This game looks great especially the narration aspect of it, correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Mr.Greg Kasavin (integral member of making the game) an ex-coworker with most the Giant Bomb team when they worked together at Gamespot? I am just trying to address a potential bias in the upcoming review, but again if i'm completely wrong just bash me for saying something stupid

really? I thought everyone was mature enough to understand what bias is and how to read it. I love the reviews here on giantbomb and I actually enjoy when someone is 'too much in love' with a game that maybe I won't like cause they illuminate parts of the game for me that I otherwise may not get from someone trying to pretend they don't have human emotions. 
 
If this is true and there is no GiantBomb review of bastion I will be kinda sad, I really dig the content on this site and would absolutely love to see their review of the game. Maybe I'll settle for their opinions on the podcast which I'm sure will happen.

@DJJoeJoe: The conflict of interest I think is too high. Hearing from the development team on a monthly basis of trials and tribulations is obviously not how most reviewers go about the process of reviewing a game. I'm sure they'll talk a bunch about it on the Bombcast though.

@DJJoeJoe: When the project first started, they definitely went on record stating they would not do a review of Bastion, based on the inherent bias. That's the sacrifice made for getting such a comprehensive look at the development process. Worth it IMO.

Normally, I might play something like this, but in all the stuff I've seen, the narrator never, ever shuts up. He sounds like a Captain Anderson that loves to hear himself talk and talk. The quality of VO work I'm not debating, but its constant presence would piss me the fuck off. I could be wrong, and if it turns out that the narrartor does indeed shut up most of the time, I may play it after all.

Yeah, I think being part of the Summer of Arcade means agreeing to be at least a timed exclusive. I may be wrong.

That's swell. When he talks so much that it gets in the way of the developers talking about their game when they try to show it off (see any Giant Bomb video of them being interviewed with game footage rolling during a Happy Hour), it's an artistic design that fucking sucks.

i trust that the designers are smart enough to narrate when shit isn't going down. if you get pissed about narration during down time then just don't play it i guess!

Didn't say that at all. I was using it as an example of how much he does talk though. Greg Kasavin was having a hell of a time speaking over him while the game was in motion, which let's me conveniently segue into the 'down time' you speak of. Every bit of footage I've seen from the game has him talking constantly, be it at the home base place, or in combat, and it's in combat where it bothers me. Kind of like RDR telling you how to do stuff in a text bubble at the top right while you're already doing stuff in the game.

Am I wrong? I've already said I'd buy the game if I am. Morgan Webb was actually the one that brought the concern to my attention, so when I watched all the footage of Building the Bastion, and the afterparts of them showing off the game, sure enough, he was chatting away at every oppurtunity.  
 
How much the narrator speaks isn't concealed information, is it? I don't claim this is fact, but it is the conclusion I've reached given what's available for vieweing. By all means, if there are moments where I simply play the game, tell me.

@NocturnusFatalis: only time i've seen it talk while sort of in combat is between waves or when the combat portion finished and i've sort of been keeping up with the coverage on the game.

and i know that's not what you meant, but it wasn't a very good argument to dismiss the design decision based on how difficult it is to show the game off.

but yeah brad said stuff and whatever discussion is over until the game is out i guess!
