I don't know if I'm going to play this, but is it included in the season pass?

Posted by Jeff

Seems weird to undercut a pretty ambitious-looking add-on by having it narrated by the game's worst character.

@fargofallout: Yes its the last piece of DLC for the Season Pass

Posted by 2HeadedNinja

@fargofallout: Yes it is.

@jeff: Geeze ... really? Again? Just don't play it if you don't like her, there are enough "we hate Tiny Tina" threads already.

PASS.

Posted by Turkalurch

Man this looks fun. Might have to reinstall Borderlands 2 and pay the DLCs now. and what is it with the Tiny Tina hate? I fricken love that character! She's so fun and crazy, it's just great!

Posted by Spankmealotus

Is it just me or does it seem like there is a lot of game stuff coming out recently where game developers are like "Hey Dungeons and Dragons amirite guyz!"

@jeff: Now you're just baiting people on purpose :P

Ugh...I still have YET to buy that season pass.

Posted by Make_Me_Mad

This remains the only piece of Borderlands 2 DLC that's actually seemed like it might be good. I'll give it a shot later today.

Yes this is the 4th and final dlc that comes from having bought the season pass and apparently its some of the best content the game has ever had.

I have literally nothing else to play today so I guess I'll download this and see how it goes

It's bad enough that I was expecting to wade through a metric shit-ton of Tiny Tina hate, but to have it all start with a post from a staff member pisses me right off. I don't care if your intent was to troll the comment section or just to remind us all of your well documented hatred of the character, just please leave that stuff to the other 90% of this site's forum population who will no doubt chime in just to remind us all they don't like something that some of us actually enjoy.

Looking forward to the Bombcast where I hope you all discuss this DLC for a couple of minutes and then spend another 15 to 20 minutes sighing endlessly about the character in question. And thank god you guys always manage to agree on these things since it might kill the somber and depressing mood if someone else on staff had a dissenting opinion.

You're a haterbaiter!

@jeff: It's almost like the character's voice actor is the writer's sister.

Edited by ADAMWD

You guys should chill a bit, we all know Jeff doesn't like TT. But is he, or anyone, really not allowed to voice their opinion? All he said is that the material surrounding TT looks interesting but that the character, to him, is not. It's not like he said, "Anyone who likes TT is an idiot."

Posted by Yadilie

@jeff: Well this is why you should never buy a Season Pass. As the quality of what you get for the Season Pass is up in the air.

@bigdaddy81: And then there are people like you who have to for some reason chime in to say you hate that people have opinions and have to thrust your own opinion onto people. Just don't even bother posting if you're gonna passive aggressively whine like a child.

For some reason I have a season pass(I don't remember getting it) At any rate I think I will get this. Borderlands 2 dlc was boring the fuck out of me towards the end. Tina bothered me much less than that Teddy Roosevelt caricature who was missing most f his limbs for some kind of stupidity

Unless this dlc works miracles, I'm burnt on Borderlands as it now exists. RIP Roland.

One thing I will say for Tina, she has a lot of personality. I don't understand one bit of it, except she was a good girl and remembered to take her naps.

Posted by Thuggish

@make_me_mad: I didn't play the Captain Scarlet DLC (yet), but I can tell you that the Torque DLC was a lot of fun and extremely funny.

Posted by psilocybe

I don't mind Tiny Tina, but I've had my fill of Borderlands for a good long while. They really screwed the pooch on the loot drop rates. The omg I'm soo random humor has also run it's course. I'll blow through this on play through one just because I bought the season pass, and click delete local content as soon as it's done.

This doesn't seem terrible, but I am glad I didn't buy the season pass.

Look like Gearbox got their act together and just made the best dlc out of the 4.

I liked Tiny Tina, I thought she was funny so I'm looking forward to this.

@metalsnakezero: This is the only DLC for Borderlands 2 that Gearbox made themselves. The other three were outsourced.

@bigdaddy81: Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that I only existed to validate the things that you like. I'll be sure to keep my opinions to myself from here on out!

Guys: all video games are great and have zero problems. Or not. Wait, am I allowed to say that I like things or does that count as an opinion? So confusing!

Now say that you love Nights: into dreams and Yoshi's Island, SAY IT!!!!!

@jeff: Dammit, Jeff! You know full well that you're only allowed to dislike the things that gamers agree to dislike (and constantly threaten to boycott) at the bi-monthly meetings held on Reddit and other popular forums of videogame "discussion" (aka bitching). Tiny Tina spouts a bunch of lame, lazily written, LONG unfunny one-liners. But, she's a little girl voiced by a quasi-popular internet personality, so it's hilarious, and gamers love that shit. Any sort of dissenting opinion that contradicts this is unwelcome and will lead to a bunch of uncalled for personal attacks. How long have you been in the games business?

Posted by DJKommunist

@jeff: I didn't know Jack narrated this

Oh no, of course you have the right to express your opinion. It's your website, after all. I kinda feel dumb even having to mention something that obvious.

But hell, we almost never hear you actually talking about something you like (un-ironically). Even when you do talk about things you genuinely enjoy, there's pretty much no enthusiasm behind it and it feels like a passing judgement. Compare that to when you talk about stuff you hate - that turns out to be a full-on soapbox rant.

Being critical about media is fine, but the problem with you (and Ryan, to an extent) is that you guys kinda spend way too much time on the negative stuff.

its a tough balancing act,

too much positive and you dont get enough critical . too much negative and then its just dogpiling and then said piece of content stops being entertaining

example, the podcast where they HEAVILY talked grim about shooters and next gen (its the one where the talked about fuse) was goddamm depressing.

but then last weeks podcast where they wished patrick off was one of the best ones in a while.

I think Tiny Tina can be pretty funny and this expansion looks like their best one by far. Apparently this one is supposed to be something like 15 hours long. I don't know how that ranks compared to their other DLC but that seems like a nice deal.

I see the GB crew circlejerk is in full effect :) ... how many of the people that are shitting all over this DLC actually played it?

@mrfluke:

Yeah, fair point. The last Bombcast was hilarious, especially the bit about Mario.

Can you point out where someone has 'shit all over this DLC' from any of the comments here? I couldn't find any myself.

From what i have read people have been defending this game and tiny tina, it is mostly just the gb crew, and It seems Jeffs biggest problem with Borderlands 2 was that he played over 100 hours of Borderlands 1.

Posted by Parsnip

Tiny Tina wasn't funny, but then again most of BL2 was that way, so par for the course I guess.

Posted by Efesell

I've found the Borderlands 2 DLC to be pretty damn strong overall, and Tiny Tina was a fun character. This sounds like it could be really good.

Now if I could only get by the problem of having played way too fuckin much Borderlands.

You must have read a different website than I did :) ... every mention of BL2 on this side ends up with people piling on the game for "not being funny" in a way that seems unresonable to me (minus the occasional positive comment) ... and if you dare to mention some of the chars like Tina you can multiply that by 10 ... this very comments section starts with jeff dismissing the DLC because of a character you hardly had any interaction with in the main game, hence the circlejerk.

I liked Tiny Tina as well. I can see why some people wouldn't like her that much, but there are so few moments focused on her, you can ignore her anyway. Much like Claptrap.

I really liked Borderlands 2. It was infinitely better designed than the first game. The stuff people are doing with different builds is really nuts. I'm still having a lot of fun playing it. I liked all the DLC so far, I'm sure I'll like this too.

JEFF KILLIN' SHIT OUT HERE GOT DAMN!

Yeah, Tiny Tina literally made me quit Borderlands 2 halfway through the game when I realized I'd have more than one mission dealing with her. Bad enough her brother is a terrible, cringeworthy writer, but she's the worst. I hate that family more than the Lannisters.

This game is a definite pass, I'll get my D&D kicks elsewhere.

EDIT: These Tiny Tina fans are probably all hebephiles.

Why are a bunch of you losing your fucking minds over the fact that Jeff doesn't like Tiny Tina?
