Everything involving that kid is horrible in ME3. I seriously hope Patrick was being sarcastic.

ME2 and then my love of ME3 and ME1 are about the same.

I'm the last to defend Twilight Princess in the context of the Zelda series, but it's totally competent in most aspects. Calling it a bad game, when there are so many games released every week that are much worse, is bullshit hyperbole and needlessly disrespectful to the team who made it.

Patrick is like a NeoGAF post in human form sometimes.

After watching this, I hope there is a game where you play as Garrus as a C-Sec operative before ME1. He was my favorite character through the series, and I'd love to see more of his past. The mission where you had to take care of Dr. Heart in ME1 was pretty cool.

If this had been all three games with DLC, it would have made sense. Having Mass Effect 3 on a console that doesn't have the first two games doesn't make much sense (even with that horrible motion comic).

That random self-aggrandizing interruption of Jeff's this-has-been-my-day-so-far story from Patrick ("Hey, I ran seven miles!") during the loadup to the multiplayer match is one of those moments where I actually understand why he occasionally gets comment criticism.

Someone asked him first. It wasn't random.

Well the exact question was, "How much DOES Jeff want to die right now?"  Not voting one way or the other myself on the topic just clarifying what the question was.  He interjected his running story during Jeff explaining why he doesn't particularly want to die because the day started off okay. asdf

Patrick is a complete tool for saying Twilight Princess is an outright 'bad' game. I expect that from a troll not a journalist.

No shitting on Twilight Princess, it's a great game.  At least on Gamecube.

Agreed, it lacked the spark and character of Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker, but the combat system is the best in the series and the dungeon design was fantastic, and the bosses, while some of them not that much fun to fight, where always a spectacle. Definitely a very well made game, just very traditional. Oh and the Ball & Chain was very badass.
But yeah, fuck that Wii version, it doesn't even have that hilarious jump slash glitch.

Nah not really, everyone shits on everything after A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and to a lesser extent Ocarina of Time by a fair amount of people for a good amount of reasons, for reasons reasonable and not-so reasonable. But yeah the wolf sections were pretty throw away, gladly they were sparse and getting around/controlling as the wolf was quick. Even Aonuma said he put the Wolf in because he was sort of forced into making another Link to the Past-y game like Ocarina, but also needed an original gimmick or whatever so yeah he didn't know what to do and yeah. It was an overall solid game plagued by general Zelda fatigue and lack of identity.

@LegendaryChopChop: I can see that, to be honest my favorite thing about ME3 is Shepard's development as an actual character as opposed to being a cipher. Agreed on Kai Leng, of course he's even worse for those of us who read Mass Effect: Deception (written by William C. Dietz, who wrote Halo: The Flood which I've heard is also terrible), to wit:

You can read Mass Effect: Deception entirely in rage comic form here.

13 times here. All on Insanity, at least once with each class. To say the least, I disagree about ME2 being superior.

13 times?

What the fuck. I didn't even like the first playthrough, so much worse than ME2, even mechanically it felt worse in places because of that stupid run animation.

Mass Effect one was fine...during the parts where you didn't have to play it. Seriously that game doesn't hold up AT ALL. If any company other than Bioware had made it, the series would have been canned and forgotten about. Thankfully, it wasn't cause 2 was pretty damn great.

Agreed. Mass Effect was the first "cover-based" (using the term lightly) third-person shooter I had ever played so I didn't know any better at the time, but even after ME2 had just come out I found it a chore to play through the original again. Now I wouldn't even dream/nightmare of it. From a technical perspective it's a 1-star game. Even ME2 is hard to go back to, the constant stagger in Hardcore/Insanity is more frustrating than the Geth in ME3 multiplayer.

Oh I totally know what you mean. Mechanically, ME3 is far above ME2, but I just meant from the storytelling and character basis I found ME2 a more captivating experience. Although I love the characters introduced in 3, except perhaps Kai Leng lol.

@smcn: Maaaaaaaan. ME2 on Insanity is still one of the worst experiences I've had in gaming. It just felt like they turned up the knobs without any regard to how certain classes would even clear areas. I can't remember the exact boss's name, but it was like...a big heart or organ or something and husks spawned constantly around it. As a sniper....can't remember the class name...the thief-ish one, my successful run of that boss took well over 30 mins. I had to cloak, deaggro the husks, headshot one, run, cloak, headshot one, run, cloak, and eventually I'd get a chance to take a shot at the boss. It was an abysmal experience that I've been unable to divorce from the real, sincere enjoyment I had playing it on lower difficulties.

I didn't even try to ratchet up the difficulty on 3.

Insanity on 3 is much easier. What made it so hard on 2 is instead of increasing the amount of the existing health and defenses enemies had, it would actually add defenses to enemies that they wouldn't have on lower difficulties. Being mobbed by husks with armor was terrible because armor makes them immune to being thrown around with biotics.

The Praetorian on Horizon, YUP. Worst thing ever. Insanity in ME3 is very manageable for any class, just have to watch out for grenades and combo all the things.

Yeah, looked like Arkham City was just an extraordinarily poor port. ME3 seems totally fine on WiiU, just weird that they didn't put out the entire trilogy like they did for the other consoles. Really weird that the NeoGAF guys seemed to hate EA's WiiU efforts the most.
