Not that I ever thought this looked good but man, what a mundane story conceit for such a potentially interesting premise.

Man the story looks stupid as hell. Hopefully it is still fun to play and isn't a half-baked mess like AC1.

In the 2012 E3 debut trailer he totally sounded like a normal fella, with none of this faux-rorschach bullshit. In fact he sounded like another Nolan North/Troy Baker sorta character candidate; and while we've already got plenty of those, they're still a sight more preferable to gruff Gravel Man.

GTA V was so good they delayed it. Ubisoft should go out of business for how they fucked Patrice Desilets and so many other people.

Don't buy Watch Dogs, play more GTA V.

The longer they take on this game, the less interested i am in it tbh. Should have used the new console launch to push the franchise while they could instead of pushing this back to promote black flag (which would have sold the same regardless IMO)

This trailer makes me think they're trying to reboot Hackers as a video game.

Reading the comments, I'm surprised how much people vary on what this game is. It looks like there's climbing up specified box like areas to higher ground. Contextual AC like opportunities to start sidequests and activities(hopefully on a larger scale than catch/kill that guy). Driving, shooting and police attention of GTA(Escape detection to continue playing the game normally). We don't know how far the story will skew because trailers emphasize a style and cut from all over. Most likely(Ubisoft) it'll be missions like Splinter Cell Blacklist but in a modern setting, emphasizing side objectives and environmental attacks/distractions to help you get through missions and feel a diverse level of interaction. However, I think the story will divulge into action at points and also allow you to take most missions head on again like Splinter Cell Blacklist.

Anyway that's my conjecture for now.

Yyyyyeah, why have y'all been talking about this game forever again? Not that it doesn't look, hrm, movie-ie? It just looks like a movie I'd never want to watch.

I dont like this Community much anymore after reading comments. I liked GB prior Gamespot and CBS...... But enough about your problems, The game trailer looks like a movie trailer which has no impact on me buying this game... I will buy it no matter how the trailers are. Also, to be like everyone else who posted before me.. This game is Super original and we all totally have not seen anything like this done prior. That Main characters voice is So Cliche and batman like it might as well be the next Arkham game. I hope I fit in with prior comments here.

With the mainstream still being so in love with Hollywood and this game looking as it does, I can't image how gaming en masse won't be popular this generation. Looks epic!

I hope this is 360/PS3 footage, but it seems slightly better than what those machines are capable of....but not by very much. It will be VERY disappointing if this is next gen footage.

This one trailer has gone made my stance on Watch Dogs go from being a day one PC purchase to a wait and see if the final PC graphics look shitty like the 2014 footage, or awesome like the 2012 stuff. Ubisoft would have been better off (with me at least) not showing ANYTHING new on the game as opposed to showing this crummy trailer.

I'm still not too interested in playing this, but I still wanna walk around Chicago (despite doing it every day).

I hope it's good, with a decent enough story to get me to buy in.

I can't really say that this trailer did anything for me.

That is the best trailer I've seen for a video game. I am so excited for this game and have been for a long time. I can't wait!!!

Now I wonder which version this is. This look suspiciously like the level of detail shown in the Aisha Tyler trailer (which is the last-gen version).

If this is the Next-Gen version, that's massively disappointing. Still interested if the gameplay is good, but may not immediately get it as it's no longer even close to the technical showcase it was. (If this is indeed the next gen version)

This trailer pretty much unsold me on preordering the game. Will have to wait for the quicklook and reviews now.

What the hell happened to this game?! 2012 watch dogs all BS 2013 360 version or really the base for next gen versions.

@ripelivejam: sales wise, i think so. But it may be a better game. Im skeptical, but lets wait and see shall we? At least we have a release date now.....lets just hope ubi sticks to it.

Glad I'm not crazy for noticing this myself. This trailer looks like a last-gen game, while the release stuff looked extremely impressive. I'm hoping it's a matter of showing the console version in this trailer vs the PC version being shown for the announcements.

Finally, videogame storytelling has reached parity with early 90s cyberthriller classics, like The Net and Masterminds.

It still looks like it's going to be fun no matter how it all turns out.

Compare this to what was shown at E3 (I think it was E3) and this looks like a pretty massive downgrade in graphics. Anyways, haven't really been very interested in this game since day one, and it now looks more generic than ever. For as much as I like Person of Interest, and this sure does seem to take some cues from that show, I think I'll pass.

After reading the hands-on writeup on Polygon, I'm pretty optimistic that you can play this game any way you desire. Sounds like one hell of a fun sandbox.

About time something was shown for this game I was getting worried and I won't have to wait too long to play.

I normally don't care about graphics, but it's kind of disappointing how this went from a next gen showpiece that was talking me into buying a new console to looking on par or worse than the most recent PS3/360 releases. If the delays were to rework the game to actually run on the new consoles, that'd be really sad.

Also generic explosions/shooting/fighting trailer with generic revenge plot are not doing this game any favors. I still might get a PS4 soon with Infamous coming out, but I dunno. I'll normally wait till there's at least a few must buys, and that's not looking to happen until fall at this rate.

So its Burn Notice + Person of Interest + Taken? I'm sold.

Yeah that's what I am hoping. Trailers normally go for the lowest common denominator or just show the whizziest, explodingest parts of the games so I hope you are right. It is the characters and plotline which worried me the most though. I know not to expect too much from videogames but this looked a little lazy...

Still hopeful though, the gameplay videos they released previously looked promising. On a wider note, it seems that a great deal of the time trailers just don't show a lot of the aspects of games which gamers really enjoy and it makes me wonder who they are for exactly, and whether they serve any purpose. I'd say most of the reaction to this trailer has been negative, but I guess advertisers and marketers know their demographics, and maybe all it is about is getting the word out, rather than explicitly selling the game.

Big game trailers always seem to be either CG or cut scenes and explosions from the game which don't tell anyone what the game is really like and most of the time make it either seem shallow and dumb or present and exciting but unrealistic spectacle (see new Batman trailer). It just can't be good if Ubisoft are releasing promos which lower excitement.
