Ubisoft Walks You Through Assassin's Creed IV's World

I liked the part where he reminded us that he's stabbing dudes with their own swords 3 seconds after he stabbed a dude with his own sword. Thanks guy for touting the same mechanics you've had for the last four games.

Well, there's no grappling hook, so Just Cause 2 is still more appealing :)

Wow! This really does look like a massively open-world game. I love that you can Harpoon sharks, and even swim in underwater areas.

I was disappointed in Assassins Creed 3, but this looks exciting. I think I'm going to pre-order it.

I agree with people who think it looks janky. The combat doesn't look refined at all either, with enemies just idly standing by waiting for you to attack them (...same shit since AC1).

I can't quite put my finger on it but this game just seems so janky. The "stealth" sequences make the ai look like the dumbest thumb-up-their-asses pirates I've ever seen. The whole game looks like a series of alright ideas crammed up against one another with some weird transitions between them.

Hopefully this leads to a renaissance in Pirate based video games. I need something to do while I listen to all this Alestorm!

At least this one looks a lil different... Same old over and over. They made it like Far Cry 3 and Splinter Cell.

Yeah. I do have this pre-ordered but... I just don't know if I can keep supporting this series. It might be time to let go. It might be time to cancel the pre-order.

My interest in playing ac games peaked with Brotherhood. Count me out for this one too.

I know AC3 was disappointing, but the level of negativity in these comments is a bit nuts. It lookes fine. Seems like they are showing the PS3 version, so the graphics are a bit rough, but the gameplay seemed interesting. All of this is just side quest type stuff anyway.

Anyone else think Edward Kenway kind of looks like Heath Ledger?

...Anyway, I think this game looks alright. AC3's worst parts were it's main story quests, all the pirate stuff actually wasnt that bad. This game looks like it's mechanics and gameplay over story which is great.

And yet Watch Dogs looks like concepts that sound fun but look boring and that seems to be getting all the hype. Oh well, personal preferences I guess.

Okay I'll say a little more about the PAX trailer. They gave out blow-up cutlasses and told people to wave them around and yell "ARR" when people saw something awesome. I didn't hear a single Arr. I thought there were some cool parts, but I have a little bit of dignity.

Resident evil 4 was awesome.

Dudes still standing around while you fight one at a time. Looks cool though.

Can't preorder this after AC3 was such a mess. But if it lives up to the marketing after release, I'd give AC another shot.

Yay 2007 level Crysis water. It only took 6 years! Okay okay, it's a little better. But not 6 years better.

and this just looks like an average looking PC game. Lots of aliasing, so-so faces and foliage. I'm more excited for seeing what Naughty Dog come up with as they were truly the masters of the PS3.

Witcher 2 still puts nearly all games to shame. Real talk.

Can someone please tell me i if the ORIGINAL concept of the games was hunting whales? Hunting sharks with a harpoon is odd, that is not really how you'd do it. It seems like a game mechanic they made for hunting whales but then someone said in a meeting, "Crap we can't hunt whales...SO MANY people will be pissed!"

I watched this demo at PAX. I'm glad I didn't wait in line for it, I'll just say that.

Boy does that harpoon sequence look like the sequence on the lake in RE4. Down to 'get-pulled-along-for-a-while-now-harpoon-from-a-stationary-boat' mechanic.

I beat Revelations and as much as I'd like to say you missed out.. ehh.. They kinda screwed up Altairs story and he was still my favorite of the two. Ezio's story kinda ends weakly as well. It was an alright AC game, but zero innovation.

After playing all AC games. I gave up on AC during Revelations (after that tower defence bit; I was done). I see nothing here to warrant re-immersing myself. :(
