@happenstance: That shit keeps happening to me all the time. Just shows how close these guys were, and no matter how much pain we're feeling by Ryan's loss, these guys are feeling it a hundred times worse.

I know this is 'Unprofessional Fridays' but I dont think Final Fantasy 14-2 was given a fair shake here. I guess it's more of an issue with how Giantbomb is a site that just shoots for the laughs and they dont try at all to show the appeal/positives of a game they don't care about.

Like why even choose to showcase this game Brad? You know what, Brad always makes poor chooses for this segment. Dude just doesn't care enough to prepare and compel.

watching Drew dropping Churchill Eisenhower (I'm not much of a WWII guy!!) speeches into DOS was amazing.

dave is the only one suggesting character creation, he knows how to make an interesting mmo video. we need you back dave. (at least when vinny is out...) edit: nevermind brad messed it up...

@hurvilo: I love when people feel they are entitled to something or that this show somehow needs to be tailored to them.

"Vinny Caravella Week" sounds pretty amazing.

When the bees came, did you Skate or did you Dave?

To all the people moaning about Brad+ character creation segment length, Brad was just filling time whilst the cards were being showed.

I'm sorry, but this edition of UPF was pretty awful. And it's all down to the games.

Brad need to stop choosing games that require hours upon hours before they become fun (FF this week, but also Mario & Luigi the week before last or whenever it was) and Jeff should have realized that the Mickey-game really isn't that interesting to watch (the crew pretty much drifted off right away and started talking about stuff other than Mickey).

Drew had the right mindset (as always) when he picked his games (that they weren't all that fun to watch this time around isn't really his fault, they looked promising on paper) and Vinny generally also brings the good stuff. But it feels like it's been ages since Brad or Jeff have showed THE game of the show, so they need to step it up, especially when Drew or Vinny are out of the office.

We all know that Brad and Jeff have played tons and tons of really shitty games over the years. Go to the Gamespot archives and DIG THEM OUT.

There's a reason it's called unprofessional Fridays, Get over it dude, site isn't here for just you and your personal preferences.

This show is more about the guys just sitting around and chatting about random stuff while they play games, hence: "unprofessional Fridays".

I can't say I'm a fan of how Brad showed FFXIV: ARR here. As someone who doesn't really like MMOs and has tried and failed to get into World of Warcraft, I think this game is a lot of fun if you give it a fair chance.

And I get that showing what an MMO has to offer within the span of 30-ish minutes is nigh impossible, and, yeah, this is "Unprofessional Fridays", but still...a little research about what kind of stuff you can do in this game isn't too much to ask, right? Or maybe it is for this feature, I dunno.

The reason for that is probably because most of the Giant Bomb staff members arent interested in playing MMO´s. Personally I think that Dave Snider would be the ideal choiche to play these kinds of games but unfortunately this isnt possible at the moment. Vinny would be a good sidekick for this kind of stuff because of his endless curiosity when it comes to games.

FFXIV seems like a nice improvement over the original 1.0 version though I kinda dont like how some of the main quest chains are tied to compulsory dungeons to which there are very long ques for dps classes.

This is coming from a dude who's never played any Mickey Mouse game ever, but the walking animation for the Mickey game showcased here looks BIZARRE. Like his feet are getting glued to the ground each step. Keeps throwing me off.

The way they handled FFXIV was quite unprofessional, so good job I guess?!

Like, "Oh, look, you can look at the character in her underwear, Japan, u so pervert" while you can do that in pretty much any MMO like Guild Wars and games like Skyrim. And then he just sits at the character select for 20 minutes.

Posted by h34vy

Brad looked like he was about to spank it for a few sec there looking at cat lady.

Posted by TigerDX

Jeff always plays melee-fighter classes, unless there's an option for gun-wielding robots.

It's amazing how many people in the comments appear to be watching Unprofessional Fridays and expecting fair, balanced & informed critiques of games.

I just started playing Diablo 3 co-op on the 360 last night, and my wife's female wizard character was wearing almost nothing to start with. Blizzard must have farmed the console version out to one of those perverted Japanese developers.

Every Giantbomb show should have at least one dad on it.

Did Jeff ever finish Space Jam? Loved that part of the show

Posted by 12_Oz_Mouse

Good show over all, I had 0 interest in FFXIV before this but now I think it looks pretty cool at least. Except at $50 + $15 a month in 2013? No thanks Square.

Posted by Cramsy

I actually got pretty interested in FF after this. Might pick it up at some point soon

Dave is a funny dude.

This D&D thing and the Genny Stream things are sounding AWESOME.

Brad: "I wouldn't get near the floor of a movie theater."

Jeff: "Yup, yup, yup..."

Brad: "Popcorn, softdrinks...bodily fluids..."

Jeff: "Yup, yup, yup...

I don't get the hostility to Final Fantasy 14. Everyone I know who is playing it loves it.

God damn, MMO's are incredibly boring to watch. Good show anyways!

Yep, same here. The game is awesome, but I don't think any MMO, specially in the super early game, really shows well like this.

Wow, I totally get that jaw thing. Grinding in your sleep is the worst. It pops when I chew. Real bummer.

Posted by aquacadet

Getting a mouth guard is life changing. I used to wake up with headaches and jawaches and now nothing! Do it @jeff.

Edited by Lunchbox55

Holy Banana Riders, Batman! @brad is it always like that when you play or just during the live streams? I couldn't handle that.

It is kind of a cultural thing.

In anime and manga, panchira usually refers to a panty-shot, a visual convention used extensively by Japanese artists and animators since the early sixties. According to Japanese sources, the convention probably started with Machiko Hasegawa's popular comic strip Sazae-san, whose character designs for Wakame Isono incorporated an improbably brief hemline.[3] The practice was later transferred to animation when Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy was adapted for television in 1963. Confined mainly to harmless children's series throughout the remainder of the decade, panchira took on more overtly fetishisticelements during the early seventies.[4] From that point on, panchira became linked with sexual humor. It is particularly prevalent in so-called shōnen manga.[5]

Pathfinder sounds cool. I know there are some clients online where you can keep track of characters on the map, etc.

I just started playing Pathfinder The Card Game, which is a cross between a pen & paper RPG and a card/board game. After you finish a scenario, you can keep the loot you earned (up to your player restrictions). I recommend you guys checking it out (at least some videos on YouTube). Really fun, and can be played 1-6 players with the character deck add-on.
