This Kingdom Hearts 3D Trailer Makes Absolutely No Sense Whatsoever

It continues to baffle me that people care about the KH fiction at all. Seems like 100% anime bullshit. The first game was cool but then it just became a stupid clusterfuck of Square bullshit with Disney shit in there for no real reason anymore. Like, those characters don't even matter to the story.

@Random45: Actually, the only game that's really important to the story is Birth by Sleep for PSP. Oh, and this one, KH: 3D as well.

kindam hearts is a stuped game for little kids and i dont now y there makeing this on 3ds cuz the 3ds is a big faleure so only like 5 people is going to play this garbege game

This trailer really drives home how dumb the disparity in screen sizes is.

You know, I loved Kingdom Hearts back in the day, I got the first one, Chain of Memories, the second one, and then I stopped. Now if I want to get back into it, there's like 10 different handheld games, each of them important to the overall plot of the series. It's just a huge convoluted mess now, and I wouldn't even know where to start. If Kingdom Hearts 3 does ever come out, I wonder if I'll be lost as hell trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

Since when was Kingdom Hearts supposed to make sense?

I will stand up and say that I like the KH series cheese ball as it can be.

So the PS2 Kingdom Hearts games were Disney / Final Fantasy cross-fiction, the handheld releases are kind of Kingdom Hearts fan-fiction, which is probably already one layer of fan fiction too deep. Compound that with the fact that these handheld releases have just been layering onto of each other since KH2 with no KH3 in sight. The result appears to be everything becoming really muddled with no clear narrative goal because they are just filling time for a sequel that is not happening.

I have to say I read the comments before watching the video and even the tag line for the video and did not understand how true all the statements of confusion were I really tried to understand what they were showing me, I've played enough to get an idea of maybe what they were showing me but FUCK ME I have no clue what the fuck they were trying to sell me on.

What's with all these KH uploads lately? Birth by Sleep was one of the best-selling games on the PSP but didn't receive as much as a single trailer on this site.

At this point I'm expecting a Quick Look of this game and Kevin VanOrd had better be in on it, otherwise I'm gonna be very disappointed. If any of the GB staffers is reading this, please make it happen. I bet Kevin would be thrilled to do it.

I don't care about KH, but this trailer didn't feel all that confusing to me. Just seemed to show a collection of mini-games out of context.

Also, turns out my heart had the answer all along.

The answer was 'cheese'.

Man those minigames look like no good. The Dragon Warrior Monster type ones seem okay I guess. And I don't see how this trailer is crazy. It is just lil' Riku talking to Quasimodo then they show off some bad minigames no one cares about or will like.

At least the trailers are in line with the series with their pension for nonsense.

Well in it's defense the major games in the series KH 1, 2 and BBS do try to change things up. BBS did so considerably in my opinion...

Why is Japanese marketing so dense? I understand that Western marketing is usually lowest common denominator pandering with zero gameplay, but Japanese publishers (or maybe it IS the devs?) always insist on choosing the weirdest fucking word combinations to name their gameplay systems, and then advertise them with no explanation, and an incredibly vague demonstration of their functionality (or maybe they were showing something entirely different?).

Or, hell, maybe it's just Square.

It isn't that confusing - KH 3D is just Sora and Riku completing Yen Sid's request (the letter at the end of KHII) to complete the Mark of Mastery Exam (the one Aqua and Terra are doing at the start of Birth By Sleep) which will allow Riku and Sora to finally be true Keyblade Masters. This will require them to return to previous areas and defeat previous enemies and get transported to new places to complete the test (i.e. why Heartless Ansem and Nobody Xemnas both make an appearance in this game).

That's why so many crazy things can happen because it is just an over-the-top magical exam creating the worlds they are in and abilities that they can do.

I played KH1, KH2, and BBS, and I'm still convinced you just made that plot (and a lot of those words) up. Cause I don't know what ANY of that means.

It's been a long times since I've cared about Kingdom Hearts, and I'm kinda sad about that.

KHII had sorta begun the descent into madness, but the first one was so damn cool and unexpected.

"Exiting new features!" "Play mini-games and defeat multiple enemies with the reality shift" "Level up your team with the flick rush!" When video games sound like I'm being pitched a new car I contemplate whether or not to go on a murder spree.

Another incomprehensible and plodding Kingdom Hearts game. I'll pass. I wonder how many hours you'll have to put in before you see your first Disney character, and even then I wonder what D-grade Disney characters they'll include for 90% of the game.

This is nowhere as crazy as advertised. Very disappointed. Just seems like a regular poor trailer to me. I think you're just automatically over-exaggerating for Japanese games.

When the fuck did Kingdom Hearts give you Pokemon Heartless to play with? And why is Riku young again?

As a big fan of the first two, it's been really alienating to see how Square has forced us to purchase every single different mobile game system since the GBA to play the new Kingdom Hearts game. And with no compilation of those titles for home consoles, I feel that by the time KH3 finally rolls around I won't even care because I didn't bother trying to understand the madness that's been in these games with absurd subtitles.

Just look in Quasimodo's heart. It has the answer (apparently). Seriously, though, it looks like they crammed every gameplay mechanic they could think of into this.
