They could have cleaned it off first, but I guess they have an obligation with that Doritos sponsership to remind people of crisps at every waking moment

I guess by releasing a bunch of stuff that really isn't news it's one way to keep people talking about your product and also dumping information so people don't ask real questions.

Only thing I like the sound of is the impulse triggers. I don't get why they are hyping the controller so hard if its just a refinement not a new design.

Looks like you wouldn't be good at marketing a product then.

"Hey Major Nelson, time to shoot an unboxing video. Here's a sealed Xbox One. Tear it open as fast as possible. The shorter, the better."

"Hey Major Nelson, time to talk in excruciatingly long detail about buttons. Take your time."

Sometimes I just don't understand Microsoft.

I would've really appreciated a little candid honesty when they brought up the d-pad. It would've been real nice (and funny) if instead saying "How did we make the d-pad even better?" Hyrb said something along the lines of "So how did we fix that lousy d-pad?".

I will say that I do enjoy seeing the genuine enthusiasm that engineers almost always show when discussing the hardware they've been slaving away on.

I will say that I do enjoy seeing the authentic enthusiasm that engineers almost always show when discussing the hardware they've been slaving away on.

That guy got me more excited than any of the other corporate folks at MS have yet. It's sad that there must be hundreds of people just like him, enthusiastic and brilliant, and their potentially cool product gets fucked over by archaic corporate attitudes.

Is Major Nelson angry or sleepy? Either way, dude is not good on video. Stick to the tweets, Larry!

I'm currently using a PS3 controller for PC gaming. I would much prefer to be using a 360 controller but I have no wired ones and the wireless dongles have been hard to find in Canada.

Anyone have any details regarding how/if the new XBox One controllers are going to work with the PC?

They say in the video that when you plug a Micro USB cable in the wireless transmitter shuts off and it acts as a wired controller.

Maybe he'll get his due when MS makes heaps of dough from PC players buying new controllers :)

They should just dump all their PR and marketing guys in the toilet and do a crazy "The Engineers of XBox One" campaign.

@thelegendofmart: That is a much better situation for sure, but I'm more curious if there will be an easy way of using it wirelessly - or if the additional wireless dongle will be made more available in more regions.

It uses Wifi Direct protocol, it will probably require a dongle of some sort.

Yeah I was surprised, he was a lot easier to listen to than that other guy.

Also probably getting one of these for use on my PC.

105 people worked on designing that controller, and Alam said that MS spent hundreds of millions improving it in an interview. I want to see how few people worked on the DS4 and how little they spent on it.

I'm excited to try out (and no doubt buy it for the sake of) the trigger-rumble but dear lord that is an ugly ass joypad seemingly designed for 99% function and 1% form.

Much like their desperate PR, shill-farming, astro-turfing.

Sometimes I just don't understand Microsoft.

I was thinking the exact same thing, lol.

This is pathetic they have to keep the hype going this strong. Microsoft is desperate putting a guy who sounds like he got kicked in the balls with that high high "oh heyyyyy gurrrllll" of Major Nelson plugging the Xbone.

edit: and the Indian guy.. thanks Microsoft for reminding us nobody in America is making or developing this thing. It's just a "thing" to keep entitled brats from wetting the bed at night.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

I would've really appreciated a little candid honesty when they brought up the d-pad. It would've been real nice (and funny) if instead saying "How did we make the d-pad even better?" Hyrb said something along the lines of "So how did we fix that lousy d-pad?".

I would say that is completely understandable, but with the actual mindset their target audience for this is, it would be like committing suicide. A mature, upstanding community could tolerate and appreciate candid honesty, but the state of the general community - well, can't.

@stringbacon: @phantomv48: @manicmyna: Transpalent aluminum probably refers to the same technology that Koenigsegg use in the dashboards of their cars. Meaning aluminum milled so precisely that light can pass through the metal.
