I have no interest in Dark Souls 2 but I watched it for the Jethro Tull song

edit - I am off to listen to the Aqualung album now. Thanks Trailer.

What in the fuck is this song? Not Jethro Tull specifically, but the discrepancy between the Dark Souls ethos and this song is just—it's as big as the Grand Canyon.

WHAT A WEIRD TRAILER OH WELL I STILL WANT DARK SOULS II.

Jethro Tull owning!

Edited by OldGuy

Tull is unexpected... though I'd have preferred a more creative choice of song (well, okay "Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die" wouldn't be that much more creative, just more obscure)...

Edited by Y2Ken

I've really enjoyed their "unusual" song choices for their trailers, first Pixies and now this. I understand why people might find them a little odd, but I think both songs kinda fit the tone of Dark Souls in an interesting way - and it's nice to see a bit of variety from the standard tone of most promotional material.

I guess this is probably the best Jethro Tull song they could have used? I guess?

Maybe the final boss breaths locomotives at you.

Ya. Weird.

hmmm dark souls 2 titanfall south park or diablo3 ros. decisions decisions

The description does not lie. I was not expecting a Jethro Tull song with my Dark Souls 2 trailer, but I got one nonetheless.

Jethro Tull song in a video-game trailer? In a Dark Souls trailer? What?!

The discrepancy between the song and the content of the trailer is insane.

God I love this song.

Posted by baka_shinji17

Well I am an all-time-loser, so they got that part right.

Edited by khopps17

that was actually a pretty bad trailer...

Going to put on Thick as a Brick and begin my first run of DS2

Jethro Tull should be hanging out somewhere in the game playing this song.

DSII has really had some fuckawful trailers...

AQUALUNG????!?

no, Locomotive breath, second side....

What a definitive choice.

So begins the epic quest to destroy Dark Lord Vinny. With a Jethro Tull song.

Jethro + Dark Souls + Low Angle Strut = BLISS

You had me at Jethro Tull.

Perhaps the next trailer can feature Solaris with ELO's "Mr. Blue Skys" playing in the background.

WATCH OUT FOR GIANT TELEPHONE POLES COMING RIGHT AT YOUR FACE

I dunno, I think that's a pretty awesome video because of the song

Posted by Flacracker

I have listed to a bit of Jethro Tull. XM Radio seems to have a hard on for him.

Posted by Glottery

These trailers sure would make me want to stay away from Dark Souls 2 alltogether, if I wouldn't already know what kind of game it is.

Posted by DeadDorf

When you beat the game, you unlock a Jethro Tull soundtrack to use during New Game +.

Awesome trailer.

if you start the song as soon as your press start they sync up pretty well. Your first death is right when the piano kicks in.

When I saw the trailer was only two minutes, I knew my hopes of it being Thick as a Brick were dashed.

STOP TAUNTING ME!!!! Still 2-3 more days until i get my hands on it.

Guess I'm naming my character Ian Anderson now.

I love how fucking cheesy these trailers are. Kind of mirrors the melodrama of the games. And the low angle camera and strut looks like something Vinny would do at the beginning of a Quick Look just before walking off a fucking cliff.

I've been searching for a trailer with a Pixies song in it, couldn't find it. Can you provide a link?

'Locomotive Breath' and Dark Souls II are an unexpectedly awesome combination.

I don't know who is making these trailers but they clearly don't know what they're doing. Fucking useless.

Oh well, roll on Friday at least the game itself will be great.

Have a link to the Pixies "Where is my Mind" trailer? Remember seeing it in a pre-roll ad. That one completely fit compared to here.

Found it, saw it in the UK cinemas actually.

I don't get what's so inappropriate about this music. If you've ever played an 8 or 16 bit era JRPG, this is exactly the music they tried to emulate.

Edited by thaquoth

I love me some Tull, but this combination is kinda weird. :D

Posted by Rocospi

The fuck? Was this trailer made for SXSW or something?

Posted by Ravelle

Just got my collectors edition in the mail, was not expecting it 3 days before release date.

Posted by dudeglove

Sure?

Posted by NoodleUnit

The song is fine enough for a trailer I guess, but I think the bigger issue is that Dark Souls just doesn't lend itself well to flashy trailers.

Posted by Spoonman671

I'll take my Jethro Tull and Dark Souls II separately, please.

Posted by TheManWithNoPlan

Man, the framerate on some of that footage looked a little rough in spots. I'm assuming it's from the console version. Real glad they've focused on making a pc version sooner rather than later this time around.

People can complain about the use of a Jethro Tull song in this trailer, but I loved it! Then again, I'm also a Jethro Tull fan, so there's that.

Nonetheless, I need to play it...NOW!

Posted by NathHaw

That didn't work.

Edited by Vinny

I fixed this trailer.

@vinny: Haha! Man that is so much better.

Edited by Spiritof

I was going to make a suggestion, but then Vinny went ahead and did it.

(in my mind I was thinking "Wonderboy" or that Mortal Kombat dance song, but Black Knight is a pretty sweet fit)
