Watch Dogs Has a New Release Date, May 27

@hammondoftexas: To be honest, I'd be okay with that. I adore that show.

I'm a little more optimistic than most of what I'm seeing here, but I happened to see a piece on the game over at Polygon. Bryan C. went over and played for bout an hour and a half I think, his impressions were pretty positive, but I haven't followed him much. I don't know if his taste in games lines up with my own.

Having read a bunch of preview coverage over there, watched a video interview with the devs about the delay, they claim they were able to make just enough changes in gameplay and other things that the game is now, more or less, exactly what they were hoping for. Crecente said that in his admittedly short amount of time playing, things were nicely varied and he claimed to have a ton of fun.

Then I watched the trailer here, and, um, yeah, it's disappointing. But having seen the other stuff first, I'm still optimistic.

I remember this looking way better visually when they first revealed it.

I think that can be nice game. This year is good for gamers xD Can't wait for this.

First off, this game continues to look like a lot of fun, glad we'll be getting our hands on it soon.

Secondly, It's weird seeing everyone opinion of this game take a complete 180 since it was delayed. "story looks generic" "graphics look worse" "seems like just another shooter". You are all pessimistic motherfuckers.

There is still a Wii U version! Neat-o! I've stopped getting Ubi-Soft games on my PC. I've been getting so many crashes because of U-Play. Not fun at all.

I"m guessing this is footage of the PS3/360 version because otherwise holy shit that looks a lot worse than what they've showed before.

Graphically went from looking like a "next-gen" title to looking slightly better than a 360 game. Disappointed. Graphics isn't everything, but it's definitely part of setting the atmosphere.

Uhhh the graphics DO look worse. Like someone said this one of the first "next gen" looking games we saw and now...man I don't know what happened. This has been a troubled dev cycle.

There is video out there of the stealth. It's the far cry 3 kind though where you can run an outpost stealthely or run in guns blazing.

I appreciated that 'Woop woop, wop wop wop' in the end. Otherwise...eh. GTA with more combat-mechanics sounds potentially really fun, especially if it runs without any trouble, with dozens of people and vechiles on the screen at the same time. The story, however, didn't really do much for me. I have no problems watching an action movie with a really simple plot and cliched characters every now and then, but somehow it felt odd with this one.

Eh, guess one just has to wait 'till may.

So they finally expand ever so slightly on the overall narrative in a trailer, and now I have pretty much zero interest in this canned-looking garbage. I want to hit all the characters with my fists.

This looks absolutely amazing.

Nothing to do with being intellectual, just the game looked a lot less generic last time they showed it. This trailer just showed a lot of tropes we have seen a million times in gaming and I had hopes it might be something different. Serves me right for being an elitist arsehole I suppose...

Yeah that's what I am hoping. Trailers normally go for the lowest common denominator or just show the whizziest, explodingest parts of the games so I hope you are right. It is the characters and plotline which worried me the most though. I know not to expect too much from videogames but this looked a little lazy...

Still hopeful though, the gameplay videos they released previously looked promising. On a wider note, it seems that a great deal of the time trailers just don't show a lot of the aspects of games which gamers really enjoy and it makes me wonder who they are for exactly, and whether they serve any purpose. I'd say most of the reaction to this trailer has been negative, but I guess advertisers and marketers know their demographics, and maybe all it is about is getting the word out, rather than explicitly selling the game.

Big game trailers always seem to be either CG or cut scenes and explosions from the game which don't tell anyone what the game is really like and most of the time make it either seem shallow and dumb or present and exciting but unrealistic spectacle (see new Batman trailer). It just can't be good if Ubisoft are releasing promos which lower excitement.

So its Burn Notice + Person of Interest + Taken? I'm sold.

I normally don't care about graphics, but it's kind of disappointing how this went from a next gen showpiece that was talking me into buying a new console to looking on par or worse than the most recent PS3/360 releases. If the delays were to rework the game to actually run on the new consoles, that'd be really sad.

Also generic explosions/shooting/fighting trailer with generic revenge plot are not doing this game any favors. I still might get a PS4 soon with Infamous coming out, but I dunno. I'll normally wait till there's at least a few must buys, and that's not looking to happen until fall at this rate.

About time something was shown for this game I was getting worried and I won't have to wait too long to play.

After reading the hands-on writeup on Polygon, I'm pretty optimistic that you can play this game any way you desire. Sounds like one hell of a fun sandbox.

Compare this to what was shown at E3 (I think it was E3) and this looks like a pretty massive downgrade in graphics. Anyways, haven't really been very interested in this game since day one, and it now looks more generic than ever. For as much as I like Person of Interest, and this sure does seem to take some cues from that show, I think I'll pass.

Every time he shuts down the power grid over 2 million people shout "who turned out the lights!?"

It still looks like it's going to be fun no matter how it all turns out.

Finally, videogame storytelling has reached parity with early 90s cyberthriller classics, like The Net and Masterminds.

I'm still looking forward to it. Though I'm starting to wonder if it's going to have a good ratio of sneaky "hacker" stuff to EXPLOSIONS! involved.

Glad I'm not crazy for noticing this myself. This trailer looks like a last-gen game, while the release stuff looked extremely impressive. I'm hoping it's a matter of showing the console version in this trailer vs the PC version being shown for the announcements.

@ripelivejam: sales wise, i think so. But it may be a better game. Im skeptical, but lets wait and see shall we? At least we have a release date now.....lets just hope ubi sticks to it.

What the hell happened to this game?! 2012 watch dogs all BS 2013 360 version or really the base for next gen versions.

This trailer pretty much unsold me on preordering the game. Will have to wait for the quicklook and reviews now.

Now I wonder which version this is. This look suspiciously like the level of detail shown in the Aisha Tyler trailer (which is the last-gen version).

If this is the Next-Gen version, that's massively disappointing. Still interested if the gameplay is good, but may not immediately get it as it's no longer even close to the technical showcase it was. (If this is indeed the next gen version)

That is the best trailer I've seen for a video game. I am so excited for this game and have been for a long time. I can't wait!!!

I'm still not too interested in playing this, but I still wanna walk around Chicago (despite doing it every day).

I hope it's good, with a decent enough story to get me to buy in.

I hope this is 360/PS3 footage, but it seems slightly better than what those machines are capable of....but not by very much. It will be VERY disappointing if this is next gen footage.

This one trailer has gone made my stance on Watch Dogs go from being a day one PC purchase to a wait and see if the final PC graphics look shitty like the 2014 footage, or awesome like the 2012 stuff. Ubisoft would have been better off (with me at least) not showing ANYTHING new on the game as opposed to showing this crummy trailer.

With the mainstream still being so in love with Hollywood and this game looking as it does, I can't image how gaming en masse won't be popular this generation. Looks epic!

I dont like this Community much anymore after reading comments. I liked GB prior Gamespot and CBS...... But enough about your problems, The game trailer looks like a movie trailer which has no impact on me buying this game... I will buy it no matter how the trailers are. Also, to be like everyone else who posted before me.. This game is Super original and we all totally have not seen anything like this done prior. That Main characters voice is So Cliche and batman like it might as well be the next Arkham game. I hope I fit in with prior comments here.

Yyyyyeah, why have y'all been talking about this game forever again? Not that it doesn't look, hrm, movie-ie? It just looks like a movie I'd never want to watch.
