WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2011 Trailer

lol they probably shouldn't show real footage and then game footage and say the most realistic cause it makes it look so fake....

though its easy to say same shit different year... reading up on this, they actually seem to have put some pretty decent features in this one... and made some worth while changes... i have not bought one of these since HCTP this might just get me back into it... 

i saw no hint of the Nexus. that makes my eyebrows frown and my eyeballs sweat :(
 
who gives a shit anyway. these wrastlin games are lame. what i dont understand is why these same developers that make UFC dont make the WWE games with the better UFC engine.

Oh rastlin'. I love you yet and dislike you. Especially since this trailer proves that 2011 will be the worst SmackDown! game in a number of years.

My cousin knows  "Sheamus" from his IWW training days. Seemingly he is a nice guy and his hair isn't really that shade of red. I haven't watched Wrestling since the attitude era so I am quite shocked to hear that this is the game everyone has been waiting for rather than 12 that have come out yearly since then.

On a side note, Sheamus looks like an absolute idiot and the last guy you'd ever expect to be a wrestler.

This year's edition looks like it might be quite good actually :- ) over 70 wrestlers....half of which are probably future endevoured or dead by now because the roster was finalised in April. Which of course means no NXT/Nexus.

What's up with the glossy finish for all of the characters? They all look way too shiny. Kinda like Orton when he was with Legacy. LOL.

I haven't actualy watched any wrestling for about 10 years, but it's still a lot of fun to play through these games with a friend, making all of our own wrestlers that we used to create back in the very first Smackdown game.
 
After a string of very disappointing games, I told myself I wouldn't be getting this one.  But the new WWE Universe features sounds a lot like GM mode and is exactly what I've been waiting for them to add.  No doubt they'll still find a way to ruin it though.

Graphics just look bland. Like, really, really bland.

Miz sounds like a zombie from Deadly Premonition.

I like wrestling and I like the SvR games. I'm getting this. Possibly day one.

I would love a "smart" mode, where it's up to you and the AI player to make a good match.  You would have counters, high-spots, and signature moves but they wouldn't affect your "HP" (though there could be a stamina metre which would be recovered with restholds, that could null the excitement of a match) and it'd be up to you to entertain the crowd, rather than beat the guy.

Couldn't care less about the game itself... but, wow. It's still kinda weird that the guy in the preview image is the same guy I made a promo video for like 3-4 year ago on a independent TV channel here in the UK... now he's starring in video games :). Crazy.

Sheamus is so good, and fits into the main event scene perfectly.  His Lesnar-like push has gone over wonderfully...though I certainly hope he sticks around longer than Lesnar did.  Pretty mind-boggling to see him in this game (and on the European box art) when slightly over a year ago none of us knew he existed.
 
----actual sidenote about the game---
SvR has been bland and boring since the 06 edition.  Yes, this has all sorts of new features, but it's all very minimal fluff.  Which is nice, but if you don't have the fighting engine to accompany it it means nothing.  Most all the animations look absolutely measly, not impactful at all.  FirePro is pretty much the only alternative, and that's still a barely-released SNES game with no license.  Unless Yuke's takes the time to redo their engine, none of this will have meaning.  I want a hard-hitting wrestling game, one where the characters don't constantly clip and have unrealistic, mind-boggling SSPs like the one Evan Bourne does off the ladder in that video.  It isn't brutal, it isn't cool, it just makes no sense, and is cartoony to a point where WWE All-Stars doesn't seem needed.  Wrestling is staged, yeah, but when someone gets suplexed they still hit the mat real hard.  Here, it's just a string of half-assed "moves" with no logic or meaning.
