This looks cool but the handling seems bad, dunno. Too drifty. Gonna wait for the reviews.

36:25... 36:25!

Oh Lord, I lost it at 36:30. And Drew's fantastic off-the-cuff jokes certainly helped. Wow.

Ben Foster is a bad guy?

Posted by blacklab

wow, this could be fantastic.

@likeassur I'm referring to terrain. Michigan be flat, yo.

Posted by theimmortalbum

Wow, I'm shocked. This looks pretty good.

This game has that arcade drift feel. Sweet mercy I want this.

Ubisoft loves that digital grunge aesthetic with staticky logos and shit lately.

Assassin's Creed

Watch Dogs

The Crew

Cool man, a NFS game thats not NFS. I can respect that.

Edited by Tomba_be

Aw come on. This could have been a fun 'Gummball race: The Game' game. But then they dump this horrible "shizzle for my whizzle yo whatup man" story bullshit in there. I wonder if they actually think that's cool or if they put in in there ironically....

I'm the kind of person that enjoys just driving around the town in GTA, enjoying the scenery. I'd love a game that just hands me a bunch of cars and a few thousand miles of open road.

To all the people complaining about being temp banned.

What did you think would happen? What would you have them do?

Obviously, they have to protect themselves from bots and optimistic people attempting to brute force the activation for free vidyagames. The fact that it's only a 60 minute ban sounds very sound to me. It blocks you for a little while but not for long enough that it will be a nightmare.

Don't hate the player, hate the game... wait... uhm...

Sorry but, no. You ban people for trying to enter invalid keys, banning them for trying valid keys (which just have already been used) is the complete wrong way to go about this.

Because there are quite a few websites out there that give out codes in a huge batches, forcing people to try trough most of them to catch one that's still working.

Guess nobody at Ubisoft ever thought that far, they probably don't even track used keys, because to my knowledge not even EA's Origin has done something that stupid and broken.

Whatever. I'm a Wankel engine. 1.

My devil's advocate retort to this would be that this is the fault of people making give aways. But... this is Ubisoft giving away keys to its own game. So, yeah, I concede to you having a point there.

However, maybe this is a more complicated matter than just switching on or off a button somewhere. Maybe they find the annoyance of temp bans less aggrevating than potential key theft. Who knows.

The cops are slightly better than the ones in Most Wanted 2012 at not sucking.

Kanji, is that you? Can you say "Get Bent"?

Drew's impression of Janine from Ghostbusters has sold me on this game.

well since it didnt work for me, this will have to do

That map is fucking huge! The story and dialogue seem painfully bad though.

Edited by leem101

i was hoping they'd just drive to san francisco aww well

That's not all all that far removed from the plot of the Need for Speed movie.

pleasantly surprised, this might actually be good

QL starts with a Bloc Party song. Clearly this is the best game of all time.

Fuck microtransactions!

Posted by Luck702

This game actually seems alright. I'm not a huge arcade racing game guy, but this looks decent. Good sense of speed that a lot of games lack.

What's going on with the video quality recently? One or two videos and I could look past it but it's actually getting worse rather than better since that Fifa video

From what I've seen in this quick look and the couple of Gamespot streams, this game is looking really cool. I've never seen what this game looks like until this week, but the recent gameplay footage of the beta looks encouraging. As a fan of open world games and arcade racers, this is definitely on my list.

Story looks dumb, but whatever. If I can drive up mountains with my friends, then I can ignore a shitty narrative.

Also, fuck Uplay.

"That's for Britain, V2!" - Drew Scanlon

You've really outdone yourself this time, @drewbert! Wow.

Edited by beatnik11

I came into this expecting at best a mediocre open worldish racing game, but it looks much more interesting than I ever would have expected. Im quite surprised at how large the map seems to be even though some of the city placement seems a bit goofy

Posted by ManlyBeast

WOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Posted by heatDrive88

Holy shit, @drewbert and his off the cuff impersonation of Annie Potts/Janine Melnitz.

Just off the heels of Cara Ellison doing her impersonation on last week's GBEast stream. Amazing.

I recognize some of those landmarks and building in St. Louis

Also a European The Crew would be way more interesting with the varying locals

Posted by Se7enKnights

Looks like Fast and Furious the video game in a massive open world, if it comes together I'm in.

Posted by Sessh

Would never have thought so, but this does actually seem interesting to me. I really like the scale and the skill challenge stuff.

Also that was no squirrel in the woods at the end, that was a some kind of mysterious fox.

Posted by SternOne

Ubisoft - butchering realistic depictions of America and American cities since 2014. Watch Dogs at least pretended that Chicago was next to Lake Michigan (oh and its near mountains and its on an island but who knows maybe its Canadian Chicago). But that map of the midwest in the beginning of this video? Wow. Terrible.

Edited by HatKing

The roads they were on heading to St Louis didn't feel anything like what I've seen driving around these parts. They got the cornfields and small towns, but we have fucking highways.

This game looks really rad though. Although I really fucking hate the way that these sorts of games don't want to let you flip over. It makes it look like shit when you get in really gnarly wrecks.

Posted by Bunny_Fire

36:35 awesome ... did not know this was coming out on PC my favorite racing game is Test Drive Unlimited 2 so since this is open world im going to buy it i guess

Posted by Raven10

@brianp: In case no one replied to you, I can confirm you can drive from one side of the country to the other. If you go over to Gamespot Danny did a live stream and it took him an hour and fifteen minutes to get from Detroit to San Fransisco. That includes plenty of crashing and stopping in a couple cities to check how accurate it was (it was compressed but really accurate according to the people he had on who lived in the cities). Jeff's guess of an hour for going from coast to coast without stopping is probably accurate while going from Miami to San Fransisco probably would take something like 2 hours.

Posted by Strife777

Game looks alright, but that part modification stuff where you see all the insides of the car is fucking awesome! It's great that they modeled all that stuff.

I also have to say, as much as I love Troy Baker, I wish people would make him talk a little different than just his regular voice. He's so easily recognisable that it's getting a little distracting, as much as Nolan North used to be.

Couldn't stop laughing at 36 mins.

Does to game take place inside of one of the light houses and Booker Dewitt is a hardcore racing fiend? Also this looks incredible, only racing games I've liked was Test Drive Unlimited, Burnout Paradise and Forza Horizon this is right up my alley
