I was trying to describe this to a co-worker and he said "oh, like Amazon's Xray video service? where when you pause a movie it offers up IMDB details on everyone who is onscreen?" and i was like WHAAAAT?

if it has that, then that aspect will be pretty rad. because I already want that. (and i don't want to buy a kindle fire to get it).

My family mostly uses the wii to watch netflix on the living room tv these days. So this TVii idea does sound pretty logical. (i have a pimped out gaming setup in the basement. which is basically my version of a creepy trains room.).

I don't have any interest in live TV though. hate commercials. Kinda suprised they didn't just go with "Viideo" as name. ... but i guess the idea is to confuse people about what Wii2 will do to their everyday TV experience. hmmf. do you pronounce it "Tee-Vie"?

Although i probably won't use most of it, it is still a nice FREE extra. Amusing how people get upset over free extras with their console.

Rotary phone style UI seems a little strange but all in all it looks like a good and simple way to watch media with one simple remote controlling it all. The profile stuff was pretty neat as well. Though I will forever call it "Nintendo TV ee".

It seems pretty exciting to me. I mean, are there any other set top boxes that integrate all of these services? Who isn't annoyed by the footwork necessary to find what shows/movies are on what services? It seems a better alternative than searching each application separately. I fail to see how anyone could be negative about this.

I thought that just offered the informational overlay when watching video. This offers simultaneous search of multiple services rather than requiring you to access each application separately.

This seems like a great service...if you don't live in Canada.

You do need to pay 10 extra dollars a month for the pleasure, though. I stopped using my Xbox 360 entirely because of that bullshit. Also Ads. Everyone loves loud ads that take up screen space on a service you pay for.

There are a lot of options out there already to replace my overpriced cable box, however this is a great excuse to ditch cable and get a Wii U at the same time. First time something like this has been appealing.
