It looks like they're having so much fun. Turns out they were.

Edit: Gman's beard is sweet.

Fruit ninja looks like a blast!

Sometimes when Tested segments go poorly, Will reminds me of a smarter Michael Scott.

(I love you Will!)

Yay, I made Ryan bored, lol

In the closeup of Catwoman you can see she's wearing a mask underneath the glasses.

Man, seeing Lemon here and Farmville really makes me miss Question of the Week : (

Ben could play Al in the inevitable Police Squad reboot

Ryan's massive disappointment in everyone is always the most delicious part of the Happy Hour.

Tested segments are usually the worst or the most amazing. Can't decide where this one falls.

rorie's new shoes are sweet

Hrmm Fruit Ninja actually doesn't look all that bad. I wonder if they'll do a Move version as well.

Fruit Ninja for kinect looks great! Looks like it controls very naturally. Also, where has Jeff been all week? I feel like it's probably been explained

We should start a rumor that Jeff left Giant Bomb.

Wow that Tested segment was the worst haha.

They mentioned in I Love Mondays that Jeff's birthday was on Monday. Also, since it's the middle of August (as well as the week of his birthday), I think it's a safe guess that Jeff probably took some vacation.

Ryan's face as he goes batshit on that last piece of fruit at the end, is awesome. Someone needs to GIF that.

Happy Hour was a mixed bag this week. Comic Vine was okay, Screened trivia wasn't too bad considering what a clusterfuck it was, and Fruit Ninja actually looks a lot better than I was anticipating.

The Tested segment, however, was really bad - and that's like three weeks in a row now, of sub-par Tested segments. Will and Norm really need to brainstorm their bits more. The food, coffee, and "derp here's a card game with tested in the name" segments, do not make for good viewing. You could tell Ryan was not pleased with the results, too.

You're a tech website - do some tech-related stuff. I really enjoyed early Tested segments, where they looked at "As Seen On TV" inventions. Did that just get too expensive to do?

Bill Pullman's Independence Day speech > Anything Bill Paxton has ever thought about saying.

Yikes, looks like I didn't miss too much this week!

That youtube clip was fucking awful. Like, really bad, and not at all funny. I usually like Happy Hours but that was a bit shit.

@Scotto: The weird thing about Tested segments being so bland is that they've always got great videos on their site, and just released the first episode in what I think is going to be a weekly video podcast, or something to that effect, and it's absolutely fantastic. Just doesn't seem to extend over to the Happy Hour, sadly.

Fuck I love Whiskey Media. Great Show Guys!

lol control room definitely made up for that botched batman segment at the end

Posted by sk0ney

pros

+ awesome close up shot of sarahs boobs (as she moves off the couch)

+ ryans face during fruit ninja

cons

- tested segment

- close up crotch shots of supermen

- no jeff/brad/patrick

I love the Tested guys, but they seem to think that personality is enough to get through these segments. And it was clear that their segment had no planning whatsoever, aside from "let's show this card game".

Nevermind that a card game is painfully slow and boring for a video segment - they didn't really explain the rules clearly, so it was hard to discern what was going on. Then when they brought the interns in, everyone was talking over everyone, and it was just a mess.

Humour segments are fine, but you still need to have some structure to what is going on. And I don't even mind the odd bomb of a segment, but it's becoming a bit of a regular thing with the Tested ones. You'd hope they'd put a bit more effort into what is basically the one major piece of exclusive content their paid subscribers get.

I saw the video you mention, though - great stuff. Tested's a great website.

Games like fruit ninja show that Kinect can be chaotic fun as long as the game doesn't require precise controls and people are doing natural movements they already understand.

Am I the only person who thinks that Norm looks like fifty years older when he's not wearing glasses?

The real question is whether Jeff left for gamebomb.ru or for rivalvideogamewebsite.com.

Posted by Heliosicle

@Scotto: I think part of it is that because they have so many great videos on the site and are doing a lot of production they don't have much time to organise. I'm probably wrong though. I hope the quality of their segments picks up, they used to be my favourite part, Screened is now.

fruit ninja looks like a really good kinect game

Ryan's massive disappointment in everyone is always the most delicious part of the Happy Hour.

And yet, as the host who doesn't do much more than introduce the segments, he should do something about the quality of his show instead of complaining about it like a boss admonishing their employees without giving them better tools.

But I digress... I'm not sure why the answer to the "greatest speech in an alien movie" is Bill Paxton. Firstly, the question is flawed because it is an opinion, not a verifiable absolute like someone's co-star. Secondly, if it's a matter of opinion, then I think Bill Pullman's speech in ID4 is a lot better than anything Bill Paxton has said in an alien movie, in fact, the only line I can recall him delivering is: "Game over man! Game over!", which is cool, but not on par with the President's inspirational message in Independence Day.

I know the WM staff is very busy with producing content on their respective sites and they don't have much time to prepare for the live show. But I don't see why everything has to be live; if they can produced pre-recorded content that is good, why not show that? Maybe the Happy Hour needs a more clearly defined raison d'être.

Wow that Tested segment was like watching a trainwreck in slow motion
