Why Yes, Dark Souls II Is Out Today

I have no interest in Dark Souls 2 but I watched it for the Jethro Tull song

What in the fuck is this song? Not Jethro Tull specifically, but the discrepancy between the Dark Souls ethos and this song is just—it's as big as the Grand Canyon.

Tull is unexpected... though I'd have preferred a more creative choice of song (well, okay "Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die" wouldn't be that much more creative, just more obscure)...

I've really enjoyed their "unusual" song choices for their trailers, first Pixies and now this. I understand why people might find them a little odd, but I think both songs kinda fit the tone of Dark Souls in an interesting way - and it's nice to see a bit of variety from the standard tone of most promotional material.

I guess this is probably the best Jethro Tull song they could have used? I guess?

The description does not lie. I was not expecting a Jethro Tull song with my Dark Souls 2 trailer, but I got one nonetheless.

These trailers sure would make me want to stay away from Dark Souls 2 alltogether, if I wouldn't already know what kind of game it is.

I love how fucking cheesy these trailers are. Kind of mirrors the melodrama of the games. And the low angle camera and strut looks like something Vinny would do at the beginning of a Quick Look just before walking off a fucking cliff.

Have a link to the Pixies "Where is my Mind" trailer? Remember seeing it in a pre-roll ad. That one completely fit compared to here.

Found it, saw it in the UK cinemas actually.

I don't get what's so inappropriate about this music. If you've ever played an 8 or 16 bit era JRPG, this is exactly the music they tried to emulate.

I love me some Tull, but this combination is kinda weird. :D

Just got my collectors edition in the mail, was not expecting it 3 days before release date.

The song is fine enough for a trailer I guess, but I think the bigger issue is that Dark Souls just doesn't lend itself well to flashy trailers.

I'll take my Jethro Tull and Dark Souls II separately, please.

Man, the framerate on some of that footage looked a little rough in spots. I'm assuming it's from the console version. Real glad they've focused on making a pc version sooner rather than later this time around.

I will stand by my original statement for the first game: blasting Black Sabbath is an appropriate soundtrack of driving dread.

People can complain about the use of a Jethro Tull song in this trailer, but I loved it! Then again, I'm also a Jethro Tull fan, so there's that.
