Want to Know What's Different in New Super Luigi U?

I know almost everyone is sick of New Super Mario Bros, but this DLC along with the main game will be purchased at the same time as a WiiU for me. That time is eventually haha

The amount of content being offered here is more than you can say for most DLC for the same price. Some of the comments I'm reading is just mind-boggling.

Well anyone craving more Mario platformers gets their wish for 20 bucks. Seems pretty chill to me. I enjoyed the first one and if I get a little spare cash this seems like an alright deal. Of course more difference would have been accepted but I guess they have redone all of the levels.

'Available only in 2013' seems to imply a limited physical release? Also the 'bop bop' needs to stop.

It's the Giant Bomb community. People would get pissy if it was free. People here are rarely happy about anything it seems.

I love Nabbit. I want a Nabbit game. I don't own a Wii U and I'm not into NSMB, but Nabbit makes me happy.

Luigi's Mansion is fantastic. I think Luigi can be more than just your Hard Mode Mario.

I'll pick this up as soon as I get around to beating NSMBU.

I also can't believe people are calling this pathetic, and if they are they must think it's just a character addition. The levels are all completely new and made more difficult. This is Nintendo's love letter to anyone who felt that NSMBU was too easy for the most part. Please stop shitting all over it and go waste your hate somewhere else

It's hardcore-mode DLC. The only reason it's getting a disk release is 8-year-olds don't have credit cards.

Still, the difficulty looks good. Slipperier, shorter time limit, crazy-looking levels. Plus the Nabbit mode for your non-gamer co-star.

Really, the "Luigi Mansion" was a bit of a misstep, Galaxy returned to the trend set in Lost Levels: Luigi is the Hard Mode Mario. So this game? This is Hard Mode NSMB.

The funny part about this is that it implies Luigi has the better skills.

I missed out on the Metroid Prime Collection, so I don't think I will miss out on this one. NSMBU was probably the best multiplayer experience I've had so far this year. Selling it as an old school expansion pack with an old school price is not too shabby either.

So you didn't watch the video then? Or read the blurb in the wiki box right next to the comments? Both unmistakably say 80+ (82) completely new levels.

Can you blame them? Look at how many people took the time to come in here and shit on a perfectly competent game they'll never play.

This kind of feels like Nintendo saying "Hey look this isn't just a re-hash of the 'New' franchise we swear".

Between the "what's different" messaging and the logo, I can't tell if they're being self aware and know how ridiculous and, quite frankly, pathetic this is, or if they're completely serious. Knowing Nintendo, it's probably the latter.

I don't understand all of the negativity. People are acting like this is supposed to be a brand new game. It's just DLC guys, and damn good DLC at that. They've redesigned every level in the game for crying out loud.

I think that refers to the boxed, disc based version they're releasing in July. They're treating that as a limited "special edition" thing, kind of like the Super Mario All-Stars and Metroid Prime Trilogy discs for the Wii.

Hang on a second, am I going crazy or does it say "Available Only in 2013" at the end of the trailer? As in, "once the year of Luigi ends, we're locking these levels away in the Disney vault, so buy it while you can"?

For some reason, I'm way more ok with an expansion pack of challenging remix levels than I am with the basic game.

Just about everyone in the games media talks about the great loyalty of the Nintendo fan base. But I never really had a great sense of what they meant until now. Holy shit, you people get pissed and defensive easily.

This really. I played some of it and the only difference is the new levels. That is the main attraction for the DLC.

It's a good thing Infinity Ward/Treyarch stopped after CoD 4, because people never would have put up with another six Call of Duty first person shooters over the next six years. Also, good on Bungie, Sony and Epic for only making one or two Halo, God of War and Gears games. People get so tired of the same old stuff over and over with just a few new guns/abilities/characters, they never would have bought any more of that crap. Even worse, imagine if a company like EA put out a new NFL/NCAA/PGA/MLB game every year. The horror...

Seriously, it's $20 for an entirely new Mario game themed around shorter, more difficult levels and a harder-to-control character (and character control is a rather large part of a platformer, all things considered). It's a pretty dang good value, in my opinion, especially if you enjoy challenging gameplay.

All the levels are new and tend to be shorter and harder than in the original game.

Think of it as an expansion pack.
