As for the video, the combat has never been the defining factor for me with Assassin's Creed and it looks about the same as it always has; awfully showy, but still simplistic by nature as crowds of guys watch while you take them down one by one.

Only now it's incredibly more brutal. I mean Jesus, some of those take downs are fucking harsh... I;d always expect an Assassin to take out a guy with speed and efficiency to get the deed done ASAP. Connor looks more like he's in the running to star in the next Manhunt game.

I think the combat system in Assassin's Creed 2 was fantastic. It was very fluid.

It looks really good, but I still hate that some of the guys just stand there while their friends are murdered. They had plenty of moments where they could have helped, but what ever it still looks good.

Reading some of these comments is like reading YouTube comments. It is like sandpaper to the eyeballs.

Game looks fine. Trailer was okay, nothing the get worked up over.

I'm done watching these videos. I already know I'll be buying it day one.

Well, to be fair, that happens with most combat systems. The only games I've seen where someone can actually attack you when you're taking somebody else down are the Batman Arkham games and Sleeping Dogs.

I'm crazy hyped for this game but holy hell if these videos are taking everything way too seriously.

Sounds like they're making a Batman Arkham style combat system, but more involved due to the weapons. Still seems like groups still don't attack in groups really, but besides that seems great. I really hope all of the hunting & wilderness type jobs along with the host of other things they have introduced over the years is really fleshed out here. They did a good job with 2 and Brotherhood with Ezio's story, I can only imagine this is on that level or better.

From what they showed that looked pretty much the same, repeatedly stab one guy while all his friends stand around and wait for their turn. Still looks really cool though.

Am I going insane, or are the animations extremely janky and choppy? It seems like every single character model is struggling to move. And also definitely there will be no American killing. That seems ridiculous.

The "next time on" thing at the end confused me. He's fighting for freedom? I thought he was just after Templars. Does he only kill Brits in this game, or are there Americans he needs to take out too?

This all seems great, and it looks really fun, but for me its missing the point of AC. What about Desmond? I assume all the real stuff is supposed to be a secret, but I'd still like a little attention to real main story.

They said a few months ago that they don't want to spoil anything about Desmond's stuff, but it'll be wild and you'll play as him more than you ever have before. I totally missed that article that until a couple nights ago. I was worried because the Desmond stuff has always been hit-or-miss and they hadn't talked about it at all here, but now I'm pretty excited. Sounds like they are too.

I'm extremely excited about this, and I see no room for pessimism.

templars are anti freedom. Something that was in the first game that I VERY much miss is that both the assassins and templarswant peace. But the templars want to achieve human peace through control, assassins believe humanity needs to achieve peace on its own.

You know, I've noticed this as well. I wonder if it's something that when you're playing it you don't notice it or what. I think the maneuvering looks pretty smooth, but the combat looks pretty jank sometimes. Oh well, I'm still looking forward to playing it.

A thought: if that spike-rope thing (I didn't catch the actual name) is meant to hang people, wouldn't that imply cutting off air intake by obstructing their throat? If so, wouldn't they already be dead because there's a fucking spike through their throat?

But the rope has multiple uses. He said you can also throw it at someone to pull them closer to you.

It looks like they are really doing what they can to make some significant changes to the AC formula. Lets hope they smooth out the animation and keep the campaign fresh.

It's still funny thinking about Conor slaughtering hordes of soldiers with frigin guns, a single stray bullet and it's GG, lucky for conor he is in the matrix.

im so hyped for this game. im currently playing through the entire series and i really enjoy some ass creed.
