TV Comes to the Wii U Via Nintendo TVii

Slowly.. slowly... slowly losing interest in the Wii U.

This will be the last Nintendo console. Mark my words.

Looks pretty sweet. It's not revolutionary, but I see nothing wrong about having my WiiPad control my entire media library as a plus for owning the system.

TVii? Seriously? I know it's thematic to the brand but still...

So everything I've seen so far with the WiiU looks like garbage. Disappointing, but then hardly unexpected at this point.

The hardware is obsolete out the gate I just don't think Nintendo even understand why the Wii sold well in the first place anyway. Its looking more and more like Nintendo will end up as a third party producing games on other consoles in the future. They just don't seem to have a clue what they are doing, even when they do something that sells they obviously don't understand how to replicate it.

If by some weird twist of reality the WiiU is even remotely successful after its first year I will be shocked.

I actually like what they have to offer for this TVii. Hell the fact that I can get up to date info on college football games on there is enough to get me tempted in getting a WiiU. But then again, that name alone is one of the biggest turn offs for marketing any game console.

I go to LSU, and that screen shot of LSU vs Alabama was clearly shooped. I can tell by the points. We don't lose to them, lol. Crazy... that Beyonetta 2 exclusive. I wonder how much they had to pay for that.

The music, the leftover Kinect ad living room set. This trailer isn't FOR us, it's for the white parents who think they're being kept up to date on what's hot and dope and killerad. "Hmm, The WiiU. It has the games my children love AND I can watch reruns of The Big Bang Theory with it. Interesting."

It's also very telling that this service is US-exclusive. Japan and EU won't get this (probably because we don't have Netflix, Amazon video, TiVo and all those crazy TV things that tie into this).

But man did they spend an awful long time on this yesterday ... I felt like I was trapped in a Microsoft E3 press conference lol.

While chatting with a Nintendo rep today, I was informed that STF U is a Wii U exclusive.

Why is everyone hating on this? If it actually functions like they just advertised it... it's pretty interesting and could change up how we interact with TV. I might be interested if it shakes out to be a good way to watch TV.

Am I the only person that is excited about having another device connected to my Tivo? Am I the only person who still has a Tivo? Very likely.

Holy shit. People still use TiVo? Also, Nintendo seems to have lost all direction for this one. Here's hoping they just become a 3rd party developer after this garbage.

Pretty interesting idea coming from Nintendo and it could be really cool if it's made well. Are there any tablets/phones that can work like universal remotes while also displaying content information (I know there are general remote apps)? But man the Pad moves slow.

Samsung has their Peel App, which is basically a digital TV Guide. And their tablets all have IR Blasters so you can control your cable box.

I just want a box I can play exclusive, unique, and crazy Japanese games on. Instead we are getting a poor mans media center with last years games slightly modified games so you can use a tablet for the menus.

The actual Wii-U TVII application itself is free. Do you have to be subscribed to Netflix etc? Of course, but nobody is forcing you to pay for it or for the TV stuff. It's like getting upset that XBLA has zune marketplace or netflix/hulu. These aren't just gaming devices anymore they are entertainment devices.

I think it's funny how choppy the scrolling/swiping transitions look even in their own press material

Its N-Gage not Engage, and yes that was also a failed handheld device
