Never played either of the original Max Payne games. This looks hot.

First Mark Wahlberg and no this?! What are you doing to my dearest of all my friends!

The trailer seems to indicate to me, that things for Max it is going to go bad, real bad. Maybe to the point of of no return. However, I really look forward to playing this game when it comes out. I have faith in Rockstar putting a good game out next year.

This is causing cognitive dissonance in my brain. The new look hasn't been what I wanted from Max Payne 3.

Still… it didn't look *awful*. I'm wary, but intrigued.

(And hell, if a relatively worthy Deus Ex sequel can be made…)

Hearing the theme reminded me how much I've missed a Max Payne game. But I can't say this trailer sold me on this new story. Random girl under protective detail gets abducted and Max must rescue her? I hope there's more emotional pull than that or this is going to be a huge disappointment compared to the plot of the first two games.

Fuck me. Hearing that music again hit me harder than I thought it would.

Clever trying to fool me that everything's gonna be all right by using that music. But unfortunately no music could have made that look or sound like the Max Payne game I want. And the voice, oh my God the voice - so wrong!

As a stand alone thing it look fine though. Could be a good game, just not the right game.

Rockstar has a hell of a job to make us believe on Max Payne 3. I don't see black & white, Noir York City and the snowstorm of the century, so I pretty much don't like it at all.

I see what You did there. And where's Remedy? Where is Sam Lake?

I'm optimistic about this. If MP3 was set again in New York City I would actually been disappointed despite it being a staple for noir. The fact they are doing something very different with the brand is compelling. We'll see.

I remember Max Payne for its script, not its looks. As long as this is equally as good in the sequel, I will be a happy camper.

I hope this won't be Kane and Lynch.

Just as I was thinking that this had some hilariously awkward and stiff GTA-style animations going on, I saw the Rockstar logo. I have no idea if anyone from those games are working on this but that was pretty funny.

Hopefully Max Payne 3 will walk a similar line between self-serious and goofy as the first two. I'm almost getting a "we're taking this shit seriously and so should you" vibe, which is hopefully just the result of such a short teaser.

If the action remains smooth and precise I'll be pretty happy either way.

I hope this comes out good. It's good to see they're changing shit up. Max has aged and he seems haggard as hell. That's cool. Blowing away a bunch of dudes in revenge as a old killer on his last legs in place he obviously doesn't belong. That's cool. Yeah, I'm gonna play this game. Really hope it comes out good.

I'm actually quite hopeful that this will turn out alright or even fantastic. As a fan of what this studio was trying to do with Bully as well as the storytelling flair that that product had, this looks like they've made a Max Payne they can call their own.

That looks awesome! I love a good sweaty tropical noir story. People forget that's a legit setting for noir.

Man, most of these comments are so negative! So, he shaved his head and it's not in a city. Big deal! I'm still not keen on his new haircut and the setting doesn't bother me too much. As much as I'd like it to be in the city, it's not that big a deal to me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to hate on the game! It's still Max Payne and I'm stoked! I wasn't too sure about the first screenshots released, but now I've seen this trailer, I'm totally ready!! =)

Change is good. Changing the series so the theme song doesn't even fit anymore and puts it in a highly unoriginal "shits all messed up" story in south america is bad.

The baldism going on in here is ridiculous. We don't tolerate racism or gayism (what is the word for that?) but we tolerate baldism?? What is wrong with the world!!!!!

Quick question: Was the Hangover 2 reference intentional, because he looks ridiculously like Alan, but the rest of the video is so serious.

But with history of how iconic characters change overall due to something odd in the development process, they sort of have something legitimate to complain about. You can see that also with DmC but that case has gone unnecessarily outrageous. I am not minding it much and James McCaffery is voicing Max again so I am down.

I suppose since Rockstar covered all things Noir with LA Noir, they decided to take Max Payne in a new direction, which is the only direction it could go. Max McClane... with a Vengeance... or Die Hard.

Gah. Should be done by Remedy. This trailer makes it seem like a pretty standard shooter.

Not particularly fond of Max's new look, but as a fan of the first two I'm still interested to see how this one turns out.
