What's Up With WOW's Rage of the Firelands?

I haven't played WoW in a long, long time. I sure hope watching this video doesn't make me want to play it.

Well I can honestly say I have never been less interested in going back to WoW.

Cataclysm: The been there done that of WoW. Seriously anyone who played as a hardcore player before this expac has to feel annoyed. They even got my friend to ragequit over the new ZA. We did the original bear runs and it was annoying enough back then. None of us are playing anymore and no trailer will get me to go back into that rehash well.

Looks like Ragnaros got a gear upgrade. Also, I see what Blizzard meant by facial animations on their new Thrall model (by wow standards).

Rage of the Firelands?Really Blizzard? That sounds like the kind of thing the dev team just puked up one day after eating a microwaved bean burrito.  
 
 Also, Thrall is such a pansy now. 

Makes me want to play just to kill Ragnaros again, memories of vanilla raiding flooding in.
 
Shame the game is so much worse and too forgiving now. Grrr.

I love WoW. Sadly, I can not play it without getting addicted. Vanilla and 1st expansion nearly took my career. They really need to make that WoW-movie. A good one.

Same here, I keep thinking about going back but I know it'd devour my life again. T_T

Still not going back to WoW.

I've gone back to WOW recently just coz it's been a while and it's okay.

But it is so easy to level now. I remember it being so much harder but now as soon as I get a quest I'm over-leveled.

WoW isn't looking that good in the standards of current game technology any more. Not that it changes anything but I would feel dumb if I'd start to play it now. I'll rather wait for the next instalment and play other games without fees while waiting. (The Rift was an option until I noticed how uninterested I was during a trial.)

People still play WoW? I gave up that about two months after it was first released. But worst of all it's success will pretty much ensure they'll never make another Warcraft RTS. Thanks guys. Thanks!

Man after you haven't played for a year wow looks really old and busted.If i was gonna play a mmo these day i would play rift.I enjoyed my time with lich king were you could pug shit and have fun but now you need trained people with UI more complex then the bridge of the enterprise to do anything.

Pondering picking up a gametime card. Maybe if a crippling heatwave strikes. Just the right kind of weather to turn up the AC and shutter all windows and raid me some firelands.

How have they lost it when millions of people still play and are beyond addicted? Blizzard have only "lost" it when everyone stops playing.

wow, to think people still play this... i wonder if anyone is still playing battlefield vietnam, rome : total war or farcry at this point

Don't worry, Warcraft 4 is still coming. They will explain away all the events of WoW as a drunk Pandaren Brewmasters' fever dream and start right where The Frozen Throne left off. Either that or they'll rape out all the RTS to make it appeal to WoW players.

Warcraft 4 confirmed. Coming 2019.

And they could release the original WoW (w/o cataclysm etc) as a free 2 play game and destroy that market, too.

Hmm...so what's in Patch 4.2?  Is it as big as patch 2.4 that created the Sunwell plateau and all those damned daily quests? 
 
I was thinking while watching the above trailer that the game has got a whole lot of content.  Really just a huge amount of stuff to do.   If I had any inkling of playing it again, I could get lost in there for months easily.   However, I'm more interested in SWTOR, Guild Wars 2 and TERA.  Until then, I have free MMOs from Steam to fool around with.  I installed Forsaken Worlds yesterday but haven't had a chance to delve in proper yet.  Hopefully, soon.

Isnt the whole game a free download?

Just pay the monthly fee for a few months, you will have done the SP by then.

I think you are looking back with rose colored glassess. I played WoW back in those days the questing was not that great the raiding outside of AQ 40 and naxx was also not that great MC was such a borintg grind. If you want to pick an era in WoW's history that the PvE content ws at it's peak I would say TBC.

Blizzard has made alot of good changes to WoW unfortunatly they have mad many bad ones to like Wraith.

Assortment of new daily quests, new seven boss raid and an entirely new tier of raid equipment, quest chain for a new legendary caster staff, miscellaneous bits and bobs you expect from WoW updates nowadays including balance changes, UI improvements (New Dungeon Journal gives players an idea of what dungeon and raid bosses are capable of as opposed to having to fly in completely blind on a first encounter), bug fixes, and a new tier of Arena/PVP loot as it's the start of a new Arena season and then some.

The trailer is really good, the actual content that they're putting in the game is pretty mediocre, new daily quest that are really generic, new raid with 7 bosses which I've heard is ok, new PVP season (that's what I mostly care about), some balance changes, that  dungeon journal that tells you what spells the boss will use, oh and they're nerfing all the raids which made a lot of people very angry. I'm only playing to be with my guild and do rated battlegrounds which is a lot of fun.
