music game. Yay........ Yet another reason to be in front of your Kinect flapping your arms around like some escaped loony. Sad, so sad.

@mcmax3000: Good point, either way I hope they save space in the conference for things that don't involve dancing but who am I kidding?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Also I was kinda intrigued when I saw Harmonix's logo but then I saw "For Kinect", no thank you.

I am so jealous of those cool looking people. Not only are they good looking, but they also get to hangout in space and altar the beat of some of today's top 40 in dance and electronic.

I refuse to believe you haven't heard of Fun, We Are Young was everywhere last year.

This is the kind of trailer that makes me want to go up to the guy that created it and smack him in the back of the head.

Edited by PopeShabooda

Wait... those were band names? I recognized "Queen," but other than that, the trailer was just a stream of nonsense.

"Kimbra! Fun. Bruno Mars?"

Thanks for making me feel old as hell, Harmonix!

Edited by Abendlaender

Leave it to Harmonix to create the only Kinect games worth caring about.

Edited by StriderNo9

Really, Fantasia?
