I have to at least finish 999 before watching this.

I love 999 and VLR (and Ever17 and Remember11) so much. Ridiculous and intricately connected story craziness is the kind of thing that fascinates me in games, rather than the usual big-budget mindless action game. I'm so glad that there's going to be a third Zero Escape game eventually, and I hope the writer will continue to make these kinds of games!

That opening made me laugh way more than it should have.

Oh, I'd forgotten about the "OMG I'm an old man!" reveal entirely. Without taking notes during my playtime with the 999 games, I don't remember half the stuff that happened. I just have the feeling that I got a good amount of enjoyment out of them.

I read the gold files while playing the game and I don't think I encountered anything that was spoilery.

I'm avoiding spoilers, so can someone just answer one thing for me? Dog food or fine dining?

Thanks for this video mr Patrick. Becouse of you I bought 999, beated and loved. I started Virtue on the Vita but .. well.. maybe another time

I thought they were brilliantly paced, actually. They got me thinking in the right direction and speculating wildly, but every reveal twisted the ideas they had planted just a bit further and was even more shocking.

The one thing I at least guessed, even if I dismissed it like "they can't be this insane" is the post-apocalypse setting and the idea that they weren't on Earth, but only after you get out of the facility for the first time, when they are still trying to pass it for a desert.

If the rest of the staff were as committed to producing content as Tricky is this site would be even better. The fact that Patrick is in everything these days is just an indicator that the rest of the staff need to step up their game.

Yeah I did the same. Started watching this, then came to realize I had no idea why I'm watching a spoilercast about a game I know nothing about.

True. Between all the QL (majority?), written content, interviews, and just here alone with over an hour on the couch, that's some schedule...

As someone who never played those games, this spoilercast is complete non-sense. Still great though.

Great game, was able to get a platinum trophy on it also.

Thanks for another spoilercast Patrick, this a series that just begs to be talked about more.

I second that Ghost Trick recommendation, I think you'd definitely enjoy it considering how much you like 999/VLR. For some reason I'm reminded of it while thinking about VLR even though Ghost Trick isn't a visual novel and it's not ridiculously crazy. But it does have a great story and some really fun puzzles unlike most of the ones in the Zero Escape games.

I agree. Ghost Trick doesn't sound like the type of game that would have an amazing story, but it was made by the Phoenix Wright team. It also has one of the crazies endings I've ever seen in a game.
