I don't know about you guys, but I'm not at all bothered by any "arrow to the knee" joke thrown pretty much everyday (shit, I must've heard that playing Skyrim a hundred times at this point). Maybe, oh, I don't know. Calm down?

But anyway, did he just turn his hidden blade into a badass knife? Alright, I'm sold Ubisoft. Just not on this whole "RETWEET/INVITE YOUR HOMIES TO UNLOCK THE FULL TRAILER" gimmick.

Even before I finished the trailer I thought a knee is in the middle of the leg. I thought it's a shin he hits with that arrow!! I've been the one who is mixed up for all this time. Even for me it's funny! I hope the game will have this arrow!! HAHA.

(MAKE EDIT:) OH I got it wrong again, he hits the reverse shin! (I watched it again). Damn it's a painful shot. I still hope this arrow shot will come in game!! HAHA.

I think that may just be my favorite headline ever. I read it and, in my mind's eye, instantly saw the comment thread in all its hateful, moronic squalor.

Having skimmed it, I was not disappointed. I'd congratulate Alex but, to be fair, the bar for trolling people here is pretty low.

Also: marketing about marketing is not a new thing in video game ads. This campaign gets a resounding "meh" from me. Still excited for the game.

The point is you are lazy and bad at this job, Alex. While you think you're being clever and hilarious and meta, you come across as a ridiculous hipster idiot. You are undoubtedly smart, but repetitive snark and irony are lazy, dude. Ryan can pull it off because he's a talented host, personable and geniunely funny. You are not.

Brotherhood is fun, although suffers from an inexcusably lengthy period of holding back tools from the player at the beginning ostensibly for tutorial purposes. I'd agree with Herbie. However, there's one interesting bit of Revelations in the form of a sub-game that's a first-person puzzle-platformer ("Desmond's Journey") that you unlock by collecting hidden bits around the city, but maybe just watch YouTube videos to see it. It's really only interesting in that it exists at all and bolsters hope that they're still trying to come up with new ideas for things to do in AC games.

I'd say skip Brotherhood and go to Revelations since that is the most current game and it recaps previous events. All the AC games are fairly good on their own - played back to back is where they start to lose their shine. Desmonds Journey basically retells all the facts we already know with a bit of useless fluff here and there but I enjoyed them as actual gameplay although I know I'm the minority in liking them.

Revelations gets a bad rap, sure it's not the best AC game and that whole tower defense style thing was rubbish (seriously they couldn't have come up with a worse mechanic). But it did do some things I really liked. It cleaned up the grindy side quest stuff dramatically limiting it to about 10 side missions which helps the game flow a lot better (also some of those side things were down right annoying in AC2 and ACB).

Also the story was pretty good, it may not have a massive impact on things going on in 2012 but it does provide some decent closure to Altair and Ezio's lives. I'm generally of the opinion that Assassin's Creed as a series is actually one of the better written and voiced series of this generation, it's just a shame that no one seems to give it it's due in that department (especially when you consider some of the other games that get lauded for their "writing").

Also a lot of the original composition work in the soundtrack by Lorne Balfe is pretty damn amazing. That main theme is really good, has a very sad haunting feeling to it.

@Korwin: I honestly think theres very little difference and innovation between AC2 and Revelations which is why that game got such a bad rep. They made very minute changes with each game after AC2 and it really hurt the series as a whole. Lots of disappointment also came from the fact that for a game called Revelations there were very few of them to be found. They do nothing to advance the overarching plot of the series - for a 10 or so hour game, depending on how much stuff you do on the side theres nothing of value happening -

I'll wait for the actual game...or a proper trailer in any case :P

Because the first game revealed a source of power that would allow the Templars to have power over the entire earth. It's not about killing big bad guys to make the lives of the people better anymore, they are at war.
