What To Expect From Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

Just as expected it's still soccer.

Fifa is so far ahead of Evo it's a joke

 The greatest thing about Pro Evo which can be seen in this video:
 
A defenders does not automatically win the ball by just being close to you, if you get your body between him and the ball you have the advantage, he will have to foul you if he tries even a standing tackle. Until FIFA fixes this bullshit it will always remain a joke of a game, presentation be damned.

Looks like they failed to fix one major issue with the last few PES games: the horrible, horrible presentation. I went over to the dark side last year and got FIFA 10 but I think I'll go back to Pro Evo when this seasons batch comes out. 
 
And what was up with that weird green targeting thing. After freezing the screen and doing all that scanning, all he did was hit the button for a through-pass.

game looks gorgeous, and actually looks like a huge improvement over the last iterations. but fifa will still probably be better

I've always appreciated how video-gamey this series is compared to EA's FIFA. It's got this undeniably Japanese feel to it; clinical menus, golf course fly-by music, interesting menu wording. Especially Winning Eleven 8; which instantly took me back when sports games were more fun (Double Dribble, Baseball Stars, Super Baseball Simulator 1000 come to mind).

Funny how before the World Cup I had no idea who all these players were, now I'm really looking for some more football, this might be the ticket!

Watching the world cup reminded me of playing Fifa 96 (I think I even still have somewhere) with my brother as kids.  I might get this.

@Hilbert: Yup :) That was pretty brutal and he was very lucky to stay on the pitch. There's a physical game and then there's kickboxing.

Hopefully they have improved the defense and some other little things like taking quick near post corners that always go in it seems.  
 
After meeting and playing with the guy who knew the game so well and was beating me by exploiting the game and not actually playing good football it made me realize how much PES has fallen behind :( 
 
I really hope they fix these issues.

When the hell will Konami learn that they have to get the whole Premier League license. It is the best league in the world. Serie A is for greasy pussys. Premier League and La Liga are the only ones that mather. Bundesliga and Eredivisie are also pretty fun to watch but only have a few good teams in them.

That trailer sure had a lot of text and info, which seemed a bit much for just a reveal trailer.
 
Either way, my brother will happily play this over FIFA. For me, I will stick to my Football Manager.

While the players don't look that great, the animations are pretty good. Also PES was way better than FIFA back in the day, didn't play any of the new ones since 2003 or so.

Pro Evo is the best football game ever. FIFA just is not fun to play at all. Pro Evo 2011 looks amazing, just how in-depth everything is.
