This looks good. I never had a problem with Tiny Tina and have said here numerous times I like the way she says "badonkadonks".

When was the last time we had a fantasy FPS anyway?

I finished the DLC and now I just need to complete the post ending side quests. I thought the ending was pretty good in how it dealt with coping with grief and loss.

This comment section is incredible. I mean, just for a trailer it's heating up. I LOVE IT!!

Also looking for something to get me back into some more Borderlands, that's not a new class, so I might check this out!

@bigdaddy81: Um excuse me who the fuck are you? seriously. Jeff is aloud to voice his opinion about whatever he chooses on this site. Not because this is his site, but because everyone is aloud to have a voice. Just because you don't agree with it doesnt mean you have to bitch, moan, wine ect.. about it. He wasn't even being ranty about it. Just a sentence to suggest what he thought and left it at that. So please, comment away, argue your opinion. Thats the point of the comment section, or rather the internet in general. But don't go around telling people what to think or when to speak. Who the fuck are you to do that?

Tiny Tina's hilarity was magical in Borderlands 2 but that's probably due to it being in such small doses. After downloading the Tiny Tina ringtones from Gearbox's website and sampling through them I went from thinking Tiny Tina was the funniest character in the franchise to "oh man these are massively annoying and I'm getting irritated listening to them".

To be fair though I think that can probably be said about any character when listening to their audio clips back to back. I hope the Tiny Tina DLC has more quality bits of dialogue to keep me laughing. The Borderlands franchise has always been in my wheelhouse humour wise, and the second game is even funnier than the first to me. Handsome Jack & Tiny Tina are frickin' hilarious. Pllllllbbbbbbbtttt!

EDIT: After just watching the trailer above I realized Handsome Jack isn't being voiced by the same guy from the main game or it's someone that sounds kinda like Handsome Jack but is a different character. Either way, kinda weak.

I did a couple of hours yesterday. The narration is mixed, it would seem. Only thing I can say is I am relearning Borderlands, and that it has the most mournful music I have heard in any game. Odd combo of the superficial and profound, like those creatures getting shot for their crystals.

PPl. kind of suck in Borderlands 2. It's a backwater planet to be sure...

Would be neat if I could buy this standalone. I have no interest in Borderlands as a whole but this DLC looks dope.

And fuck the haters, Tiny Tina is the best new character this generation.

Oh, Jeff's gone and done it now. He's expressed an opinion! About a video game! As a professional critic of video games, no less! I'm almost certain that's not literally the entire fucking vehicle for the foundation of this website.

Tina herself seems generally inoffensive as a character, but as I haven't played the game I have no real evidence either way.

Like the rest of the game, this DLC looks great, no need to shit on the humor, when that part of the game is so easy to ignore. Just pop on a podcast, mute all those obnoxious assholes and enjoy the game. I would love it if Gearbox could get some actual good writers and not just a random youtube celebrity to write their jokes, but whatever. It doesn't affect the gameplay and if other people like it more power to 'em.

JEFF KILLIN' SHIT OUT HERE GOT DAMN!

Yeah, Tiny Tina literally made me quit Borderlands 2 halfway through the game when I realized I'd have more than one mission dealing with her. Bad enough her brother is a terrible, cringeworthy writer, but she's the worst. I hate that family more than the Lannisters.

Guys: all video games are great and have zero problems. Or not. Wait, am I allowed to say that I like things or does that count as an opinion? So confusing!

Here's the thing. Anyone who uses this site and has played Borderlands already knows your opinion on this. Between the podcasts and other video content, you've made your disgust with the character quite clear. I just don't see what value it adds to any potential conversation about this upcoming DLC by reminding us of that. Maybe you don't peruse the Borderlands 2 forums very much but almost every thread that has to do with the story of the game inevitably devolves into this Tiny Tina hate-a-thon and has become very annoying.

Yes, you have an opinion that differs from mine. I am not saying you should agree with me, but I do believe there is a time and place for opposing viewpoints like this. Did you post on the Dark Souls 2 trailer to point out your already well-documented dislike of the game? Do you do this for every game you dislike?

Quoted for truth.

@basketsnake: As a fan of the story of MGS as well I'm not sure you grasp what BigDaddy81was trying to say.

It's all a matter of opinion and even though I disagree with his view of it I fully understand with his reasoning/example. Perfectly legitimate.

Did you post on the Dark Souls 2 trailer to point out your already well-documented dislike of the game? Do you do this for every game you dislike?

I'm going to go off on a little tangent here to better illustrate my point. Please bear with me.

I fucking hate the Metal Gear Solid franchise. I think the gameplay is horrible, the characters are dumb, and the story is just stupid convoluted nonsense. I've only actually only played maybe the first few hours of MGS2, but between that and everything I've just absorbed through various media about the game over the years, I believe I have enough to go on to make a value judgment of the game. And I think it's one of the stupidest franchises in gaming. I constantly roll my eyes whenever I hear the name "Revolver Ocelot" because that's such a dumb fucking name, I cringe when I hear people praise the games for their story and gameplay, and I dread the upcoming release of MGS5. But until I wrote this, nobody on this site knew of my extreme dislike for the franchise. I didn't post my thoughts when Giant Bomb put up the trailer for MGS5 during E3. Why not? It's my opinion and I am entitled to have it, so there's no reason for me not to share my opinion about the game when given the opportunity to do so.

But I didn't. Because that trailer wasn't for me. It was for the many, many fans of MGS who adore the franchise and for people that may have a passing interest in it. My opinion would have added nothing of value and would have just derailed the conversation. Now if someone started a topic like "What do you think of Metal Gear Solid 5?" or "What are your thoughts on the newest MGS game?" I would have been more likely to post my thoughts in there because the very nature of the questions are inviting differing viewpoints. I just don't think the comment section of a trailer is the place for this conversation.

Alright, end of tangent.

At the end of the day, I would just like a somewhat civilized conversation about Borderlands 2 that didn't end up being all about Tiny Tina. I had hoped that since the latest DLC featured her prominently, it would dissuade most of those who vehemently hate her from posting, and those that do post would get drowned out by those of us who don't see the character as an issue. When I saw your post, I saw it as a tacit endorsement for all those assholes to come out of the woodwork to remind us all that they don't like Tiny Tina. It just annoys me that the same people who spend their time bashing the character would feel the need to chime in on something they already have no interest in just for the sake of ruining the conversation.

So like I said, I'm sure I'll be hearing your opinion on the character again if there's any discussion about the new DLC this week on any of the content you put out. And if it is brought up, then the Tiny Tina drama will play itself out again in the comment section of that content, as it always does. But to you and those who share your opinion, can we please just have someplace to have a decent conversation on this topic that doesn't devolve into this mess? The trailer was for us, the fans of Tiny Tina (or people who can at least tolerate her) and not for you. There are many other avenues to express your opposing opinions but just let us have this one thing without you guys having to force your thoughts down our throats.

And you wanna know the most infuriating part of this whole thing? I don't even like this fucking game that much. The first Borderlands was way better.

@jeff: I'm not certain that people expect you to like everything, or to coat it with happiness and candy. The weirdest part of it all is literally the fact that you are commenting to begin with. It's an odd thing to see staff members partaking in the commentary of which they usually shrug off as pandering or inflammatory.

Not that this example is suppose to be taken literal, but for myself its comparable to when a King speaks on equal grounds to his peasants. It's so strange that some people naturally lash out.

Hell, if it weren't for others responding with your name, I would never have known it was you!

Hating on Tiny Tina has been a thing since the game came out, and I can see why. I just take BL2 for the silly game that it is, but some people seemed to be really put off by the way Tina spoke "street".

Why don't you get out of normal mode if you want to fight enemies at your level? You can play the DLC in True Vault Hunter Mode for lv 50 enemies or Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode for enemies in the 60s.

@jeff: I'm with you. Tiny Tina was one of those moments where they reached too far for a character. Either I'm getting old, or a lot of modern games are trying way too hard at their 'wacky' humour.

Loud isn't a setup, and 'random' isn't a punchline.

I'm surprised no one has expressed strong opinions on Tiny Tina. I mean, I know she's just a minor character with a few quests in the main game but it's weird to not hear anything about her on gaming forums.

It's bad enough that I was expecting to wade through a metric shit-ton of Tiny Tina hate, but to have it all start with a post from a staff member pisses me right off. I don't care if your intent was to troll the comment section or just to remind us all of your well documented hatred of the character, just please leave that stuff to the other 90% of this site's forum population who will no doubt chime in just to remind us all they don't like something that some of us actually enjoy.

Looking forward to the Bombcast where I hope you all discuss this DLC for a couple of minutes and then spend another 15 to 20 minutes sighing endlessly about the character in question. And thank god you guys always manage to agree on these things since it might kill the somber and depressing mood if someone else on staff had a dissenting opinion.

I don't mean to alarm you, but I think you're having a psychotic break.

@ripelivejam: Nope. 4 stars isn't abysmal crap. But if every single time he mentions the game, you'd have no idea that he gave it 4 stars. Like I said in an earlier post, Jeff and Ryan do like games like these, but they spend too much time talking about their negative aspects.

I liked Tiny Tina as well. I can see why some people wouldn't like her that much, but there are so few moments focused on her, you can ignore her anyway. Much like Claptrap.

I really liked Borderlands 2. It was infinitely better designed than the first game. The stuff people are doing with different builds is really nuts. I'm still having a lot of fun playing it. I liked all the DLC so far, I'm sure I'll like this too.

From what i have read people have been defending this game and tiny tina, it is mostly just the gb crew, and It seems Jeffs biggest problem with Borderlands 2 was that he played over 100 hours of Borderlands 1.

You must have read a different website than I did :) ... every mention of BL2 on this side ends up with people piling on the game for "not being funny" in a way that seems unresonable to me (minus the occasional positive comment) ... and if you dare to mention some of the chars like Tina you can multiply that by 10 ... this very comments section starts with jeff dismissing the DLC because of a character you hardly had any interaction with in the main game, hence the circlejerk.
