I might actually try this out.

Seems pretty cool

Posted by bucifer

oh wow, this is so awesome!

Posted by Etnos

Yes I do :)

Posted by Droop

Looks really impressive!

Posted by JCTango

Amazing.

Posted by benjaebe

Taking bets on how long before someone makes porn with it.

Posted by UberExplodey

fuck yes.

Posted by Fattony12000

Holy.

Fuck.

Valve.

Posted by VierasTalo

Holy. Shit.

Posted by BenRoyTurner

If I can make Left 4 Dead movies I will be on board!

Posted by MACog

@benjaebe: I would assume someone at Valve already has.

Posted by SomeJerk

Valve is actually latin for The greatest company in the game industry.

Posted by Tidel

Valve is the bee's knees.

The most awesome thing about this is how accessible 3D animation is becoming for the general populace. Going to be a lot of great amateur/indie works out there.

Can't wait to dig into this.

Posted by zyn

That is awesome!

Posted by Ketchupp

Hot balls.

Posted by ThePhantomStranger

Well this is rather impressive...to me at least, anticipating that one guy who will go on about how it's all just common stuff in other engines and programs.

Posted by Lyfeforce

Motherfucking WHOA.

Posted by Xymox

ytpmvs will never be the same again.

Posted by Grimluck343

That's an impressive piece of tech.

Well it's sorta true, most engines do. Just that no one ever releases tools like this if they aren't making an old school RPG, a Bethesda game, or a few other cool bits.

Someone will make the next big user-made machinima piece though this no doubt.

Posted by OneFreeman

@benjaebe: Well as soon as I download it basically.

Posted by monkeystick

I'm totally going to make a poop video.

Posted by Encephalon

All the "Meet the..." videos you could ask for!

Posted by Seastalk

I can't wait to see what machinima makers do with this!

Posted by pakattak

@Draxyle: Also a LOT of shit.

But it's worth it if it means more creative accessibility. Everyone has a good story to tell, most of them just lack the ability to tell it.

I just hope my services as a professional artist don't get lost to stuff like this.

Posted by Springfart

that's pretty damn awesome!

Posted by Sin4profit

that's hot shit, i really like how it uses multiplayer to make the creative process a team effort much like the way the guys at Rooster Teeth do it for Red Vs Blue.

Posted by TaliciaDragonsong

Awesome.

Posted by Viking_Funeral

I would love to try this, but I just know that I'd lose interest half-way through setting up a scene.

I was just thinking the other day back to when Steam seemed like the worst idea ever.... HAH! Valve continues to make brilliant business decisions. I spend so much more money with them or by using their services because of how easy they make it and how much they give back.

Posted by Seroth

Hopefully my childhood experiences with Microsoft 3D Movie Maker will serve me well with this, lol.

Posted by MaFoLu

Half-Life music playing in the background?
Episode 3 coming soon!
The logic checks out, right?

Oh I definitely agree. No matter the tools, it still takes a lot of skill, training and knowledge to make things that don't suck. I just think about how the general populace still can't figure out how to make Powerpoint not terrible.

There's always the few exceptions that I look forward to seeing though.

In addition to Steam and micro-transactions, this solidifies Valve's place as much more than a gaming company. Hollywood and the record industry have both seen a steep decline in profits...it's about time that the people started producing the content themselves.

Posted by Red_Dragon

Half Life 3 the movie confirmed :D

But really, I wish I had a good enough PC to do this stuff. Oh well guess I will have to stick to 2D stuff for now.

Yeah I remember trying out Steam and Counter-Strike 1.6, I thought it was horribly implemented but look how far it went. They took advantage of the growing broadband industry and made one of the best digital services today.

Valve I love you and this is some impressive stuff. Talented individuals will no doubt make masterpieces using this. But not to be demanding but I'd also really love a new Half-Life game. That would make my world complete.

Posted by dcgc

Amazing, can't wait to put my hands on it.

Posted by Flacracker

So fuck Gary's mod?

Posted by Groundings

I'm on board!

Posted by ShadowConqueror

Fucking awesome.

I think I still have a copy of that somewhere in the old computer desk... may have to pull that out just to see.

I think their masterplan is to release enough tools so they can come out and say: "Stop asking me to do HL3 do it yourselves!"

I'm excited to see what the most dedicated users of this tool can come up with. I'm sure I'll open it it up and be intimidated by the learning curve and quickly close it, personally.

Posted by KingHippp0

Wow. I'm in.

Posted by Winternet

This is some pretty interesting stuff.
