Looks phenomenal- game's going to be awesome. And all you guys bagging on it for being a "generic tps" or having "no story", way to not play the games and act like you know what you're talking about. Gears might not be award winning fiction, but at least it has a better story and more unique graphics and gameplay than garbage like CoD with its "Oh no, a crazy rogue general from Herpderpistan has nukes- must singlehandedly destroy an entire army! "

I'm sure this is completely to recap all those who missed the other Gears games and not for those who have played them. They really want this Gears to be the most accessible.

Looks awesome. I'm interested to find out how they wrap everything up. I also didn't mind the 2nd one. A little long but still fun. That's right, throw your hate at me!

Terrible intro. Videos of previous games on a screen while a character no one cares about talks over it... zzzzz. Wondering if they're still doing one of those amazing music video-like advertisements like the Mad World one; seems like they're phoning in Gears 3 a bit.

The story is absolute crap but I'll have to check this one out. It'll be a blast on co-op I reckon.

I do actually care about Gears and buying this is a no brainer. Having said that, the story is, in my opinion, fucking rubbish. It's too late to make us care now... When Dom's wife died it was one of stupidest moments in the whole series. Tai was souless, Marcus is completely two dimensional and the rest of the cast are just filler.

The game itself is great (the combat, the action sequences, etc.), and the multiplayer will, once again, be awesome. But the first Gears story was disjointed, lacked transitions and was missing huge details. The second Gear story tried, but in trying became worse - seriously, who gave a fuck about Dom's wife or the sinking of a city that was just a battleground anyway? It's too late to make me care now... just make sure the matchmaking works and there's plenty of good maps and I'll there.

I love how people "Don't care" yet they post on a video about how much they "Don't care". These are the same people who will be buying the game when it comes out.

I can't take Gears seriously in the story department. I never cared about Tai, and I laughed when Maria was uh 'dead'.

The COG sure do make lot's of hasty bad decisions that end up making things only worse.

Gears of Wars it's been so draaaaamatic I find it to have to opposite effect on me. I fount it to be one of the most polished and produced examples of involuntary humor.

Maybe that's what JACK has been up to whenever he's invisible. He zips around getting footage with an attached camera. Instead of using the invisible flying robot to lay waste to their enemies, the COG just uses him to tape battles for future reference.

Oddly enough, I just can't bring myself to care about this game.

Couldn't give a shit about the Gears franchise.

@Afroman269: Good to hear. Yes I missed out on the beta, largely because I've been avoiding coverage because I don't really need to be sold on the game or make myself impatient for the full release.

If the chainsaw action is more vulnerable than I remember and the online is tweaked a bit everything else is a bonus.

i felt the same way for gears 2. just had no interest whats so ever in playing another gears game. however i few weeks after it came out i decided to pick it up. I then remembered why i loved Gears of War in the first place.

As an outsider looking in, this trailer doesn't  impress me. I've never been a big fan of the Gears franchise, mostly because the longer this franchise plods on, the more questions it leaves unanswered. Like the rest of the games so far, this trailer seems to pile more questions on without answering anything. Meh.

I'll speak positively of Anna's butt....c'mon such a luv/hate war no on bumped their nose into it the first few seconds..I didn't real all the comments. I was more wierded out by the millions of civies killed. I think abandoned might have made more story sense. This franchise has proven to me to be a pretty much one play through, but I always enjoy it. enough to pre order,oh, not ps/steam, dammit!

I'm sort of bummed out that they spend the entire intro talking about the first two games, then say "Oh yeah, we're splitting up. Why? Because gameplay, that's why."
 
I like the idea that they're actually taking the Gears story seriously, but I have my doubts as to whether or not Epic's writers can actually pull it off. Still looking forward to it either way, though.
