The game looks fantastic.

I'll be playing this game.  But I will be super disappointed if I can't hold my dual light-sabers upside down "Shien" style.

You prove quite a few of my points here though. You seem to totally forget how wow looked in Alpha. Go Google, The models were utter crap compared to how they looked late beta and live. From alpha to live WOW changed massivly and over time the graphics have been improved on. Wow looked nothing like it did now. If you had the WOW alpha video here right now you would be saying the exact same comments about the graphics.  Finally - The Whole "its trying to be wow" Is just plain stupid as well. Much of what WOW did and has done is nothing new, plenty of MMO's out there before this. Galaxies was out before WOW. So any New MMO is just going to be a WOW copy? Don't be silly. And, oh yeah - To say Bioware has no real game development in the future is just plain stupid. Will this work? Who knows. Will it hurt Bioware? No. With the games they have coming out and the team they have the doctors are LOADED! ( I ignored the star wars comments as they were childish)  Really just think before you post. Yeah you can comment that you do not think it looks great but the rest of your opinion is formed on an unfished product with a lot of fan boy of another product thrown in. People like yourself seem to forget a lot of things. WOW is the best MMO that has ever come out BUT remember...  1. Was wow the first MMO? NO 2. Was wow the first to do much of what it had at launch? NO 3. Did it do many of these better? Yes 4. Did wow look or play as it does now or a year ago at launch? NO 5. Has wow had time to grow? Yes 6. Did wow look good in Alpha or much of beta? No 7. Is it the most graphically to date? NO, it looks good but it is probably not even in the top 3 for looks. 8. Is wow Enjoyable? Yes and NO 9. Has it always been right, things done always the best way to do? NO  You can apply those same things and more to every MMO. It is what you do with it, can you engage the player and like I said in the other posts key points need to be met. WOW did this, Other games like Conan who failed to provide end user content failed as a result of this and other things.  Judge it after you try it or see it at launch, Make comments and concerns now, please do that is why they show these things off. Have the attitude and lack of thought like you have here - No thank you.  I am not putting you down here, Just trying to point out exactly what I and others have said before in all sorts of things. Your making a lot of judgements, a lot of silly comments with no thought to what your seeing or saying. "

Prime example of people who do not think. Game is not even in a beta form yet. Of course it does not look good. If you make software look pretty before you make it work your a bad developer in any industry. Yes Design and function come hand in hand but if your sitting there making everything looking sweet as before it is actually functional - Your an idiot. To then comment on how it looks when it is not even in beta is, well, along the same likes.  The whole comment about ripping off mass effect made me laugh, It is like saying A band's new single is a ripp off of their last one. So Even though things in mass effect was a hit, worked well, got great feedback from it they should not use it in a game where it would work well? lol   Look at who are Vivendi and what they are/do and who you actually were thinking of. When you realise that error then have a think what else that company is doing. While yes, they do not do many. It is not one. The last comment about development is just full on daft tbh. "

It does look good.  I really dont like monthly subscriptions to games, but..........

the graphics look good for an MMO...
people have to remember that MMO's don't normally push the graphics because they want a wide user-base to be playing their game.
 
The system requirements probobly aren't that high, and the art style they chose isn't horrible.
 
The gameplay looks good, the character classes also look cool... but the real star of the show is the story and the voice acting.  That looks fucking amazing, and it's what I've wanted out of an MMO ever since I've started playing them!

This game is looking amazing.  If they are able to pull off everything they are trying, this game is going to rock.

You're criticizing an alpha version for not being polished? Seriously? Please learn about the stages of game development before making any judgment on the way the game looks and feels. The primary objective at the beginning of development, or in alpha and early beta, is nailing down game play and basic concepts. After this is completed,  then they will move on to polish the more aesthetic aspects of the game. "

I like their style of MMO

would have liked a more minimalist UI, feels like it takes up too much space at the bottom of the screen. graphics and gameplay looks as old as City Of Heroes or Matrix Online. I'm still very skeptical just how much is actually going to be packed into the game. Storytelling can only go so far.

dont want 2 troll or sound pessimistic but i SERIOUSLY doubt theyll pull this off and even if they do they will have a real hard-ass time beating world of warcraft with the number of subscribers

Seems they show the same scenes again and again with only minor changes. Guess they don't have anything more of the game finished. They showed the same stuff at PAX and before that at E3 or whatever it was.

This game looks kinda cool but I have a few problems with it. 
 
First the art style: I really really like the settings and how they look but all of the smaller objects and all of the people look extremely clean to the point were it looks too cartoonish. Things should look like they have actually been used, have a bit more wear and tear on the clothes and stuff. It looks a bit too childish to have that epic feeling I want in an MMO. 
 
Second is being overpowerd: Now I understand that they want you to feel like you are a star wars hero but they dont compencate with more guys to fight. I felt like the characters felt powerfull but there wasnt enough enemies to pose a real threat. Also, did anyone else feel like they took care of that Jedi Knight way way to easily, he barely lost 1/10 of his health. When I fight a Jedi (or a Sith) I want the battle to feel grand and important not easy to the point where i could do it in my sleep.

My number one game for 2010.  I love this video although it was on Giant Bomb a while ago in the Old Republic forums.  Still this is my 4th or 5th time watching it.  Very excited to see more from this game.  I wonder, will all Sith have English accents?
