It only took two weeks to break Alex, wonderful! I haven't laughted at a quick look like this in a while.

I don't usually get annoyed at watching other people play puzzle games, but two adults not understanding the usage of one of the English language's most basic words got to me. But, judging from the rest of the comments, this game has more issues than just paying too much attention to wording.

To everyone saying that he should be more specific and not say "the briefcase" the way the commands seem to work in this game is you say something general and then *click* on what you want it to do it to. So he would say "get the briefcase" and then click on the green one.

This game is such a piece of trash. The robots should not be so dumb. Siri and Google Now are currently existing technology and both recognise context without you having to rattle it off every time. I know it's just a game but if you're going to design your whole game around interacting with a high tech future, it shouldn't be as crappy as technology from the early 2000s. Aside from which, the game itself leads you to believe things have to be done as sequences based on the stupidly restrictive instructions Mike knows - it's a violation of common sense to need to give him more complicated instructions for ostensibly the same task. This isn't a voice control issue, this is just crappy interface logic.

I never can grasp the idea of being colorblind. Do these people see world as other does ? Or they just cant name the colors

There was a video (I think UPF?) where they did a color blindness test. It was pretty fun to watch Vinny try it.

I like to imagine this is what it is like in an amazon warehouse, thousands of dollars of damage and maybe 1% of orders ever fulfilled.

Different types of colorblindness, but typically it involves multiple colors looking exactly the same. Imagine if the color of grass and something pink looked the same. Either green things are a pinkish hue as are pinkish things, or Pink things are greenish as are green things.

For the record, the controls were bad so i'm not sure it mattered. Wednesday was the day, which was a green sticker, on a green briefcase, this is the one with the bomb.

unfinished... you don't say?

Posted by SalmonHunter

am I crazy or does the bomb briefcase (or any possible bomb briefcase) not really look green. (green like the one the guy was carrying).

So here's a fucking enlightening quote from a developer on the game that I think I found on a random game news site:

About "pick up the Green Suitecase" indeed: I don't like spoilers, but did you pay attention to the news in the airport? And did you notice the guy who boarded the hovercraft taxi? Was he carrying anything? And what if you saw a guy looking like him and dressed like him, when YOU landed, carrying a green briefcase?

In other words, I think the people who made this game are FUCKING CRAZY. That's probably harsh, but that's a pretty hilarious thing to expect players to pay attention to.

And to anyone else who tries and fails at this and wants to succeed, it's the BIG briefcase looking thing. Just, look at Agent 47 at the beginning of the sequence.

That is hilarious.

A game of this nature really demands an elaborate tutorialization; the intro chapters at the very least should clearly show all of the commands needed in order to accomplish the task at hand, otherwise it kind of renders the entire thing moot if the game can't understand multiple ways to perform single actions.

I'm sure the project needs early access to iron these things out, though this looks just a little too early. The constant and totally unnecessary dictionary definitions for everything is pretty amusing though.

Oh god here we go again....

I'll ask again..... Why do you do this to yourselves? lol

Unfinished is a video series where the Giant Bomb editors play a game on Steam Early Access for the enjoyment of others.

@dfl017: @jarmahead: Wait, are you telling me they were supposed to be looking for a green suitcase the whole time? Even though the game explicitly says "look for a green briefcase"? Holy shit.

It's possible all these robots conspired to kill themselves and the humans that depend on them by being so misleading and uncooperative, like as a really passive-aggressive attempt at an uprising.

When red or green (depends on level of colorblindness) mixes with other colors then that red or green become much less visible, so as a result, purple is often just blue because the red in it is harder to see. Or when green goes too far to the left of the spectrum or too bright it just turns yellow very quickly. I is colorblind. They really should have avoided the word "bllind" when describing it because it confuses people.

This is the kind of thing you'd notice in a movie on the second watch. You don't know you're supposed to pay attention to that guy and his luggage, so why would you?

How did his suitcase even end up in that baggage room if he was holding it there? That baggage room does not seem to have a place where you can deposit your baggage, only receive it after it has been delivered there from some other entry point from the airplane?

What a terrible idea for a video game, even if it wasn't broken.

Posted by Michiduta

The game has a good premise and a lot of potential, but as of this moment it still has a loooong way to go.

My suggestion is that no matter how you say it, it would be best if it always asked which one/where and expected you to click on the what/where/who you want (no matter the object/shelf/place/location/etc). That way it would be easier to direct the robot to do what you already know it has to do and reduce the number of issues that may arise by assigning 'the' or anything of the sort to a previously used object/location/etc.

Other than that, that was a good showing of the game. By doing the training properly I feel like it recognized the words a lot better than in the other stream/video but still not good enough.

I would have loved to see the pepper grinder switch solved in this video but I guess you had enough of the pepper grinder for a good while.

Thanks Vinny and Alex and may you make more awesome quicklooks/unfinished/etc for us to enjoy.

Shall I tell you what this game reminds me overwhelmingly of? Douglas Adams's Starship Titanic. You had to converse with a load of robots in that game too, all of whom had a unique dialogue which you could ask anything, in the same way as Bot Colony. It worked just about as well as Bot Colony does.

This is possibly my favorite piece of video content on Giant Bomb. I laughed til I cried.

BEAST should just be them playing this game every day. The hilarious misinterpretations that pop up at the bottom during regular conversation are funny enough that these are already my favorite videos on the site. Plus, how else will I ever find out Did You Mean?

I am sorry, michiduta. I don't understand.

This game has you indirectly controlling robots who do the actual things, and the things they do are mundane. A more efficient way of doing things would be to take care of the mundane things yourself. How is the premise of indirect control via voice that doesn't work (it was not fucking better this time) good? Let's pretend for a moment it did work, how is indirectly controlling a robot to do mundane things a good premise?

If this is how our future turns into, I will be first in line to buy a bazooka from Guam Wal-Mart and blow myself up before I have to deal with any Jimmy/Mary/Mike robot bullshit.

My Dad had some trouble with red and green, traffic lights most tellingly. I think he used luminosity and color placement to know which light was on.

I can't blame Vinny or Alex for assuming that "the briefcase" would allow them to designate which briefcase to pick up every time, especially after the first. No person in their right mind would assume that the robots would remember things that occurred after a checkpoint.

It's going to be a while before this game is smooth enough to be playable by a completely new player.

All hail Vinagawa McCaravellaburgito, the greatest Irish-Italian-Japanese-American-Saiyan-Bot the world has ever seen. He has the patience of a super saint.

I just like how Vinny said "oh it's agent 47 here to assassinate someone", ant that shot of him getting into the taxi was actually relevant.
