That was an awesome video.  I however, am more of a bratwurst guy than a hot dog guy.  If they made a brat toaster, I would so consider getting that.  And mustard is the only thing to put on a hot dog or brat.  If you do put ketchup on, you are a Commie because ketchup is red and red is the color of Commies, so there you go.  Perfect logic wins the day again.

I agree with everything you just said. I'm not sure if you have researched this as much as I have, but they actually make hot dog cookers that are more similar to the style you see at 7-11 with the heated roller mechanism (as opposed to the weiner holes like the GB crew has). You could probably cook bratwurst on one of those. I saw them on Amazon for around $35 or so.

You guys use the same mustard and ketchup I do.

Not that I would know, seeing as there wasn't any official branding on those bottles.

Someone mind explaining the difference between a hotdog and a bratwurst? And where do sausages fit into the scale?
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen a bratwurst here in Canada for a while. Not even in  a store.

This title is misleading, Coney Island makes you think CONEY, which definitely has chili on it.

@BurningChimaera:  You know? I have absolutely no earthly idea what the difference is. In my experience, bratwurst was usually thicker and juicier. Hot dogs get a bad rap for having pig testacles and god knows what else in them whereas I think that bratwurst is generally made of higher quality animal parts. This could be entirely wrong, but that's what I'm goin' with.

That was me who said it, but oh well. Which brings up a great unrelated point. It is extremely confusing to see who said what in those quote boxes.

@BurningChimaera: This is the definition I found on dictionary.com for bratwurst: a sausage made of pork, spices, and herbs, sometimes without a casing, usually served sautéed or broiled.  The best brand is Johnsonville and the way to cook them to make them super delicious is to boil them in a cheap ass beer like Milwaukee's Best and then grill them to brown them and give them some yummy grilled flavor.  Then put mustard and raw onions on it and you have heaven in a bun.

Only children put ketchup on hotdogs. I can't believe that's the only thing Jeff put on it. Maybe next time someone should cut it up into little pieces for him too.

Disgraceful.

The greatest Hot Dog EVER in only 10 Steps

WARNING: After eating this hot fog you CAN-NOT go back to just eating a normal hot dog again. They are that good. You have been warned.

1: Cook 1 full length slice of bacon for each hot dog in a frying pan.
2: While the bacon is cooking lightly butter up the out sides of your buns as you would the bread when making grilled cheese.
3: Drain the grease from the frying pan but don't clean it out. Make sure there is a light lair of the bacon grease left.
4: Set your hot dogs on a flat surface then cut them down the middle length wise so that they make a V shape.
5: Flip them over so that the insides are flat down into the frying pan.
6: Continue to cook them flipping as needed until they are browned as desired.
7: While at the same time you are cooking the hot dogs place the buns onto a separate frying pan toasting them.
8: At this point both the buns and the hot dog's should be done at roughly the same time.
9: Place the buns on a plate and place the hot dogs onto the buns with the  V shape facing up.
10: Place the strip of bacon into the middle of the V shape and then place what ever toppings you enjoy.

I personally recommend thinly sliced or grated brick cheese, with hot dog relish and a light mustard.

And that is how you make the greatest hot dog EVER! Seriously it is like an orgasm in your mouth the first time you eat one of these things. I invented this recipe while sitting at home one day craving a wistle dog from A&W but i didnt have a way to get their or the money. Now when ever i eat a hot dog not cooked like this it just doesnt live up. I spoiled my taste buds.

Never trust a skinny cooks food, or a skinny persons opinion of it.
