@assinass: Huh, how weirdly appropriate, I just started replaying Grandia II today. Well, that does give me some hope.

They've said Grandia 2 is their inspiration for specifically the combat, so let's not judge the depth too quickly.

For some reason I thought this game wasn't out for like another year, so that's cool to hear.

I don't know why, but this game looks incredibly boring to me. I like painterly artstyles and am generally a sucker for indie shit, but this just seems like a watered-down Costume Quest-style take on JRPGs and I retrospectively hate myself for buying and playing all of that one (so about 3 hours).

I didn't say I had trouble understanding him. I said it sounds terrible.

@a_cute_squirtle: It may be that I too often hear the notion that there's some sweet spot of self-recognition between passing your work off as a farce and elevating it to monumental standards, rather than a wide spectrum of totally acceptable attitudes. As long as you're not dismissing the game because of a too-precious line in a trailer, I guess I can't fault you for being irked.

This will probably be the first game I get on my xbox one.

Really? Although there most certainly was an accent present, I had no trouble understanding what they were saying. Then again, I'm European so my English will likely sound terrible to your delicate ears.

I think this looks really interesting.

I am of two minds on the co-op part of the game. Depending on how its used, it could be a welcome addition or a single-player annoyance if things end up gated.

Game looks amazing. Props to Ubisoft for still supporting these types of projects among all of the AAA stuff they churn out. These kinds of games can't make any time of serious money for them.
