Thank god someone on GB played this awesome series

Posted by Hardtarget

yay saves me from playing this game as well

Posted by mlarrabee

I have to at least finish 999 before watching this.

Posted by scarycrayons

I love 999 and VLR (and Ever17 and Remember11) so much. Ridiculous and intricately connected story craziness is the kind of thing that fascinates me in games, rather than the usual big-budget mindless action game. I'm so glad that there's going to be a third Zero Escape game eventually, and I hope the writer will continue to make these kinds of games!

That opening made me laugh way more than it should have.

Posted by Fobwashed

Bag. . . Head. . .

Oh, I'd forgotten about the "OMG I'm an old man!" reveal entirely. Without taking notes during my playtime with the 999 games, I don't remember half the stuff that happened. I just have the feeling that I got a good amount of enjoyment out of them.

I read the gold files while playing the game and I don't think I encountered anything that was spoilery.

I'm avoiding spoilers, so can someone just answer one thing for me? Dog food or fine dining?

Posted by williamflipper

Thanks for this video mr Patrick. Becouse of you I bought 999, beated and loved. I started Virtue on the Vita but .. well.. maybe another time

Shit. It's way too late now to watch the spoilercast. First thing in the morning tomorrow, I promise!

You can play both on 3DS, though.

Woot Woot!

Keep up doing stuff like this Patrick! It's great!

No interest in the game, but I hope this Spoilercast style video becomes a thing we see more of.

That couch looks gross

Ah-kah-neh. Not A-Cain, Ah-kah-neh.

I know it's a tiny, tiny thing, but maaan, it got to me. If nothing else because it's such a common name that you hear in so much anime.

I thought they were brilliantly paced, actually. They got me thinking in the right direction and speculating wildly, but every reveal twisted the ideas they had planted just a bit further and was even more shocking.

The one thing I at least guessed, even if I dismissed it like "they can't be this insane" is the post-apocalypse setting and the idea that they weren't on Earth, but only after you get out of the facility for the first time, when they are still trying to pass it for a desert.

Cute mask, Tricky.

Because the Giantbomb staff watches SOOOOOOOO much fuckin' anime...

Also, Patrick, MAKE THE OTHER GUYS TO SPOILERCASTS. THEY ARE AWESOME. Even if I don't care about the game at hand.

Posted by planetfunksquad

If the rest of the staff were as committed to producing content as Tricky is this site would be even better. The fact that Patrick is in everything these days is just an indicator that the rest of the staff need to step up their game.

Scoops, I applaud your commitment. Keep it up man.

Thanks for doing this

I have the same headphones, and I agree. THE WIRE IS SO DAMN ANNOYING.

Watched about 30 minutes out of interest, but stopped because I have no idea what is going on.

Sorry Patrick or whatever your name is but you seem to be infringing copyright on "Bag Head the Enraged Critic" from TGWTB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaYvfdVBB-U as seen in the above video.

Honestly I thought you were above this kind of behavour...

Incredible screen cap.

Posted by SatelliteOfLove

I still say this woulda been better had he recorded it just beating VLR.

"ASFAFDJFAKFJAOIJOVIOFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHWTF" for 50 minutes.

Edited by Ehker

Will have to check back when I beat my Vita copy.

Patrick, you're weird.

Dewar's? Dewar's? White Label Dewar's? Not even over ice! How'd you stand it? Turned it off right there. Get yourself a proper scotch and try again. Go for something like Bank Note if you're in the market for a blended scotch sub-$40. Hell, I'll send you a bottle of a decent single malt for your next spoliercast of whatever.

Dewar's? Pah.

:D

(But really, thanks for doing this; I enjoyed the last one quite a bit and I bet this one will be just as good, even if you are drinking Dewar's.)

Yeah I did the same. Started watching this, then came to realize I had no idea why I'm watching a spoilercast about a game I know nothing about.

True. Between all the QL (majority?), written content, interviews, and just here alone with over an hour on the couch, that's some schedule...

I didn't play either of those games but I still listened to an hour of this

As someone who never played those games, this spoilercast is complete non-sense. Still great though.

Posted by m1k3

Great game, was able to get a platinum trophy on it also.

Posted by jSlack

Love your stuff, in all of the content Patrick, keep it up!

Every time you lean in, Patrick Klepek , it feels like you are about to hug me. I have mixed emotions about this...

I'm not a bad person, people! I just like saving the best content for last. It's not like I took any sick pleasure in betraying Luna... (<3 Patrick)

Thanks for another spoilercast Patrick, this a series that just begs to be talked about more.

I second that Ghost Trick recommendation, I think you'd definitely enjoy it considering how much you like 999/VLR. For some reason I'm reminded of it while thinking about VLR even though Ghost Trick isn't a visual novel and it's not ridiculously crazy. But it does have a great story and some really fun puzzles unlike most of the ones in the Zero Escape games.

Posted by doe3879

this is the 2nd one?

how the hell did i missed the 1st, and why isn't there an mp3 version : (

Edited by golguin

I might play both of the games. I don't know if I should watch this. I'll start and see if I pause it.

EDIT: Okay, I just heard some stuff about a character named Junpie. There is a Junpie in Persona 3 so I can't forget that name anymore. Done watching. Man, I think I might end up playing 999.

Posted by MeatSim

Should have worn the mask/bag the entire spoiltercast.

I agree. Ghost Trick doesn't sound like the type of game that would have an amazing story, but it was made by the Phoenix Wright team. It also has one of the crazies endings I've ever seen in a game.

The Lamp is everything!
